Will always love the 09/10 dancepop era of the charts. Was what started me following the charts! 2011 gets an honourable mention for Adele and 21 destroying everyone's perception of how an album could sell in a modern climate.

Definitely agree that the 'slowly increasing ACR ratio' is the way to go. This would also encourage labels to begin promoting a different single.

I think this year the charts have benefited from the ACR inclusion, but I think for the charts to continue being interesting, they'll have to manipulate chart data more and more as a compromise. I think it would be nice if streaming services such as Spotify did more to increase chart turnover (e.g. capping number of days a certain track can stay on a big playlist, or a new top 50 which uses ACR style rules, alongside the normal top 50). However, I think it must be celebrated that the music industry is recovering, and many people are finally for music again. And this should be celebrated, despite the less exciting chart climate.

I reckon spotify should maybe consider an ACR style chart that is promoted, maybe as the "Hot 50" or something, instead of the top 50... so older songs can drop out and give newer stuff the top 50 exposure. They could still publish the actual top 200 but promote a top 50 with a much better turnover.

Spotify doing an ACR style system on its chart would definitely help mobility in the spotify chart! I was thinking another solution would be to publish the top 200 alongside the top 50 - which would make it easier to initially break into for newer songs. Thoughts?

Agree - a gradual ratio increase would make a lot more sense.

Agree with this! Chart worked better on Sunday and would ensure totally accurate streaming figures are reported. Unlikely they'd do it, but we can hope :)

Hey guys, just wondered if any of you have heard the newly released Big Fish remix of Anastacia - I'm Outta Love? I think it sounds really current and really fits in alongside the likes of 99 souls etc currently. What do you think?
