Pre-2010 artists still relevant to today’s charts
I don't know how you can class Ellie Goulding as relevant. Only 2 of her singles from her past 2 albums charted at all. And they were complete flops in the 80s. Being attached to a feature doesn't really count.

I wonder will there ever be Amazon/Spotify exclusive songs like Amazon do with the Christmas songs?

It's mad how Dermot Kennedy is 171 on Spotify and 10 on Amazon. Is the getting no support on Spotify or why is there such a disparity?

Christmas #01 2022 odds
What I don't understand about odds is surely Mariah Carey is more likely to be Christmas number 1 than Whitney Houston or Michael Bublé?

Spotify & Apple Music Chart Discussion
The charts seem to have got very stale since the start of this year with no real big artists releasing singles or a big worldwide hit (other than Encanto which wasn't massive worldwide). Like in Australia Heatwaves has gone back to number 1 and this was number 1 this time last year for a number of weeks. Also in Australia Stay went back to number 1 this year for a few weeks in February (it was already number 1 for 14 weeks last summer/autumn).

Strange how Still Dre was not much of a hit at all when it was released. Hardly charted at all in the US (where I presumed it would have been a massive hit as the US is more rap orientiated) and wasn't that big of a hit in the UK either. I'd say if it was released today it would be a 10+ week number 1 with massive strraming.

iTunes Weekly Thread w/c 11th December 2020
I was hoping it would be a Larger Than Life/Stronger style sounding song (You'd imagine they would do this sounding song if they did collaborate). The end result is very underwhelming.

Rockin' around the Christmas Tree seems to have gained more popularity in recent years due to being featured on US centric playlists? It was never really much of a Christmas song over here was it?

Anyone still looking at the sales chart?
Why is the Scottish Singles Chart still based on actual sales? Like this week an American boy band are charting at number 4?

Watch BBC Radio 1 now take it off their playlist like they did with Power Over Me when it was rising on Spotify. Power Over Me was weird as it peaked on I tunes, Spotify and radio all at different times and could have been much bigger. Where is Giants on Spotify playlists?

But after ROM and Stupid Love everything is either just weird sounding or very obscure with weird lyrics. Nothing commercial sounding really.

There are no commercial sounding songs on the album at all. Pure crap, just loud noise.

The UK Radio & TV Airplay Charts
So Stupid Love is the most played song on radio in the UK? This doesn't really seem to be translating in sales?

iTunes Weekly Thread W/C 3rd April 2020
I find this new Drake song extremely bland and forgettable. Nothing really to it. It's the most boring song I've heard in quite a while and I don't see it growing on me.

Why did Power Over Me have such a big drop yesterday?
-
Spotify Chart Thread [February 2020]
I presume Power Over Me was added to HH and that's why it's rising? I don't understand why they waited all these weeks? It was top 5 on i tunes and on Radio 1 A-List a week ago and now that it's dropped on I tunes and taken off Radio 1 they decide to start pushing it. I think the chance of this becoming a hit now has passed. Surely they would have realised this was an easy hit to get?

Spotify Chart Thread [January 2020]
What's the idea of pushing it at such a late stage? It was released last October. Would it not have been better to push it over a month ago? It should be on the way out

Songs that sparked a career?
What songs from artists have given them more success in the long run and taken their career to the next level. Like Dua Lipa was only doing ok with single releases up until New Rules was released but since then she is scoring bigger hits and is a bigger name. Also Calvin Harris was a fairly big name in in the UK but after We Found Love was released he became a big name worldwide and had bigger chart success.

Spotify Chart Thread [January 2020]
Where is Power Over Me? It's top 10 on i tunes and A listed on Radio 1. I thought this would be big pushed the 2nd time. It doesn't seem like its going to do anything much again.
