  1. EDIT: Double post
  2. I'm glad I'm not alone with 'In The Middle', but yeh you're more than welcome to ignore my feelings on 'Stronger', I keep trying and trying but for whatever frustrating reason, it just doesn't click with me and I'm so alone in that universe. :P Maybe I never unheard Heidi's bum note  ...But I also love 'Wear My Kiss' so any opinion I have musically is broadly recognized as invalid.
  3. The fact that 'Side to Side' was SO successful cursed 'Greedy', the label clearly had Urban airplay in mind after that. I stand by the fact that if it was released as a single, it would have been one of her most successful. I was envisioning a Candyman-esque video with some cute choreo OR something like a 007 movie bank heist vibe as Ari lip syncs in the passenger seat whilst her chauffer races away from the cops in a black Cadillac with dollar bills flying out of the window. The single handed biggest loss as a single of any song ever. Never fails to lift me up, that final chorus with key change is EVERYTHING. I'm surprised it didn't make more peoples list.
  4. 20: lf_wVfwpfp8 20. Focus (192 points) Welcome to Buzzjack's Top 20 most loved Ariana tracks. From here we will be revealing the results one by one. Starting off then, some of you expressed shock and disgust in the previous round that 'Dangerous Woman' was out before this one. Does the fact that it was by the skin of our teeth make it better or worse? Previously titled 'Focus On Me', the meant-to-be lead single from third album (then titled) "Moonlight" came in the form of 'Focus', which is essentially a result of the label saying "Hey Ari, Problem was huge! Let's remake it but give you a platinum wig in the music video.... let's hope they don't mishear the Jamie Foxx voiced hook as F**K A ZOMBIE!!". The similarities between the two tracks are undeniable with their brassy Max Martin productions and basic hooks featuring an uncredited male vocalist, the only thing missing is a female rapper for the bridge, where in this instance we got a fun dance break. 'Focus' was excluded from the retitled 'Dangerous Woman' album due to it's mediocre success, Label execs from Republic also put it down to the fact it was "Calculated to a fault, too polished for a time when pop's biggest stars, particularly its women, were letting their flaws bleed into the music.". It did however go on to feature on the 'Japanese Deluxe Edition'. Despite this, the track still managed top 10 in many territories and collected certications including an impressive Double-Platinum in the US. Points came from: Cremey, who isn't the only one that LOVES this with his +37 score as Riser raised that with +39. Lewis matched with another +37. Then we have; Liam (+30), kath (+20), ready for it... (+13), myself (+9) and Nick (+7).
  5. Listening now... Emotions and What About Us could easily be hit singles. Love both!
  6. 26 + 25: Z1pmpDRrQhU 26. Santa Tell Me (164 points) 25. ghostin (165 points) The certified Christmas Classic 'Santa Tell Me' is yet to reach the top 10 in the UK charts, but we are confident it will do it at some point, it reached a new peak of #11 during Christmas 2020, falling just short a #13 Christmas just passed. A massive 9 of us gave it points. Riser was it's highest scorer awarding 32 points. ...ready for it, Lunar, Nick, Jade, Highausakite, Brer, Liam and myself all awarded it points. The gorgeous emotional ballad 'ghostin' is a real highlight from the 'thank u, next' album. Ariana is yet to perform the track live due to it's emotionally triggering and highly personal nature. She revealed in an interview that the process of recording the track "sucked" and that she really didn't want it to be on the album, but was encouraged by her manager Scooter Braun. We are thankful it was included as it made our top 25 favourite Ariana songs. Liam gave it top marks, awarding all 40 points, Jade put it in her top 5, scoring 36 points whilst ...ready for it, Cremey, Lewis, Lunar and myself gave it good scores, Brer kept it from drawing with 'Santa Tell Me' by awarding it a single point.
  7. 'Sometimes' would be a huge highlight on any of the other albums and I still love it where it is. I'm definately on team "Bloodline should have been a single". That album is so strong she really could have dropped any. But I'm also a 'Side to Side' lover so it's only natural that I love it's successor.
  8. Today I've just randomly been bursting into Jade's operatic background vocal moment, when it mixes into the final chorus it is just such f'ing good ear candy.
  9. 32 + 31: leopt__ATR0 32. Moonlight (98 points) 31. Don't Call Me Angel (with Miley Cyrus & Lana Del Rey) (101 points) The song that was originally intended as the title track is the gorgeous romantic ballad 'Moonlight' which opens the 'Dangerous Woman' album and has wedding first dance song splashed all over it. It is our last track below 100 points, just shy of 2 points. Point's came from an impressive number of us: London (30), Cremey (22), myself (21), Lunar (11), Highausakite (8), Jade (6). Our first track to reach the 100 points mark is the Max Martin produced mega-collab 'Don't Call Me Angel'. The song was used as the lead single from the 'Charlie's Angels (2019)' soundtrack. Ariana performs alongside Miley Cyrus, whilst Lana Del Ray takes on the bridge. The track was released during Ariana's 'overexposure' stage of her career where she seemed to be dropping tracks left, right and center. The track came in a #13 on Billboard and only just missed #1 on the UK Charts, coming in at a (still impressive) #2, missing out to Ed Sheeran & Stormy's 'Take Me Back To London'. It didn't stick around for long though, only managing 9 weeks on the chart. It went on to achieve a 'Silver' cert with over 200,000 chart sales. It was also certified 'Gold' in Australia and Canada, though failed to make much of an impact anywhere else. Points came from a slightly smaller number of generous voters: Riser (29), Brer (29), kath (26), Nick F1 (10), Lewis (7).
  10. 'In The Middle' gets a lot of flack, but for me it's a classic. I don't care how much Mutya hated 'Red Dress', it gets my diva pulsing. The next 4 are all close in my rankings, 'Wear My Kiss' being the the boppiest so that's why I put it 3rd and although I've always felt 'Stronger' is their most overrated song, I still quite like it, just not one I go back to. I often forget that 'Angels With Dirty Faces' was even a single or how it goes quite frankly. 1. In The Middle 2. Red Dress 3. Wear My Kiss 4. Run For Cover 5. Denial 6. Stronger 7. Angels With Dirty Faces
  11. All of these songs dropping out are absolute faves. I listen to 'everytime' just as much as the singles from 'sweetener', totally single-worthy. 'Break Your Heart Right Back' was my favourite album track from 'My Everything' after it's release and when I finally got around to listening to 'Yours Truly' in full for the first time, I was searching for that real upbeat pop moment to change the tone and it comes at the perfect moment.
  12. Oh I see, sorry I missed that, just weird because on my Spotify it was still saying 99mil :P Look at her raking these up. 'get well soon' and 'Popular Song' look next to surpass it, both at 97mil currently.
  13. That live performance is gorgeous, clearly touched up, but stunning nonetheless.
  14. =37: r2XJ9P1NvJc 37. safety net (feat. Ty Dolla $ign) (79 points) 37. The Way (feat. Mac Miller) (79 points) Next we have another tie between these two top tier collabs. The 'positions' album highlight which easily comes in the wasted smash-hit category; 'safety net', includes a strong collaborative effort from Ty Dolla $ign. I just know radios would have eaten this track UP, but in true Ariana fashion, the idea was passed on. The track just missed the top 50 on Billboard coming in at #52. It did manage an appearance in the UK Downloads Chart (#96) but due to chart rules, it was not eligible for the main chart. Lunar placed it in their top 10, scoring it a mahusive 32 points, it just missed out of Jade's top 10, being her 11th favourite track (30 points) the rest of the votes cames in drips and drabs from myself, Cremey and Lewis (giving 6, 2 and 9 respectively). Sharing 37th place is Ariana's (pretend :kink:) lead single, which lead her debut album campaign 'Yours Truly'. The fun R&B jam 'The Way' was performed alongside a future love interest; the late Mac Miller. The track did a great job setting the tone for era's to come and did wonders helping her to establish a promising career. The track went on to snatch many certifications around the world including an impressive 3x Platinum in the US. The track was a slow burner in the UK, finally achieving a Silver cert 5 years after release in 2018. It's highest scorer was Riser who rates it the 10th best Ari song (31 points) ...ready for it hiked up it's score, awarding 26 points, I gave it my 14 whilst Cremey and Lewis both gave it 4.
  15. Both beautiful and sultry songs! A strong promo single and smart choice in 'Let Me Love You'. 'my hair' had me gobsmacked the first time I heard it, just gorgeous! I know it's my boyfriends favourite from the album too, since I've battered the life out of it on any and every occasion. The album makes an excellent background for late nights in with drinks and a friend or too, candlelit dinners, belting in the shower, long drives etc.
  16. The title track is gorgeous, exactly the type of music I was excited to hear from her.
  17. I also took some big losses there, what a great selection of songs! I listen to all 5 on a regular basis.
  18. Both should have been singles and both would have been massive classics. 'White Lies' instead of '30 Days' and I know in my heart that if 'One Shot' lead Wordshaker, it would have been their first number one. I remember hearing whispers that they scrapped it's single release due to JLS releasing their 'One Shot', but come oooonnn, two of the members were dating, the publicity writes it's self. Oh well, can't change the past.
  19. I actually agree now, I used to be one of the haters, but listening to it earlier whilst typing the post, I was bopping.
  20. Oooo I love 'Tattooed Heart' I'm going to go stream it! It deserves the milestone. EDIT: Also 'Off The Table' should become the 74th any day now.
  21. 50 - =46: OQitfe8u7i4 50. Santa, Can't You Hear Me (with Kelly Clarkson) (61 points) 49. Bad Decisions (62 points) 48. Honeymoon Avenue (67 points) =46. the light is coming (feat. Nicki Minaj) (69 points) =46. Why Try (69 points) Into our Top 50 now, taking the 50th spot in (almost) brand new, festive, mega bop 'Santa, Can't You Hear Me' alongside the much beloved Kelly Clarkson. The track was well acclaimed from release and although not quite a Christmas classic just yet, it certainly shows great promise and will for sure work it's way up Christmas charts globally in years to come. Liam.k LOVES it giving it 36 points, ...ready for it and Jade also gave it points. Lunar thought it was just about worth a mention, giving it a single point. Out next is only the 3rd 'Dangerous Woman' track to drop out thus far, really proving how loved the album is overall. I'd say 'Bad Decisions' is one of the tracks that has aged the most from the album, however it's still as fun and flirty as ever. Would most of us had preferred it as the single over 'Everyday'? Probably. Fellow mod Lewis was it's highest scorer, awarding his 28 points, highausakite, Cremey and Lunar helped to round up the rest of it's score. It very almost got a point from myself also. An album-opening track and 'Yours Truly' highlight is in 48th position, in the form of; 'Honeymoon Avenue'. Younger Ari's vocals really shine on this whimsical R&B ballad. It received strong scores from Kath, Lunar and Brer. Yet another tie in 46th place is shared by marmite 'sweetener' track 'the light is coming' (including yet another Nicki Minaj feature) and Ryan Tedder penned, scandi-pop, ballad 'Why Try' from the first half of the 'My Everything' album. 'the light is coming' really had fans divided when it was released as a "Promo Single" in June 2018, before the release of the highly anticipated 'sweetener' album. Since then, nothing has changed, fans are still very split on the track. Nick F1, Jade, Lewis, Highausakite and Brer all gave it points, the rest of ignored it, as if it were shade. 'Why Try' gives Ariana her "Beyoncé" ballad moment and certainly contributes to the album's high quality pop sound. Lunar and Highausakite gave it some pretty hefty points, whilst I gave it a modest 3 points.
  22. I agree, the remix is horrible! :puke2: Yay that it's back on streaming! I was properly obsessed with it at first. I guess for me it's just got lost in the crowd of material since, but listening to it right now, it certainly deserves a little justice.
  23. 65 - 61: 0HDdjwpPM3Y 65. Met Him Last Night (with Demi Lovato) (35 points) =62. All My Love (with Major Lazer) (36 points) =62. Baby I (36 points) =62. Adore (with Cashmere Cat) (36 points) 61. Bang Bang (with Jessie J & Nicki Minaj) (42 points) We have some notable collabs dropping out at this point. In 65th is a recent collaboration, almost turning a year old 'Met Him Last Night' sees the two powerhouse vocalists united. It served as the 4th single from Demi's acclaimed 'Dancing with the Devil... the Art of Starting Over' album. Although the song wasn't backed heavily by radios, it still managed to chart Top 50 many places around the globe and fans cannot deny that the song is quality. A hefty 21 points came from Brer with another generous 14 came from Cremey. Next we have a three-way tie, first is the Hunger Games Soundtrack song 'All My Love' produced by no other than EDM troupe; Major Lazer. 13 points came from Cremey and Brer who are clearly sharing some taste. The other 10 points were awarded by fellow mod Jade. Sharing 62nd place is the often forgotten second single from Ariana's debut album; 'Baby I'. 'ready for it...' awarded 19 points,'Riser' awarded 17. Also with 36 points is another collaboration with Cashmere Cat; 'Adore' was met with heavy praise upon release and even charted in the US despite being only a Bonus Track on Cashmere's album '9'. Leaving at this point means that users rate 'Quit' as their strongest joint effort. Kath provided the most points, marking it as their 8th overall favourite track (33 points), 'Jade' made up the extra 3 points. Probably quite a shock elimination at this stage is the MEGA hit, girl power collab that is 'Bang Bang'. The track is lead by Jessie J and features Ariana alongside rap legend Nicki Minaj. It went on to sell MILLIONS world wide and scored Ari a 2nd #1 hit in the UK. Despite that, it didn't leave much of a long term impact on the members of Buzzjack. It managed to scrape 26 points from 'London' and 8 points from both 'ready for it...' and 'Nick F1'
  24. "Absolute bop" correct. The hook is very Tom's Diner but I know I'm not the first to point it out. I'm in love with this one being a big fan of both Tyga and Doja's music it only makes sense. Get's my juices flowing.

Sad that it's such a slow burner now, it should be in their top 5 most played on Spotify. Pop cult classic.
