maggotsforbrains

just watch Tate McRae exploit the discourse cycle machine with Housewife to outdebut this because the general public have no taste 🙃 (hopefully this will remain a joke and not actually happen 🤞)

hell, I'd argue Tay Keith's production did more to help the song be a hit than BlocBoy's presence on it did 💀

Look Alive by BlocBoy JB (feat. Drake) hit #17 in 2018 and was #65 on the year-end chart - BlocBoy JB has not charted any other songs on the UK charts (needless to say, Drake has charted many, many other songs...)

#72 in the midweek chart! ❤️

Billboard 200: #51 (-45) - Popstar by Tinashe Hot Dance/Electronic Songs: #4 (+1) - No Broke Boys by Disco Lines X Tinashe Hot Dance/Pop Songs: #9 (+1) - Melatonin by Tinashe #15 (NEW) - Too Easy by Tinashe Hot R&B Songs: #21 (=) - Crash Out by Tinashe she's come a long way from the trenches of the Joyride days...

debuts at #93 on the Hot 100 - Yung Lean's second entry there after his feature on a Travis Scott album track in 2023 and GENER8ION's first time on the chart.

Popstar was #63 on the Spotify US album chart last week and held around the #15-#20 mark on the US Apple Music albums chart (albeit with the caveat that AM's album chart deweights catalogue album streams so it would've been lower over there in reality) so it's holding up pretty solidly on streaming at the minute!

yeah he found a girl who's in love with the girls 😭 (it was by The Vamps and peaked at #30 so if you include features he isn't really a UK one-hit wonder - also "Baby, you're mistaken / I'm not into bacon" has to be the worst way they could possibly have phrased it like what ?? 💀)

don't worry, she's still got plenty of time to push some digital remixes as well to get some downloads for another few weeks 🙃

Do You Really Like It? not quite, but I do like it a fair bit so it gets my vote (don't care much for Cheerleader oops)

I take it back, I'd take Deadbeat winning over TLoaS anyday! (given TTPD didn't do much at the GRAMMYs I'm sceptical of Taylor's chances but just watch as they give Bruno the award over actual ambitious, culturally impactful releases instead 🙃)

💔 at Treacherous going out, never quite got the hate for that one (also the last great american dynasty is a career highlight x) Best: exile (Out Of The Woods, 'tis the damn season + Snow On The Beach are all great too!) Worst: A Place In This World (Father Figure is pretty close behind)

hopefully but I keep getting a sinking feeling that LUX dropping back in last Novemeber hurt its chances at the big prize unfortunately - would probably see the two Olivias (Dean & Rodrigo) as the frontrunners with LUX as a wildcard (somehow get the feeling Noah Kahan'll get a nod too given the GRAMMYs gave Mumford & Sons AOTY back in 2013). not that any of this matters of course given the GRAMMYs are tasteless heathens anyways x

istg if this pile of subpar mid blocks an actually good album from getting an AOTY nod... (Dracula's good tho so wouldn't mind that getting noms so much, but some of those album tracks were bad)

out now! the longest single they've released this album cycle at 5:16

Thriller's already up to #68 this weekend on Apple Music having peaked around there last Sunday

at least we seem to have gotten rid of D-Block Europe (did you know they dropped a collab album with French Montana a few weeks ago that didn't even chart? it was as bad as you would expect btw, would NOT recommend it)

I know he's gotten some attention from COS OF YOU but can we please not give Digga any more hits? was really hoping we were finally rid of him but I guess not

Boston's chorus heavily interpolates Stick Season - she denied ever hearing the latter despite having dozens of acoustic covers of it on her socials

+5 the cure +4 Choosin' Texas +3 Stop The Wedding! +2 Training Season +1 Nicole Kidman -1 My Body Isn't Ready -2 Patient Zero -3 Great Expectation -4 Babydoll (don't hate this tho - only one song I actively dislike in the top ten now 😯) -5 Boston

they just played Stick Season right after a promo for STELLA LEFTY's Live Lounge on Monday

9 DNFs/retirements in only 20 laps!

the duet version of Babydoll is now charting on Apple Music at #197 (also Slayyyter's at #196 on Apple Music's pop genre chart so she might be able to chart on Spotify today 🤞 - Troye has a couple of album tracks there too with FF the highest at #159, Party at #186 and Canada Dry at #198)

and they're almost all bangers (we don't talk about Joyride...)
