I'm actually glad we're not getting Give It Up To Me. I think it shows that we can acknowledge decent music when we hear it. If it was a song on Timbaland's album it would be excusable but I'd rather Shakira not have to resort to this cheapo song to sell her amazing album to us.

    Video preview: http://www.antena3noticias.com/PortalA3N//...p;vervideo=true Looks amazing.
  3. If this was Timbaland feat Shakira, I would probably enjoy this. But the fact that she's selling her album with this lame-o generic tosh makes me really sad.

Men In This Town has to be the next single. Everyone I've played it to absolutely loves it. The singles for me should be: She Wolf Did It Again Men In This Town Gypsy Good Stuff Why Wait is growing on me but there's always a part of it that will sound like a cheap eurovision song (Javine???). It's nice live though; I love how she sings it like a rock song - "I got a premonition" - love it!

How I'd rank the album (best to worst): 10/10 Men In This Town 09/10 She Wolf/Loba 09/10 Did It Again/Lo Hecho Esta Hecho 09/10 Mon Amour 08/10 Good Stuff 08/10 Gypsy 08/10 Spy 07/10 Why Wait/Anhos Luz 05/10 Long Time
  6. I bought it. I actually find the album very disappointing. Maybe it's because I've had most of the songs for a long time now but I just can't really get into Nerina when she's all over produced guitars and synths. I'm so confused as to why Long Tall Grass Of Summer didn't make the album as well...it's so beautiful. Obviously she's got a knack for a hook, but I just can't get into the Right Side and I Don't Want To Go Out and Everything's Illuminated works so much better as an acoustic song than with all synths and electric guitars. I think I just miss the darkness and epicness of Fires. The Graduate just comes off a bit cheesy. Coming Home is easily my favourite and is the only song reminiscent of her old stuff. I don't mind all this though. I think of Nerina more as a musical entity now rather than a releasing artist because you can find and hear her songs in so many different ways and forms that the album sort of just seems an obligation rather than a necessity.

Did it? Or was it the relabelled Pixie Lott album?

Full performance: vCfV2bg5L2Q Needs the bass but you get the idea. Love the lyrics: First floor Room sixteen Smells like danger Even better Set your goals Bless our souls I'm in trouble But it feels like heaven You were like one of those guys The kind with a wandering eye But I said, "Hey, what the hell? for once in my life i'll take a ride on the wild side" You were so full of yourself But damn, were you cute, as well I packed my bags, I liked your moves Anyone could tell that it's hard to deny that I did it again now I've got it all wrong But it felt so right I can't believe it And all the mistakes that Went on for too long Wish there was a way I could delete 'em Eh, eh, eh, eh Ah, ah, ah, ah Eh, eh, eh, eh Ah, ah, ah, ah Second night In a row Back in trouble I don't get it Gotta keep it down It'll all be cool If we ignore 'em Getting better When it comes to men, it's known That I end up choosing wrong 'Cause I always trip and fall On the same old rock and repeat and go back How blind a girl can be To miss you hide your ring But I bought everything I'm so naive; and I should've known that I did it again now I've got it all wrong But it felt so right I can't believe it And all the mistakes that Went on for too long Wish there was a way I could delete 'em Eh, eh, eh, eh Ah, ah, ah, ah Eh, eh, eh, eh Ah, ah, ah, ah It might seem to you that I am in a place Where I'm losing the direction of my life But I'm sure that this is nothing but a phase And right back at ya, 'cause I'll survive It might seem to you that I am in a place Where I'm losing the direction of my life But I'm sure that this is nothing but a phase And right back at ya, 'cause I'll survive I did it again now I've got it all wrong But it felt so right I can't believe it And all the mistakes that Went on for too long Wish there was a way I could delete 'em I did it again now I've got it all wrong Eh, eh, eh, eh Ah, ah, ah, ah Eh, eh, eh, eh Ah, ah, ah, ah Eh, eh, eh, eh Ah, ah, ah, ah Eh, eh, eh, eh Ah, ah, ah, ah

That's disappointing in my book. She should've put one more English song on.

Kid Cudi is going to be on the single version of this. Good choice and should guarantee reasonable success in the US.

Very disappointed with that. Firstly, it's a pretty pointless performance because the song is already dead in America. This kind of performance (mimed or not) would've been useful about a month ago. Secondly, her excuse at waiting so long to perform has been "rehearsing." Rehearsing what exactly? Lip synching??? So frustrating. I just feel that that performance actually does more to damage Shakira's credibility than help her shift records. I mean, it's a pretty bad effort to mime on a talent contest. I just feel she has lost her adventurous side when it comes to performing. Remember the Shakira that did those semi acoustic performances of WW on CD:UK, and acoustic arrangements of UYC at TOTP and that incredible rendition of Objection at the VMAs? I don't know if we'll ever see that side of Shakira again. I hope all the rehearsals were for her UK shows because she cannot get away with miming in the Live Lounge or on Jools Holland.

Full song live: http://www.vimeo.com/6604136 This performance will be aired Friday so we'll have a better version then. Promosquad preview: fcZ75cNOBcw Personally I think it sounds EPIC and will be so good in clubs. Sophie Muller is set to direct the video soon.

So far this is what she has lined up: Radio 1 Live Lounge (24th September) Jonathan Ross (25th September) T4 (???) This Morning (???) Later With Jools Holland (???) If anyone knows/hears of any more shows she's doing please post them so we don't miss anything ;) Also, does anyone know the dates that she'll be on the other shows? I'm guessing it'll be throughout next week. Really can't wait to see her on Jools Holland. I've wanted her to do that show for so long now!!

The Calvin Harris mix and the Deeplick mix are on iTunes if anyone fancies giving She Wolf a boost.

Yeah, that cover is so much more effective. Maybe there will be a deluxe version or something with this cover used.

Doesn't look like Madonna even has a chance.

#3 now! Not going to buy it until next week though. The video is #1. Hopefully Radio 1 will give this some power rotation now. It's been on A list for a while but still not dented the top 50 airplay. I have heard it a few times though.

Dodgy vocals but surprisingly contemporary song. Can anyone else work out what the synth line sounds like?

I love the picture. Just the text is horribly done and so is the blue around the edge...I mean you look in the CD cover competition thread and there's people doing much more impressive stuff than this.
  23. I think it might be Click - it seems written with "hit" in mind. Nowhere near as good as some of the other songs but it sounds like the most single like song to me.

I love all the clips except Why Wait - it's just a bit dated, the whole urban ethnic thing...Timbaland was doing it better with Aaliyah. Gypsy is amazing: Instant love. Did It Again is great - love the verses and the catchy chorus. I think this is the next single, it kind of fits well with what's out there at the moment like Tinchy Stryder. Good Stuff is a grower and the beats sound epic.
  25. Well this isn't terrible. The problem I have with it though is that it doesn't seem to know what it is - an electro stomper or retro-esque pop. I think they've tried to make some slightly dated production sound all hip, trendy and other buzzwords by adding in the annoying alarms. If they had gone in one direction and produced this something like Crazy Chick, I think it would've worked better because the chorus is really catchy - I had it in my head after one listen. The best thing about this though is that it's a reality contestant lead single that's NOT A BALLAD. It's such a relief.
