  1. The Wedding Present release a single called 'Jump In, The Water's Fine' on the 2nd of August. If that's notable enough.

The previous Two Door Cinema Club albums peaked at 24, 2 and 5.
  3. I saw somebody say that '74-'75 was in an advert, but maybe they were showing it during Love Island.
  4. No sign of She's Gone by Matthew Marsden Featuring Destiny's Child either! (yeah, I know)
  5. I know but I'm still recovering from .

Yes, I remember they cut a whole chunk out of a verse from 'Room In Your Heart' by Living In A Box.
  9. I'm a member of the BTO *starts massive stan war*
  10. Queen & David Bowie 'Under Pressure' - 1 Queen 'Body Language' - 25 David Bowie - 'Wild Is The Wind' - 24
  11. Did he have to think a lot about doing that, or was it just instinct? #90sreference
  12. Apparently there were other singles from the Gotye album, although in a 2010s context it's difficult to judge whether they were "released" in the UK. Still, he probably should have made another album by now.
  13. Coldplay - Lost (54) The Beach Boys - Bluebirds Over The Mountain (33) ...And I can't remember what the follow-up was to Dreadlock Holiday by 10cc but they didn't even make the Top 75 for another four years.
  14. That's an even worse name than Rixton.

Suppose we should be glad Sports Direct didn't buy the whole chain then.
  16. I think Jack Savoretti is more famous than Tame Impala in the UK, TBH.

There's another supermarket where it would be more amusing to find a record by James Morrison.

I didn't actually realise James Morrison's album was out this week until I saw it in a supermarket. Sainsbury's unfortunately.

We know that but surely those people already have his albums? Unless it's some sort of campaign.

Maybe radio stations are all so similar now there's no point? :teresa:

I'm a bit tempted by the Bingo Hand Job. Wait, maybe I should rephrase that... https://recordstoreday.co.uk/releases/rsd-2...bingo-hand-job/
  22. I get this, but I don't think that taking away the one thing radio can do that streaming services can't is actually going to improve that situation.

Spirit Of Eden was trending on Twitter last night. I'd guess maybe a few people have done what I did and finally picked up those last two albums in response to the news (I already had the Mark Hollis solo album).
  24. I suspect it might be more like the "80s Chart Show" on Absolute 80s (but with more decades obv) and I never listen to that because it's not even a real chart, more a bunch of records they play anyway that are from roughly the right time. As much as I'm biased, I'd find a show that was based on actual Now albums quite interesting as an opportunity to play some of the less obvious (from a present-day perspective) selections that showed up on there, but I can't see why they'd do that. Bit late to promote, say, Now 33 when it's been out of print for 20 years, surely?
  25. At least Jimmy Young isn't there.
