Fave Album tracks...
Breakin Dishes is always mentioned in these types of threads but I really don't understand why...as a decentish album track I can understand (although I think Lemme Get That and Sell Me Candy Are Better) but as a single it never would've worked. It doesn't have any decent hook or any interesting production to compensate for the lack of melody. Maybe I just don't get it. Another thing I noticed in this thread is the amount of people saying Lady Gaga - Paper Gangster. I downloaded the Fame when it first came out in Canada so never got the new tracks (except Starstruck) so thought I better get this Paper Gangster and it's pretty good, even though it could without RedOne's "trademark" horn. But does anyone else think it kinda sounds like The Vengabus? "Don't want no paper gangster" - "The vengabus is coming"???

iTunes Chart: January 2010 (II)
Just bought Echo as well - mainly because a decent mp3 seems to be impossible to find but I really love it. It's about the only decent proper new song out at the moment so I hope it does well.

Girls Can't Catch ∙ 'Echo'
Just realised how amazing the bridge of this is. My other fave pop song at the moment is Ego and the bit that lets it down is the bridge which is more just a shouty section.

Diana Vickers - Once
Sorry, but I can't help it. I can appreciate the music but not the artist. The truth is she got a bit of a free pass to where she is. She may've worked hard on her album, but she skipped all the process that was needed to get to the point where she was even allowed to make an album.

Diana Vickers - Once
Once sounds great. She would've been up there with Ellie Goulding and Marina if there wasn't the X Factor tainting her credibility. And as much as I like her, it still taints my view of her.

Hopeful Next Singles
Shakira needs to release Men In This Town now.

Girls Can't Catch ∙ 'Echo'
I don't think so. I think this is going top 10 pretty easy. I see it on the video channels all the time and seem to hear it on the radio all the time too. I think it's a great little catchy pop tune.

Marina and the Diamonds 'The Family Jewels' // 15.02.10
I saw Hollywood for the first time today on Viva. Kinda weird seeing a Marina song after Jay Sean.

Predict: Sade - "Soldier Of Love"
I had never actually heard any Sade before this but Soldier of Love is seriously amazing. I saw it on a Lost promo and instantly went "I need to have this!" I would hope this could go top 10 but I reckon top 20.

M.I.A. - '/\/\ /\ Y /\' | 05-07-10
I posted somewhere that I wasn't really looking forward to this album because I wasn't too keen on the direction she was going in post-Kala. But this is EXACTLY the direction I wanted her to go. I always enjoyed her more laid back tracks like Sunshowers, Paper Planes and Take It Easy and really wanted to see what she'd be like doing some nice trippy song like this. It's perfect.

Amy McDonald 'A Curious Thing'
Doesn't sound like much of a progression from her first album, but that's not a problem cuz her first album was amazing.
-
Alexandra Burke - The Silence
Ah ok, I thought someone at the start of this thread said it was Tedder. RedOne producing a ballad explains the naffness. He's only good at ballads when he's using synth steel drums.
-
Alexandra Burke - The Silence
This is rubbish. It has the naff late 80s/early 90s power ballad sound that Battlefield has. Ryan Tedder needs to realise there is a limit to how many synth strings you can put in one song.

Shakira - She Wolf
This was in the Guardian today. Just thought it was quite funny: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v112/pudsack/img005.jpg

Marina and the Diamonds 'The Family Jewels' // 15.02.10
Yeah, she just made me fall in love with her even more! Also, very surprised she's not familiar with Lene Lovich. Bird Song is so similar to Mowgli's Road!

Lights | 1st album
Wish I Stayed is a bit $h!t. Other than that, I've only got Starry Eyed and Under The Sheets but I love them both. I don't think I'll listen to anymore, it'll probably make the album more enjoyable. I saw her live just before Christmas supporting Little Boots and every song she played was amazing so I have high hopes for this album.

Daisy Dares You (ft. Chipmunk) - Number One Enemy
Chipmunk pretty much ruins any credibility this song would've had. Also, when Chipmunk does this: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v112/pudsack/small.jpg Does it remind anyone else of when women do this: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v112/pudsack/speedad_narrowweb__300x4300.jpg Is he trying to tell us something?

Timbaland ft. Katy Perry ∙ If We Ever Meet Again
This'll probably be really big. It's catchy and there's a lack of big releases now.

iTunes Chart: December V
It's quite nice to see Video Phone failing to take off. Just proves you can't polish a turd.

Short Songs Indie/Punk/Rock
Florence and the Machine - Kiss With A Fist

Girls Can't Catch ∙ 'Echo'
This is good but I prefer this Echo: fLEvYaWiSrY

guess who's making a pop come back
It's about time. She was so ahead of her time.

Gypsy // 3rd Single
Eugh. This will only work as a single if it has a great video and gets lots of airplay...which could be possible but after DIA...I doubt it.
