  1. I think Bale will go eventually, I would be surprised if he is there when the transfer window closes next summer but I don't see it being this summer, almost certainly next Firstly Levy is a long way off accepting any offer, secondly by the time he did there would be little time to secure a replacement, thirdly Bale has recently become a dad, his parents look after the kid a lot, I don't see Bale clearing off to Madrid and just hiring nanny's in the early life of a child when it needs to bond with parents and grandparents This time next summer the kid will be about 15 months old, lot easier to go move abroad. Can never say never but i would say 20% chance at best of Bale going this summer
  2. Its unlikely but possible :) We finished 1 point behind Arsenal last season and they have not upgraded yet this summer We have added Paulinho and soon Soldado United and City have changed managers and no one knows how they will adapt I think Chelsea will win the title but we are a contender for Top 3
  3. Our top ITK says the offer is £45m cash plus those 2 players plus the loan of an unnamed Real youngster for a year He also says Levy is highly unlikely to accept the offer There is little or no chance of Bale going 1) He is the face of FIFA 14, in a Spurs shirt, can you imagine how much EA would sue Bale for if they have to reprint every copy of the worlds best selling sports game? 2) He has been paid a 7 figure sum as the public face of BT Sport, he would have to give that back plus compensation to BT It is just Marca / Real playing mind games hoping Levy will fold, wont happen
  4. There are in reality 6 teams in the Premiership United City Chelsea Arsenal Spurs Liverpool The rest are there to make up the numbers and fight among themselves for the remaining places, effectively a 2 tier league Of the teams that matter: Old Trafford - 75k Emirates - 60k Etihad - 47k Anfield - 45k Stamford Bridge - 41k White Hart Lane - 36k Chelsea are bankrolled by a sugar daddy so don't rely on capacity, so we have 9000 less people attending a home game than our nearest rival, that is probably revenue wise 20-30m a year or more, serious money We are smaller than Goodison, Villa Park, St James' Park and Stadium of Light yet on the pitch blow them all out of the water So we are punching above our weight, revenue wise we are 10th in premiership yet consistently finish in Top 4-5, great achievement
  5. Of our rivals it is by far the smallest, smaller than Old Trafford, Eastlands, Emirates, Stamford Bridge and Anfield by quite a distance The fact it is bigger than Hawthorns or Craven Cottage or Selhurst Park for example is of little or no consequence because those teams are not rivals for league places or players we are after
  6. We have the money for the stadium though, just the legals are taking ages to sort out like planning permissions and transport links etc, the stadium can and is being funded without the need for any adverse effect on player recruitment
  7. Also Bale would flop at Madrid At Spurs he is the big fish, everything goes through him, the players are eager to pass the ball to him to work his magic At Real Madrid Ronaldo is the big fish, the player that everything goes through Bale would be standing on the touchline hands on hips as ball after ball is sprayed from midfield to Cristiano Ronaldo thinking angrily to himself "why didn't they pass to me" Going to Real is a fast track way for going from hero to zero
  8. Yep our top itk confirmed the bid We turned it down as we don't need the money, the Sky tv money and sale of Modric paid for Paulinho and Soldado and we still have plenty of money to spend. If Real come back and offer 100m then I have no doubt Levy would accept
  9. We are punching above our weight, we have one of the smallest stadiums in the premiership, 35k capacity yet in last 3 seasons we have 2010/11 - Made QF of Champions League including beating both Milan sides along the way 2011/12 - Finished 4th in the Premiership, ahead of Chelsea the highest net spenders in premiership history 2012/13 - Finished 1 point behind Arsenal who have a 67k stadium with our 35k So for 3 years running we have made CL or cruelly missed out by a hairs breadth and there is no reason why we should not be fighting with Arsenal/Chelsea again this season We have bought the Brazillian Frank Lampard in Paulinho amazing goalscoring stats for a CM We are about to buy one of the best strikers in Europe in Soldado We have bought Chadli who averages nearly 1 goal per 3 games as a winger Sandro has resumed training and looks fitter than ever We have a brilliant young manager in AVB Arsenal have bought? - no one ;) Chelsea have bought a young german who may or may not be any good We have a great chance of making 3rd this season and with City rebuilding and doubts about how Moyes will handle the Utd job never say never...... Bale would be stark raving bonkers to go
  10. Bid of £73m rejected from Real this week for Bale, Levy standing firm still, think Real wasting their time tbh lol
  11. Dunno about Torres Hasn't worked out at Chelsea but he scores a lot of goals still at international and CL/Europa, I think he still has it, would take him at Spurs if he was like 10m
  12. Sturridge was scoring for fun last season and you got that Borini bloke so I think you will still score goals even without Suarez if he leaves, can see you maybe re signing Torres, with Lukaku there and this new German and Demba Ba cant see Torres getting many games and a new club would probably rebuild his confidence
  13. I think he will stay where he is He is banned for like the first 7 games of the season so I don't see him going to the scum Real have sold Higuain but he is a totally different type of player to Higuain, Higuain is a Drogba type player, tall and powerful so if they want Suarez who is a midget they will need to change their system
  14. We have no reason to sell though, we have plenty of money, not City/Chelsea levels but more than enough to have a good spending spree without the need to raise funds. There is no motive for Levy to cash in. Plus Bale has 4 years left on his contract so no risk of doing a Bosman. Levy has no reason to sell and Bale isn't trying to force a move, complete opppsite to the Modric/Berbatov situations, situations where Levy dug his heels in and was prepared to let the players rot in the reserves unless every last penny he wanted was paid.
  15. Don't see it tbh Levy and AVB are both adamant, AVB publicly as recent as today, that Bale will not be sold under any circumstances Levy is the toughest negotiator in world football probably and doesn't like losing face so unless Bale goes on strike, and there are no signs he will, then he will definitely stay Plus Bale has recently signed a 7 figure deal to be the public face of BT Sport for their football coverage, not a sign of a man about to up sticks to La Liga, not to mention he is on the cover of the new FIFA game, not to mention fact he has recently become a father. There has been nothing apart from Harry loving Spurs hating tabloids stirring the pot :)
  16. No chance of Bale going IMHO According to one of out top ITK's Real offered us Ozil and £35m, we rejected If we got a player like Ozil as part of any Bale deal he would be an upgrade on Bale tbh I am confident for the season, Paulinho and Chadli chip in with good number of goals and Soldado is better than Giroud I think Get a decent LB we will be fighting for Top 3 i think
  17. We are not out of the frame either Sandro nearing full fitness, Paulinho is a beast, Chadli has a great scoring record for a winger, Soldado is close to signing
  18. Yeah I wish the baby a healthy life from a human point of view but I just resent the fact that the baby and its family rule over us and live unrivalled luxury at our expense simply because of birth, at least a president even a ceremonial one is chosen by the people democratically and anyone stands a chance of being president in principle, I find it wrong on so many levels that this kid and its family are lording it over us simply because they were born to.
  19. All the sentimental claptrap about Lady Di has started too :/ At work this morning one of the directors (woman in her 50s) said "Diana will be so proud looking down from heaven" Good job i was not eating i think i would have thrown up. I am going to avoid all news channels and papers next few days
  20. I think I am just about the only person in the country that could not give a shit about this royal baby I wish it good health of course but beyond that I couldn't care less. I am opposed to the idea of a royal family, this baby will be born into a life of untold luxury and privilege funded by the likes of me just so that Americans can come gawp at our palaces. They will anyway so why the need for a royal family sponging off the taxpayer? Sooner Britain becomes a republic the better If we have to have a royal family let them fund themselves, all hail the new parasite

The 4 are interlinked Stronger the housing market the more houses will be built, jobs created for the construction industry p Strong retail market means more jobs created in retail Strong export market means more jobs created in manufacturing More people that are in work the more tax revenues Gideon gets so the quicker the deficit can come down. Most people vote with their wallets, if they feel secure in their job and they see their house value rising they are more inclined to vote tory, the economy and welfare reform will decide the next election not the NHS, education, fox hunting, gay marriage or EU. Prediction for 2015 - Tories largest party in a coalition or a smallish tory majority.

Its scary that 2 people who are polar opposites politically are agreeing on something :o :P but i think that state funding for parties would result in more transparency and maybe even more trust in MP's from all parties and an end to the 'x is in y's pocket' that gets put about all the time.

I think there is a very good chance of a Labour defeat in 2015, not necessarily a tory majority although that is possible, but certainly the tories as the largest party in a coalition. All the key economic indicators are heading in the right direction - More people getting jobs House prices soaring Retail sales buoyant Exports booming All these things will boost the tories if the good news continues up to 2015 Add in the fact the media will rip apart Miliband like hounds rip apart a fox too I think Labour have peaked and the tories bottomed out, watch the gap close strongly next 2 years and maybe turn into a tory lead

Maybe it is time state funding of major political parties was bought in, ban private donations altogether and each party gets an annual sum from the state to fund its offices and activities. That way big business and billionaires cant buy influence in the tory party and unions can't have labour in its pocket.
  25. Much as I have no time for the muslim brotherhood they were democratically elected in fair elections so I am slightly uncomfortable with the decision of the military to remove them from power and seemingly to arrest them. No one is going to have the support of all the people, I see a rinse and repeat job in a year or so when the next regime take power and people start gathering in the square protesting a few months later.
