CHART FORUM QUIZ: Julian's intros 2023!
I'm surprised not more people got 'Robbery' because I assumed the lyrics in the clip would be Google-able... just checking, the clearest words to me are "man" "what" "this shit funny" "strong as f***", and searching that gives you nothing but 'Robbery'! Or did people feel searching lyrics would be cheating? I'd have assumed it's allowed since NMTBJ clips are normally instrumental. Good song anyhow! 'Just Like Jesse James' is one of my favourite Cher songs too yet I did find it challenging! 'Knockin' On Heaven's Door' is a good shout for something similar-sounding; I had 'Fade Into You' and 'Every Rose Has Its Thorn' in mind. Don't know the other 3 of the last 5 - don't think I've even heard of 'Walking In The Air'. Surprisingly I still have 1 song left!

CHART FORUM QUIZ: Julian's intros 2023!
'Kelly Watch The Stars' was interesting to me because the melody reminded me of an Australian flop single, 'Gossip' by Vanessa Amorosi, and I remembered having the same thought with a song I once heard in a Heardle spin-off so I looked for what that was hoping it would be the same one, but it wasn't even close ('Oh Yeah!' by Green Day) I thought it might be something along the lines of Depeche Mode. I think you mean number 24 for Lightning Seeds - 25 was Chris Isaak.

Shall I confuse you further with the German-born singer Nina? :D NRTDgbdmNBU Always liked 'Satellite', surprised it didn't score higher as most people on this site have more Eurovision knowledge than I do!

CHART FORUM QUIZ: Julian's intros 2023!
Unless you're Jay-Z and it's 'death of auto-tune' :D I thought it sounded familiar but must've been thinking of something else similar as I don't know it, but I found it by thinking of a few possible bands and searching for thematically plausible songs. Never heard of the Snow Patrol song; interesting that 3/4 top 40 hits called 'Chocolate' were in the same year :o 24/04/2004 Snow Patrol Chocolate 24 {24}-38-44-53-57-73->6 10/07/2004 Kylie Minogue Chocolate 6 {6}-18-27-33-40-45-57->7 18/09/2004 Soul Control Chocolate (Choco Choco) 25 {25}-45-62->3 23/02/2013 The 1975 Chocolate 19 71-54-42-24-21-{19}-19-21-19-27-26-25-30-46-53-51-69-69R(12)-47-52-64->21 I know far more Eurythmics songs than I used to (read: about 10 rather than 1) but not that one! I love 'Right By Your Side' from that album though.

CHART FORUM QUIZ: Julian's intros 2023!
'Funhouse' 'Dancing' is the first one I didn't get! And damn, it sounded so familiar but my mind wasn't going in the right direction... I kept thinking it was something like 'C'est la vie' (B*Witched) or 'MMMBop' for some reason. I'm surprised 'One Too Many' almost matched 'Funhouse'! I thought the voice sounded like P!nk but had to look through her songs to find it. Not familiar with 'Life In Technicolor II' and not a good guess for the least-identified one either. I was surprised I managed to remember 'Scared Of The Dark'! I considered '1979' for the most-identified one as I feel like it's an extremely recognisable riff, but Buzzjack may not be the right demographic for everyone to know it... but even then I would've expected it to rank higher! Love the song. Why Don't We did a good sample of it in 2020 too ('Slow Down'). I love 'Connected' but don't know any other Stereo MC's songs. It really sounds so much like the intro of 'Money, Money, Money'!!! I even tried checking WhoSampled to no avail.

CHART FORUM QUIZ: Julian's intros 2023!
I was surprised 'Beautiful' only made #23! That's a really impressive run though. Do I get bonus points for including the Uncle Charlie Wilson feature that even the OCC omitted? :kink: (oh I just saw you mentioned him in your edit)

CHART FORUM QUIZ: Julian's intros 2023!
One of my favourite Little Mix songs! The absence of Sean Paul was obvious and I first thought maybe you'd picked the 'wrong' version, but later realised... 'Only You' is another great one too  Surprised how highly it ranks (in terms of scores)! Also now waiting for someone to eventually release a cover of 'Hair' that makes the top 10 :D

CHART FORUM QUIZ: Julian's intros 2023!
Fittingly another song that went on to peak higher in a cover version (that being Parra For Cuva's in 2014)! Both versions are great

CHART FORUM QUIZ: Julian's intros 2023!
So many guessing this for the most identified song! It was the clear choice to me, a very recognisable riff especially thanks to its 2 popular versions. (Also, feels like an unusual time of day for results / anything on this site to be happening - it's almost as if you've joined me in Australia :kink:)

"LadBaby pull out of Official Christmas Number 1 race 2023"
I think McFly's 'Baby's Coming Back / Transylvania' is the only one from this century. A post from Liam.k. with their sales annotated by me: Also relevant: U2 are surely far above 71k with streaming (when I counted once in 2021 they had the best streaming out of the list of uncertified #1s), so that leaves only 'Baby's Coming Back / Transylvania' being below 'Food Aid'. Notable that the Sam & Mark song is not available digitally (as far as I can tell), so maybe 'Food Aid' could end up overtaking it someday.

The UK #2 singles listening sessions - Week 22 poll
Favourite: most of mine aren't in the options! That said, although I really liked the #2s list, most of my favourites in this 2.5-year period seemed to land in #3-#5 instead (see the excellent bonus section picks), and also I felt like there seemed to be fewer songs loved by most than last week. Anyway, 'Starships' and 'Earthquake' are my top 2 options  Voted them plus 'Feel So Close'. Least favourite: definitely NOT 'Get Sexy' I found 'Heart Vacancy' fairly boring and 'Take A Chance On Me' just ok so I voted those as I much prefer the other 4. Thought 'Shame' might end up in the options as no one seemed to like it I think. Tiebreaker: 'Black And Gold'! Glad 'No U Hang Up' dodged winning (losing) after being in the (joint) lead most times that I saw.

2023 BPI Certifications
Could this be the highest certification for an instrumental piano piece? Others I can come up with: Gold (2022/01) - Ludovico Einaudi - I Giorni Silver (2020/01) - Yiruma - River Flows In You Silver (2020/07) - Yann Tiersen - Comptine d'un autre été, l'après-midi Silver (2022/06) - Ludovico Einaudi - Una Mattina Silver (2022/08) - Max Richter - Dream 1 (Before The Wind Blows It All) (this has 8 parts which I'm guessing may be combined? well, at least it has 8 parts on Spotify; seemingly the CD and download releases had them as a single track) Silver (2022/11) - Ludovico Einaudi - Le Onde Silver (2023/07) - Pascal Florent Rogé - Suite Bergamasque (presumably "Suite bergamasque, L.75: 3. Clair de lune", or do they combine the whole suite? also guessing this one might be from primarily Amazon as it has very low Spotify plays?) Ludovico Einaudi has another gold and silver one but they have orchestras/other instruments (I previewed them to check). Nice to see these get certified!

Number 2 Listening Sessions - Week 21 Poll
It can't be often that Nickelback are the least hated option! :D
-
Christmas #1 2023 odds & discussion
Only if it gains 25% in streaming (or gets manually requested by the label) though, right? Which would be challenging - if the campaign was to get moderate (but not massive) publicity, I could imagine it getting a few thousand downloads but barely gaining on streaming.
-
Christmas #1 2023 odds & discussion
I wonder if they'd get an ACR reset? If so, 'Back In Black' and 'Thunderstruck' get high enough streams that they might not be far off the top 100 as is if they were on SCR, so getting a reasonable position might not be that hard if the campaign gets some traction.
-
Christmas #1 2023 odds & discussion
Looks like they're trying a different song, not 'Highway To Hell' again: https://planetradio.co.uk/planet-rock/news/...mas-number-one/
-
Streaming Services Chart Discussion
I think Brenda has been fixed, but only Brenda. 'Rockin' Around The Christmas Tree' has 790m plays now, which sounds exactly like what it should be (and that separate instance of 155m plays has been re-combined with the main track). However, 'White Christmas' has 738m plays, compared to 396m in September, and all the songs I mentioned below (in bold) - and probably a few more small ones - are still combined with it. So I believe what's listed as 'White Christmas' on the Spotify charts (which dropped out of the UK top 200 today but only fell #16 to #31 in the US) still has ~1.8x as many streams as it should.
-
Streaming Services Chart Discussion
Finally! (Assuming you're right; their total playcounts are still combined but that probably hasn't updated yet.) I'm not sure if the glitch would actually affect the OCC, because I would guess that streaming services probably submit data by ISRC, i.e. a list of each ISRC and the amount of streams attained by it, and the combining that Spotify do in their charts and playcounts is separate from ISRCs (eg explicit and clean versions, or different remasters, normally have separate ISRCs but combined Spotify plays). So even though Spotify was incorrectly combining songs, the per-ISRC data probably would've still been correct. I can't think of a way to prove this though... maybe the glitch should've remained longer so that we'd eventually find out
