I suppose the classic Christmas songs we have now will still be the top songs in 20+ years. None of the more recent ones are really remembered or have become even remotely classics.

Ed is mad about the charts. It was probably he himself who wanted to remix the song so it could go number 1. He was asked in an interview not so long ago what was his biggest moment of the year and he said it was Shape of You going number 1. It's normally the record labels who are mad about chart placings not the singer themselves really. It wouldnt surprise me if he actually is on Buzzjack.

Why has My Only Wish This Year by Britney Spears never done anything ever in the UK? From a big established singer you never really hear it on radio. It's completely forgotten. It's a nice solid catchy Christmas tune I'm surprised it doesn't get more recognitoon. Maybe if it had a video it would help.

When are Little Mix due to release their new single? 24th with the release of the repackaged version with a performance on the X Factor?

Taylor Swifts 'single' is hardly setting the charts alight in the UK or worldwide nor the last song/single. Is this new one the proper single? I thought theye would want a big smash single before the album like Blank Space last year. This song by the way it's going isn't going to do too much chartwise like Ready for It didn't do too much. It doesn't seem like it's going to be a big hit single?

iTunes Weekly Thread W/C 15th September 2017
None of the members of 1D seems to be showing much signs of having a long successful career like Robbie Williams or JT or even signs of their initial success with smash hit singles. Im surprised their hits so far have had average enough success with no smash hit which people would actually remember (I had to think for a few seconds what the name of Zayns/Harrys first single was). The way they are going they will probably fade away in terms of success in a few years. Particularly Harry who seemed to have the most potential in terms of a big career had a fairly big single (not massive hit) then really faded away with no more hits from the first album, same with Zayn . I thought they would have at least a massive smash hit. Its all a bit underwhelming.

Is the U2 single from their upcoming studio album? If so there seems to be very little hype/talk about it.

Anyway Dua Lipa is really much competition and sales being so low. Should be easy number 1

Will Little Mix be credited? Is it a remix?

Why are sales so bad now? Just because there is nothing much big out? And topping I tunes for a few days isnt much of an achievement nowadays is it especially older acts like Pink should be topping I tunes for a while as sales are so low? Like topping the CD singles chart 10+ years ago.

Female drought at No. 1?
Rihannas next lead single will surely go number 1-or if not very close. How is Rihanna really the only female who is huge on Spotify and shes been going 12 years (and Ariana Grande to a lesser extent)? Also how does streaming favour males due to the demographic of its users? Do females not use Spotify/listen to music? Spotify really has hindered females, older acts and fanbase acts like The Vamps/Britney who could get a top 10 hit when downloads were top, now they barely chart

The UK/Canada are really dominating the music industry now with Drake, The Weeknd, Shawn Mendes, Justin Bieber from Canada and Adele, Ed Sheeran, Little Mix, ex 1D members dominating worldwide. It was always mostly the US producing the big artists now very few singers from the US are smashing (Katy Perry, Lady Gaga etc are not the names they used to bge)

So youd have no problem if they wore nothing at all and had music videos like porn? Is everything age appropriate then? What isnt?

Id say the chances of OLT going number 1 are extremely slim? I always feel she is very under rated in the UK especially, she has released some great pop songs that didnt really do as well as in the US (going by chart peaks anyway)with OLT being one of them and her album sales are very poor even her latest album hasnt sold very well. Will this elevate her career in the UK, or will this be a flash in the pan type success for a few weeks?

Im surprised Malibu isn't doing a lot better. It a very good song and sounds like a big hit. I really like it. I thought this would be up near the top of I tunes/Spotify. Female singers really are not doing well at the moment. Katy Perry/ Miley/ Lady Gaga etc really underperforming. Is the fact its Miley Cyrus its not doing great?

iTunes Weekly Thread W/C 2nd June 2017
I was watchinh bits of BGT, who performed instead of Little Mix? All the performers were really poor this year. No real big acts performed, and its not like there arn't much big acts that have new music out, there are loads Ex 1D members, Katy Perry, Miley Cyrus, Lady Gaga, Fifth Harmony, Selena Gomez etc. Very poor line up.

The Cure is still 59p. I thought it would go back up. They must be keeping it at 59p for good now. Why did some thinkit would go up this week?

Whats going to be the next music trend after tropical is over? With the success of Despacito could the Latin genre in pop music start smashing again like 1999/2000?

I'm surprised Bruno Mars That's What I Like didn't do/isn't doing better in the UK. Will it even go top 10 this week? It's a huge hit in the US, Number 1 on Billboard/Radio/Digital and I think streaming as well. He's a very popular and established singer in the UK with lots of hits. When was the last time a song from a big established artist was a number 1 hit in the US but not a top 10 hit in the UK? or the last time a song number 1 in the US wasn't a top 10 hit here?

I thought The Cure would be doing a bit better, it's 59p and it's not even top 10. Is it rising at all?

Katy Perry's Bon Appetite is absolutely bombing everywhere around the world. Is the song really that bad? Even if it was really bad you would think she would have some sort of a fanbase to push it up initially for the first few days. It didn't even reach top 10 on i-tunes in the US at all, no matter how bad it was surely it would be high first and then drop. I know i-tunes doesn't sell as much as it used to but then it should be easier for acts like Katy Perry with such low sales. Her last lead single Roar opened with 557k and this pre album single might only reach 20k. I know sales on i-tunes aren't what they used to be but still they are not that bad. Chart music seems to be dominated by males/dance acts could that be a problem also that its a pretty bad song?
