Britney Spears - Hold It Against Me (New Single)
This song is nothing close to dubstep - it just incorporates a very few elements of dubstep, just in the same way it incorporates elements of euro dance. That's what mainstream pop is, lots of specific genres distilled into a nice radio friendly package. It's not going to kill "proper" dubstep. It's not like a load of Britney fans are going to head to the west indian centre for some Iration Steppas.

Cher Lloyd - Sticks + Stones
Really? I don't get where all the negativity that surrounds her.... I never got the impression she was a brat or a diva or whatnot. I just got the impression that she was a bit misguided. The biggest problem with Cher was that for some reason Cheryl thought Cher's first audition was rapping - she said on one of the finals something to the effect of; "people liked Cher's first audition and that had rap in it, so that's why she's rapping." The truth is though that she didn't rap in her first audition - Keri Hilson's Turn My Swag On is an RnB song, not a rap song. And that was the problem, most of her songs in the finals were hip hop with lame raps instead of hot RnB songs. Personally, I'm excited to see what she releases. I just hope it's something like Keri's Get Your Money Up. She has the potential to hit the same nail on the head that Keri Hilson's solo career has constantly missed.

Nicole Scherzinger 'Killer Love'
I wish producers would only use REAL guitars. The guitar setting on your midi keyboard sounds terrible. This would be good if it had the original Timbaland production.

Britney Spears - Hold It Against Me (New Single)
I kind of think the opposite. The reason I like this so much is because it's definitely a Britney track and even though it fits in with everything else that's out right now, it doesn't actually sound like anything else right now (except maybe Take It Off). Really, it's not that great of a song; the chorus isn't strong enough to pull of the Only Girl beat drop and the verses aren't up to much. But there's just something about this that's a little bit amazing.

Jessie J - Who You Are + Singles
The live performance of this on Jools Holland was amazing but the album version is just yawntastic. Very bland pop which radio will probably eat up because it's so generic and non offensive.

Jessie J - Who You Are + Singles
I completely agree with this, although, even though Little Boots, Marina, Ellie Goulding etc had their mainstream promotion designed for the turn of year list makers, their development before did feel pretty natural, each building their own little fan base. This year it feels like the artists they're pushing on us are artists that no one really cares about. Jessie J's success so far just seems like the result of being the best of a bad bunch.

Shakira In Concert
I wish I could've gone! The pics and the videos look amazing. I'm going to try and catch the show next year...I think she'll be back in Europe in the Summer - it would be nice to see her somewhere like Spain.

Kesha - Cannibal // Remix Album
Blow is OK, but it doesn't have a good enough chorus. In fact, I think that's the problem with most of the songs on the Cannibal EP - the lack of a decent chorus.

Kesha - Cannibal // Remix Album
Apparently Blow is the second single from Cannibal. Eugh. Bad choice.

LEAST Favourite of 2007s best selling singles
I quite like it too... although I am a sucker for certain drippy American indie ballads.

Wretch 32 ∙ 'Traktor'
That line is the song's only gimmick. It's not great but at least it's not UK hip hop gone electro so that's some sort of blessing.

Take That - Shine. God that song still pisses me off. Other than that, 2007 was a pretty good year...

Keri Hilson · 2nd album 'No Boys Allowed'.
Well, All The Boys has grown on me a lot. I want to like this album cuz I love Keri...I just can't get into it.

Kanye West 'My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy'
The video isn't as good as that preview made out; I thought it'd be trippier. Still, pretty good though. Monster is the best track on the album, can't get enough of it at the moment.

Keri Hilson · 2nd album 'No Boys Allowed'.
I can't believe the general feeling towards this album is positive. It's just absolute dribble. IAPW was flawed, but there were some moments where she showed what she's capable of - hot club tracks like Get Your Money Up and strong ballads like Alienated. No Boys Allowed has only one highlight; Lose Control. PGR is the sonic equivalent of baby food and even the songs where she tries to bring it like The Way You Love Me are just an absolute mess because they lack the faintest suggestion of a hook.

Keri Hilson · 2nd album 'No Boys Allowed'.
Too true. She should stay being feat. Keri Hilson.

This album is lame other than Lose Control. When did Keri forget how to write catchy songs?

X Factor FINAL 2010
I just can't imagine what Matt is going to release. He's going to have to get someone to write an amazing electro pop dance song and then replace all the synths with MIDI guitars.

Diddy - Dirty Money 'Coming Home' ft. Skylar Grey
If ever there's a song that needs a "Part 2", it's this. Epic chorus. Lame raps.

X Factor FINAL 2010
Oh - and why did Cher do Where Is The Love? It's probably one of the worst BEP songs. IGF was good but the fact it was so short meant she didn't do the "I know that we'll have a ball..." bit. Dumb.

X Factor FINAL 2010
Matt was so bad tonight. His first song was an absolute bore fest and his second with Rihanna was an embarrassment - you saw his face go when he messed up and then when Rihanna came on stage I almost died cringing at how he reacted. HE'S SUCH A SLEAZE. And looked like a little boy caught in the headlights when she got up close. Cher was actually the best tonight - even though I'm always frustrated with her song choices; I don't get why she kept doing naff hip hop songs when what people loved was her first audition when she SANG an RnB song. It's beyond me why she never sang something like Knock You Down or Glamorous. Anyway, I hope she spends a year working with some decent writers and producers and comes back with something decent.
