  1. I don't think that quite the same as a remix album though - I wouldn't count the track-by-track remixes of Beatles albums either. Love just about counts as one because there's some reinterpretation, not just trying to improve the sound quality.
  2. The Proms != The Last Night Of The Proms (let alone the ten minutes of it that these UKIP rejects have heard of).
  3. Can confirm - most people probably did like one band more than the other but I knew quite a few people who bought both singles. Even though I only bought the Blur single that week (I actually bought CD2), I picked up the Oasis one in a bargain bin a few weeks later. I never liked Roll With It as a song though.
  4. Did you pick those two out because one of them has "Oasis" in the title and the other one features one of Blur?
  5. After 13 months I've decided it's safe to add Polo G to the playlist! Also Guetta, Anne-Marie, Mostack and Tyler. I did a bit of maintenance on the rest of it too, fixing the bit where I put the wrong Spencer Davis Group song on and adding some tracks that weren't previously on Spotify. I'm particularly glad 'Tasty Fish' by the Other Two is now on there. https://open.spotify.com/playlist/66xACxprx...kTLGuv9WfQhD6hg
  6. I presume the chart entry for Go Your Own Way is a coincidence, as Peter Green wasn't in the band then (and I wouldn't be surprised if it sold at that level anyway).
  7. Just checked Bryan Adams but it turns out he was born in November.
  8. IS TONTY BALLET BEHIND THIS?

  10. It's a bit odd to refer to "Foo Fighters' Dave Grohl" on backing vocals on a Nirvana track, given that he was, y'know, actually a member of Nirvana and all. Also, that Bowie song is The Man Who Sold The World - The Man Who Fell To Earth is a film he was in but didn't do the music for.

Didn't the last Black Eyed Peas album miss the Top 100 though?
  12. Y'all acting like Gaga didn't already do a collab with Michael Bolton. OXfVf9lhTbs
  13. Alison Moyet has just retweeted a note about it.
  14. He does mention in the lyrics that he's been driving around in a stolen car and selling drugs, but to be fair he doesn't specifically explain whether that's what he was in prison for.

I didn't know there was a 12" of Beat Surrender!
  16. I wouldn't seriously disagree with any of those either, but that just shows how arguable it is I suppose.
  17. Bumping to point out that 25 years ago this week, two of the 14 'I Believe' songs were in the Top 30.
  18. I don't think you'll ever get any kind of definitive or official list because in so many cases the genre of a song is a matter of opinion, and so many hits include elements of different genres. Even the most clear-cut genres can be split into subgenres. That said, I can only think of one Number One that's ever been described as drum and bass ('Hot Right Now' by DJ Fresh).
  19. Made a couple of last-minute changes to my answers. Hope I don't regret this.
  20. I *might* have got the Chase & Status one if it wasn't so tightly zoomed in, I was mentally expecting a blue cover not a red one.
  21. Thanks. Now when I do that question I'll have to remember it's Family Fortunes and not Pointless.
  22. I'm not quite sure what this bit means? "(can be either single or album bother they’ve done both)"
  23. (double post)
