  1. Pedantically speaking, 'Overrated' wasn't after being dropped - London Records kept her on and dropped the other two members (who eventually signed to Island). However, after the failure of the follow-up single and the album, they did drop her.
  2. Robbie Williams?
  3. Think there might be a slight typo there! Unfortunately if it's a solo thread we also won't get 'Girl You Know It's True (K+S)'. Anyway, I am old enough to just about remember Worlds Apart. But I was unaware that one of them had had a Number 54 hit solo.
  4. It sounds more like the form you have to fill in to claim your travel expenses.
  5. Is that the real title?
  6. James Masterton is even older than me!

I was going to say, I don't even think 'Party Rock Anthem' is their most famous song. The Pigeon Detectives are a bit of a weird inclusion too... I presume 'Take Her Back' is their biggest seller but it's one of several comparably-sized hits - is it even that well-known these days?
  8. Reading the description of The Script as a "legacy" act makes me feel about 100 years old.
  9. I don't think I want to see evidence of Maroon 5 not being female, thanks. They can keep their clothes on.
  10. I didn't realise it was 2004.
  11. And that it's packaged with a hits compilation.
  12. Got an e-mail from Joe Bonamassa announcing that Black Country Communion are releasing a fourth album called IV on the 22nd of September. I guess that's his third album this year?
  13. I presume it's meant to be some kind of artistic statement, like the cereal box they give you if you buy the album in an indie shop.

In case anybody wanted to know, these are the singles I bought (at some point, not necessarily this week) I also bought the Idlewild and Super Furry Animals singles in the Top 100

I remember that Harvey Danger song looked like being a huge hit at one time but didn't make it. I liked it then, suspect I would be less keen now. I guess FAB! were officially the least successful Lynch family act, behind Boyzone, B*Witched and Buffalo G. Oh, in case anyone was wondering the lead track on Eight EP by Mansun was 'Legacy'.
  16. Well, I always said Skrillex records were full of...

Maybe they got Bodyrox mixed up with Bodyrockers, who really were a one-hit wonder? I was being generous and not counting features because people might very well remember 'We Dance On' as an N-Dubz song and not associate it with Bodyrox.

Sigh.. Warwick Avenue, Stepping Stone, Rain On Your Parade, Don't Falter, Sexiest Man In Jamaica, Blue Song... You'd think people would remember that last one because the video seems to be mentioned in every review of Baby Driver... The Things, I'm In Love, Real Life. (coincidence - some of the first recordings Duffy ever did were session vocals on the third Mint Royale album, but they didn't have any hits together) Maybe they should have taken the Rembrandts and Phantom Planet tracks from the TV themes mix instead.

From what I've read, the idea of the sketches is to provide content that will be popular on social media - hence the references to Carpool Karaoke, which I don't think is even on the telly in the UK but everyone seems to know about it.
  20. I don't think anyone remembers the version of 'One For Sorrow' that was on the flipside of 'Chain Reaction'. It wasn't even promoted much at the time.

Apparently Tony Christie had a gig in Spain the night that TotP was recorded, hence Jarvis stepping in.

I saw a lot of people on Twitter doing jokes about that Usher song the other day because there was a story he'd given somebody an STD.
  23. I got a Site Advisor warning from that link.
  24. Good point, surely when he's got a new film out and is on people's minds is an ideal time to put a single out to radio, even if he can't do promotional performances for a few weeks.
