Yes, as Louis Walsh manipulated the charts about 15 times fot Westlife!! Manipulation has ALWAYS been in it. Very little is 100% organic. Spice Girls pushed back Spice Up Your Life to get a week at no.1, to avoid Elton John and Aqua! Anythin like that is unorganic, but that's the charts - Shakin Stevens pushed his sang back A WHOLE YEAR to get to no.1 etc etc

You'd think they'd want the added publiciity of a second week at no.q as well!!!! And it would end the Torygraph criticisms!!

It's basically just radio, people passivley listening to what has been chosen, and that then deciding the charts. It's not a real measure of what Xmas sangs actually ARE the modt popular. Some years ago before playlisting, it was the no.1 challenger to Mariah, as Wham wasn't popular back then, and it did come close... And with Mariah falling off in popularity a bit, victim of its own success, maybe now, all things equal, it would slightly overtake

This is one of the best xmas sangs in YWARS!!! Is it AS good as Tom Grenham, Christmas Without You? No, but still AN BOP!!! If this flops like Christmss Lights, One More Sleep, hristmas Without You, it is not the sang's fault. It has nothing to do with the wualoty and EVRRYTHING to do with American Christmas playlists. When we talk about sangs, we always say a sang is a singer's sang ... but is it more accurate to say the WRITER'S sang? For example, we say Katy Perry's Teenage Dream, but it was written by Bonnie McGee. We say Britney's Toxic, but it was written by Cathy Dennis. Bonnie McGee spent ages writing the sang and has various drafts. Often times, the sangs still have the vocals of the writers on them, like the chorus of Toxic. However, Katy Perry and Britney, or Madonna, or whoever else, hsd to record the entire sang, put their own spin on it, promote it, choose vocal styles, etc, and it's them who the public see performing it. So, who do you think the song belongs to? And what should we say? Shoulf we say, Katy Perry's Teenage Dream, or Bonnie McGee's Teenage Dream? Más, does this also count for covrr sangs? Should wer refer to the cover singer as the owner of the sang, or the original? Or, again, the original writers, if different?
