AF IDOL 2.0 | Pink Discussion Thread
Possibly, I'm not sure if they'd count as full singles or just radio ones (I didn't really pay attention to them). I don't think anyone would favour them though so it probably doesn't matter either way.

AF Idol 2.0 • Madonna Discussion Thread
Since I've been told non-charting singles don't have to be UK singles, you might have a few more options now! I believe the following are eligible: Everybody Burning Up Keep It Together Bye Bye Baby Love Don't Live Here Anymore ('Something To Remember' version, I think... I don't know this song) 'Bye Bye Baby' actually eligible this time :cheeseblock: But those first 2 are probably something to consider.

AF IDOL 2.0 | Rihanna discussion
Since non-charting singles are eligible (and they don't have to be UK singles), 'Break It Off' and 'Rockstar 101' can be added to the options! I love 'Rockstar 101' and it's definitely my favourite of the options now, but... I wouldn't be surprised if it had made her bottom 3 had it been in her rate :') So that probably doesn't make any difference to your choices.

AF Idol 2.0 ● Beyonce Discussion
Update: scrap half of the above since they don't have to be UK singles! Not sure if any of them are better options than 'Motivation' and 'Ring The Alarm' though. I'd totally support 'Party' but I'm not confident it's popular.

AF IDOL 2.0 | Pink Discussion Thread
Update: That means all the following are options: Can We Pretend Heartbreak Down Dear Mr. President Whatever You Want Secrets (Won't Back Down) 'Bridge Of Light' and 'Today's The Day' would probably count as singles but I doubt anyone would want them. 'Glitter In The Air' I think would be considered radio-only thus ineligible (and likewise for her various Australian radio singles). 'Whatever You Want' is still my favourite from the list, but 'Dear Mr. President' might be popular and well known? Or not? I have no idea.

^ Help me. Do they need to be UK singles, and if so, how do you define that?

AF IDOL 2.0 | Pink Discussion Thread
^ The expanded rules may help P!nk, but I don't know what counts. 'Dear Mr. President' was a 'single' that didn't chart, but I'm assuming it has to be UK singles, and it's safe to say it wasn't one. 'Glitter In The Air' was just a US Hot AC/AC radio single I believe so that's almost certainly ruled out. However, there are 'Whatever You Want' and 'Secrets'. It's a stretch to say they were promoted, but they both received music videos (I believe) and remix EPs, which is about all you could expect from post-album singles that clearly wouldn't get playlist support/chart success either way. (Even in Australia where both were radio hits, they spent a while each in the iTunes chart but never actually made the official top 100, apart from 'Whatever You Want' when it was an instant grat.) I'm not sure if they'd be better choices than 'Can We Pretend' or 'Heartbreak Down', but I really like 'Whatever You Want'! 'Secrets' is good too.

AF Idol 2.0 ● Beyonce Discussion
I'm guessing they'd need to be UK singles? But trying to define that is a minefield. I would think 'Put It In A Love Song' doesn't count since that was clearly skipped over/cancelled (except in Australia, where it was a genuine hit, and ironically the only hit from Alicia's album). I actually considered suggesting it for the 'songs without videos' round but thought it probably wasn't a better option than the ones she had. I love 'Party' and there's probably more of a case for it counting, since it had a video and the J. Cole single version, and probably wouldn't have done anything in the UK even if it had been ~promoted to radio~ (hence why they didn't bother trying - or maybe they did to no result, for all we know?). But even then it could just be classified as a US-only single. 'Get Me Bodied', once again, I don't know what status you'd give it, but I think 'Ring The Alarm' is a better option anyway. 'Perfect' (and 'Mi Gente' but let's not speak of that remix) would surely be cheating but also sending that would be like Ariana voluntarily sending 'Beauty And The Beast' :')

AF Idol 2.0: Calvin Harris Discussion
^ Ok that's the second time I've seen it accidentally mentioned, but you're not supposed to hint at an upcoming round :kink: (I was curious what he could've done for that theme though because I wasn't sure he had anything that could fit!) I looked at his below-#75 peakers on Wikipedia and thought 'Checklist' seemed like a passable choice, but it doesn't look like it would've been a good round for him either. Luckily, I guess.

AF IDOL 2.0 | Robbie Williams & Take That Discussion
I don't know how well liked it is, but 'The Days' definitely has potential. It was really unlucky to not be a UK hit - it was a top 10 hit in numerous European countries and Australia (and even spent a month in the Spotify global top 5), and had a UK release on pre-order, but it ended up getting scrapped. It reached #82 from streaming alone, in the early days of streaming being in the charts. I'm sure it's the most known song in the list by miles. I do like it personally! Though I don't think anyone would consider it one of Avicii's best (and no doubt the same for Robbie).

AF Idol: Ellie Goulding Discussion
I really like Seven Lions, and love another song from that EP ('Worlds Apart'), but even I'm not familiar with it  Having listened to it, I'd support it (though I don't think Ellie's voice suits it well), but assuming some of those album tracks are half-decent and pop-friendly they'd probably be better choices. I do moderately like 'Worry About Me'.

AF Idol 2.0: Girls Aloud Discussion
I'm assuming Nicola's album is on Spotify in the UK? It isn't here, which might be a disadvantage if she couldn't be on the playlist. I remember at the time being told 'Stand Up' was Cheryl's 4th single, which obviously didn't eventuate, but I remained under the impression that it had been a single for ages, possibly several years  That made me pay attention to the song at the time (and it certainly sounded like plausible single material!), and for that reason it's the only song in the list I'm familiar with. (Despite owning the '3 Words' album oops)

Just copy-pasting the list of options here for easy reference: #76 – Towards the Sun #88 – Consideration [sZA] #92 – Numb #94 – Selfish [Future] #103 - Desparado #105 – Loveeeeeee Song [Future] #110 – As Real as You and Me #113 – Love Without Tragedy / Mother Mary #120 – Drunk on Love #121 – Cockiness (I Love It) #122 – Red Lipstick #123 – Fool in Love #130 – Sex with Me #131 – No Love Allowed #136 – Do Ya Thang #142 – Raining Men [Nicki Minaj] #143 – Yeah, I Said It #145 – Famous [Kanye West] #145 – Love on the Brain #150 – Jump #155 – Farewell #158 - Woo #160 – Love the Way You Lie (Part II) [Eminem] #162 – Same Ol’ Mistakes #172 – Birthday Cake #176 – Roc Me Out #177 – Phresh Out the Runway #182 – Fading #188 – We All Want Love #190 – Umbrella (Acoustic) I would pick... 'Jump' I think, but 'Love On The Brain' and 'Love The Way You Lie (Part II)' would probably be more popular.

AF IDOL 2.0 | Pink Discussion Thread
'Can We Pretend' was incredibly average I felt. I find it hard to imagine many people wanting to vote it unless they have no better options. 'Heartbreak Down' is definitely better I think, and I feel like it might be better known through being on her Greatest Hits? I had to remind myself how 'Won't Back Down' sounds - it's my favourite of the 3, but yeah an Eminem song probably wouldn't be a good idea. In retrospect, sorry for pushing for 'Bad Influence'; I obviously had no idea of this theme (or that it made the top 200)

'Motivation' is my favourite song in the list! And one of few I'm truly familiar with. 'Ring The Alarm' definitely feels well-known for a song that wasn't really a hit - that would be my guess for the most viable choice (or maybe not given how many fans 'Motivation' seems to have!), but that's a question better answered by someone who actually knows all those album tracks. I haven't listened to 'Say Yes' in years but I did like it at the time and it seems to have a 'following' on here, I think it could probably get through in this round  Anything but 'Can You Feel The Love Tonight' :kink:

Buzzjack's Favourite Noughties Single: Heat 4 • 2003
The 'Spirit In The Sky' cover is one of the biggest cases I've seen of a song that doesn't work without the video - it sounded terrible on its own (not helped by me not having heard of the show), but made clear sense with the video. 'Is Will Young still available' is the best joke I've heard on a Comic Relief single  Whatever the opposite of 'comic relief' is... is the Ozzy & Kelly Osbourne song. It amused me that Westlife's #1 hit 'Unbreakable' is so irrelevant that it wasn't included on their 2011 GH (bar the deluxe bonus disc), and thus is only on Spotify via a random love songs compilation (at least in Australia). On top of that, #3 hit 'Tonight' couldn't even make the bonus disc - only the bonus DVD. True classics. I kind of admire the originality in S Club splitting their members' goodbye messages in half between the CD1 and CD2. +20: Ultrabeat - Pretty Green Eyes +19: Tomcraft - Loneliness +18: Mis-Teeq - Scandalous +17: Fatman Scoop feat. Kevin Lyttle - Turn Me On Disappointed Blazin' Squad's 'Flip Reverse' was only #84 despite being a #2 hit, that song was really impressive when I heard it in 2018 and has stuck with me since. One of my favourite boyband tracks (are they a boyband?) of this era. Nice to see Cam'ron's 'Hey Ma' having made the top 100 though. Poor Ja Rule and Ashanti having 3 songs they were involved together with in the 2002 top 75, then 'Mesmerize' only making #123. I couldn't remember how 'My Immortal' charted and hoped it might've been one of those songs with a 'low' peak but long run... but it's only #185 (not that the December release would've helped). I'm surprised Stacie Orrico's 'Stuck' wasn't a bigger UK hit. P.S. may I ask why 2000-2003 have the same deadline and then 2004 is like 3.5 weeks from now? I'd have thought it'd make more sense for them to either all have staggered deadlines, or all close at once at the end :P
