He could so easily have hit number one last week. It mystifies me that he pushed it back to this week.

Looking like Ding Dong will drop from the top 40 this week (barring any effect of the funeral). Any other number two singles that have had the same fate?

Totally agree. It seems mainstream enough for the masses to catch on! Especially with Duke Dumont having a similar vibe in his song, and getting to number one.

I never got as irritated with 21 as I have with OVOE. Maybe it's the hair.

Where will Rihannas Pour It Up chart?
I think with a video she could make the 20s with this song.

Go away Emeli Sande please. I liked you before you decided to stretch OVOE for all it was worth. On another note, Top 100 smash for Caro Emerald this week (Tangled Up) and hope Jessie Ware can climb. Although, I doubt the latter, unfortunately.

Has single digital download reached its peak in the UK?
I think there will be a very steady increase over the next two years and singles will either flatten out or gradually decrease.

Will Rudimental make a dent on the album chart as well, then?

At the end of the day the song title is "Im in love with Margaret Thatcher" Those who buy it and those who see it chart will see the clear message of the title, not the ironic message of the song itself.

You're right. The BBC will want to push this whole chart battle for as much as its worth - especially with Thatchers funeral next week. It hasn't had publicity like this for a long time.

woah... Ding Dong, PSY, WWE, I'm in love with Margaret thatcher... What a week!

I reckon the everybody loves Margaret Thatcher will garner buyers from various political backgrounds. Everyone who objects to Ding Dong will perhaps consider downloading this! Number twenty now...

It may not be necessarily supporting Thatcher but both sides can appreciate the song. It isn't particularly negative either, more neutral. it isn't preaching hate and it's quite an entertaining song!

iTunes Weekly Thread W/C 7th April 2013
Is the song mockingly 'in love with Margaret Thatcher'? Or actually serious, acting as an opponent to Ding Dong?

iTunes Album Chart: 2013
Delighted about Caro at number three - well deserved!

It's not gaining as quickly on Kworb anymore... About 0.8 to Duke Dumont. Not sure if it would make number one as it stands regardless of rules.

They can't not allow a song to chart - regardless of anyone's view on the moral correctness of it. If people are paying money for a track (whatever your view towards their motivation) then they have a right for it to chart. That's part of what makes the download era so exciting. Look at PJ and Duncan; without downloads they wouldn't have hit the chart again. The chart has a obligation to reflect what the public is buying. And the song in itself is not offensive, just the meaning behind it.

Sorry, one more point: "Poor people didnt like Thatcher"... She got voted in three times. Some poor people must have liked her!

Will it set some chart records for Garland if it does hit number one?
