Yeah this is definitely a grower. And if nothing else the visuals around this release are MILES ahead of anything she's put her name to since the Prism era. This truly feels like a return to form for her.

Random observation that I've always wondered about: does anyone know why When I Grow Up has minimal certifications worldwide while pretty much all of their other singles seem to have up-to-date certifications? For example, I Hate This Part has been certified Platinum in the US for a million sales but WIGU sold well over 2 million and hasn't been. WIGU was also #53 on the decade end chart in Australia and has only been certified 1x Platinum there while most of the songs behind it on that chart are multi-Platinum. If this is due to their label, I'm wondering why this single was handled differently than the rest?

Never post on Buzzjack anymore but had to for this. This is a bop and although it may not quite be on Don't Call Me Up/Mad Love level as far as universal appeal, it still deserves Top 20 at least. So glad Love Island saved it and will help it manage Silver if nothing else. And some of y'all completely wrote this off in its second week <_<

Agreed! Impressed by how well it's held up with streaming. I think it was around 35 million on Spotify at the end of its chart run and is now past 61 million.

Yeah, Jessica is pregnant. I thought this was going to be a Rochelle moment but she's apparently due in May so shouldn't affect PCD's plans. Robin has always been cringe to me.

The instrumental of this is almost an exact replica of Friends by BloodPop & Justin Bieber. Great song though, hope it does well for him.

I wonder when they'll get their US certifications updated. I read somewhere that Buttons is eligible for 4x Platinum and When I Grow Up still isn't certified despite surpassing 2 million sales not long after release. Right There by Nicole is also Platinum eligible, supposedly.
