I think a good documentary of the tour (please, don't make it a 15 mins thing, cos it's sad and useless) would be great if it'd include something from his SA gigs :) Ending it tonight ? So short, btw :( :( :( And I'd really have loved to see some European dates :( LifeLight

Michael Buble' & Nelly interview
http://www.enroutemag.com/e/september05/covera.html The enRoute Musician Sessions We listened in on conversations between three pairs of Canadian artists, and heard about everything from high heels to Bing Crosby to one-night stands. Compiled by Renee Gold Photos by Jocelyn Michel + Frances Juriansz Feminism and High Heels MB I’m just going to start by saying that when my career wasn’t exactly going strong, I thought that perhaps I’d be a journalist. So this is actually really cool for me to be able to ask you some questions, considering you’re my friend and I’m a huge fan of yours. NF Aaagh! MB You’re so cute, Nelly Furtado! Okay, so the first question that’s hugely important to me is about the Canadian music industry and whether you think we have our own “star system.†NF Star system? Well, I’m not sure. I thought it was all very civil and low-key. But when I came onto the scene with my big, shiny pop song and my big, shiny pop video, I was living by myself in, like, a little loft apartment. I was almost freaked out to leave my apartment because overnight everyone had heard the song and it seemed like, all of a sudden, there was more of a market for a tabloidy-type culture, which I found really funny. MB Both of us have been to many different countries. Don’t you find that each of those countries has their own identity? NF Yeah, they do. I think everyone has their own culture. In Canada, all the classic songwriters like Neil Young, Joni Mitchell and Robbie Robertson started that whole eclectic thing: “I’ve got my guitar. I’ve got some really earnest lyrics, some great melodies and wide-open space. I’m going to write some touching ballads.†And people have kept that torch going, everyone from Sarah McLachlan to Avril Lavigne – even someone like Tom Cochrane, who’s a great songwriter with super lyrics. There are all these great indie rock bands now, and everybody thinks they’re from New York. They’re not; they’re Canadian! Death From Above, Arcade Fire and Hot Hot Heat… It’s the most exciting music in the world right now, in my opinion. I never have more fun than when I’m collaborating with a Canadian artist, like with you or... I just did something with k-os. It’s just a lot of fun, you know? MB Cool, thank you. I can hear your baby crying… NF Oh no, no, she’s fine. She’s eating lunch. MB So how is being a mommy? NF I finally fit in! I’m not an alien anymore. I used to live in L.A. and I hated it, but I just spent two months there, and I thought everyone was so nice. It’s because I’ve got an adorable two-year-old next to me. That’s the thing: People are nicer to you when you’re a mother. You get a lot of respect. MB Has it affected your career in a positive way? NF Yeah, it’s made me work harder in a way. You know: Gotta keep the funds flowing; gotta keep on truckin’. MB I’m sure your priorities changed a lot, Nelly. NF Yes, definitely. Number one is my daughter: Is she happy? How are we going to create this life for her? It’s freestyle parenting in a way because we travel a lot. She comes everywhere with me, and she’s getting the best education I think a toddler could have. [Laughs] MB You know, it’s my dream to be able to do what I do and tour with the kids. NF It’s so fun, I can’t tell you! You’re gonna call me one day and you’ll say, “Nelly, you were so right! It’s so fun; it’s amazing!†I’m going to be touring again next year, so we’ll be travelling again. MB So you’re making the new record for that tour? NF I am recording my new album right now. MB Tell me about it, baby! NF Well, Michael Bublé and I are going to do this duet on this song called “Go.†MB Are we really? Are we? I’ll do whatever you want, you know. NF It’s really funky. It’s not like anything you’ve done before. MB You did “Quando, Quando, Quando†[their duet on Bublé’s It’s Time ] and it wasn’t like anything you’d done. NF Yeah, exactly, so right back at you, baby. MB So you’re making this record. Tell me how you’re feeling about it. NF I am ecstatic about it. I’m over the moon. I took an acting class over the summer just for fun, and it totally opened me up as far as just letting go of being self-conscious. It helped in the studio and in the writing atmosphere. MB Is there a theme to the record yet? NF Well, it’s probably going to be called Loose. MB Loose? So there is a concept, then? NF Yeah, there’s a concept. MB A loose concept? NF It’s a newer more liberated Nelly Furtado. I don’t have, you know, Daisy Duke shorts on or anything. MB It’s funny that you said that because I think, personally, that you are really sexy. NF Thank you, Michael! MB One of the big reasons I think you’re so sexy is because you’re this naturally beautiful girl who doesn’t seem to feel the need to wear short shorts. NF Yeah, when I shop, I’m always wondering, “Do these high heels compromise my feminist ideals?†Then I say, “It’s okay, Nelly. They’re just high heels.†MB Do you really think about it, though? NF I’m just finding a balance, you know? On this new record, you’re going to hear a softer side of me. On the last one, I was more comfortable in my skin than on the first one, but on the third one, she’s grown into a woman! You’re going to see a little more of the sensuality, but I mean that in the best way, in the earthiest sense. MB You were just talking about being self-conscious. Before I knew you, I figured that you had a lot of self-confidence because you seemed to be okay with being hot and just being yourself. So it’s funny to hear that there might be some self-conscious feelings there. NF I guess I’m kind of back to that place where I am very free and just don’t give an s-h-i-t, although I’m responsible about it. You know, I’m a mother now, so I’m not completely unhinged. MB It’s funny because if I look at someone like Paris Hilton, the first thing I think is, “Oh my God, she’s got low self-esteem. She’s self-conscious.†NF Yeah, I guess people respect themselves in different ways. MB I guess so. So where are you right now? In Miami? NF I’m in Miami, yeah. My cousin and I were just talking about how we like Miami ’cause all the girls just kind of wear whatever’s suitable in the heat and no one cares what their body looks like. I come from a culture like that. It doesn’t matter if you’ve got big legs, hips, whatever. You just kind of do your thing, you know? It’s very earthy. MB Okay, so my next question, honey: Your partner is a DJ, right? NF Yeah, he’s a keyboard player and DJ. MB Is the DJ culture affecting you? Is it making a big impression on you? NF When I first met him, years ago when we weren’t even together yet, I was enthralled by the sound. I love counterculture anything – whether it be break dancing or graffiti or turntables. Anything interesting and different, I’m attracted to it. That sound is all over my last two records. MB I noticed on Folklore, I could hear some DJ influence. You hear a banjo and you hear these really hot kind of folky, funky mixings that you don’t normally hear – world music kind of stuff. NF Yeah! MB God, I love you Nelly! What else can I say? Tell us about your wonderful charity. NF Oh, Sooke Potholes? Right on. There’s like 100 acres of this amazing space: a stream, hills to climb, great cliff-jumping opportunities. [Laughs] It’s just a gorgeous outdoor space, and I’m working with the Land Conservancy group in Victoria to make the Sooke Potholes a public park forever and ever and ever. MB Very cool. NF I’ve enjoyed it there since I was a teenager, so I’m publicizing it and talking about it a lot. The government’s already put up some money, and donations have been coming in from around the world. MB That’s pretty special for you to use your status to help people like that, hey? NF You know, you look around and we all feel it: The air isn’t quite as fresh anymore, especially in the urban centres, and we all feel it inside, don’t we? So whenever I have a chance, I try to get involved. MB Good for you, honey. Well, I’m going to let you go now because I’m sure you’ve got stuff to do. But I wanted to tell you that I’m very proud that you’re Canadian and I love that you’re my friend and thank you for letting me do my first interview with you. NF You’re a great interviewer, Michael. MB I feel like such a dork, but thank you. Michael Bublé’s sophomore album, It’s Time, has sold close to 3 million copies around the world. His song “Home†was a number-one hit across North America and his recent Canadian tour dates sold out in minutes. Vancouver’s Nelly Furtado is a Grammy, MMVA and Juno award winner. Her third album, entitled Loose, is due out this fall. LifeLight

Rudebox, the album: The reviews
Don't know if this has been posted... from Q Fallen Angel: He can do whatever he wants. But why, oh why, this? What a bizarre, baffling and downright strange record this is. Robbie Williams' seventh studio album is easily the most peculiar of his normally streamlined career. It doesn't even seem like a "proper" album, more a collection of b-sides and experiments that would ordinarily be saved for the end-of-career boxset. Or a Pet Shop Boys boxset, since one one track, We're The Pet Shop Boys (originally by obscure electro artist My Robot Friend - chorus: "We're The Pet Shop Boys!") seems like a mix-up at the playlisting plant. Another four of the remaining 16 songs are covers, increasing the feeling that something is not quite right at Williams HQ. Tabloid editors will find that Rudebox adds plenty to the saga of his tortued psyche. Staunch fans, such as the millions who turned out for his recent stadium tour, will ask one of two questions. Either, "Who's stolen our beloved entertainer, the brilliant song-and-dance man who brightened our the last decade of our lives?" Or, more bluntly, "What the hell is this?". For Williams himself, Rudebox is an apparently straightforward affair. "I suppose I've been trying to please a lot of people that are unpleaseable," he said recently. "Now I'm 32 and I've just gone, Oh f*** yeah, this is me." So how, exactly, has Robbie Williams pleased himself? He's decided to blow off some steam, billing Rudebox as simply a collection of songs and styles he loves. The reality is a sketchy mix of baggy, rap, electronic and pop tracks patched together by a whole gang of collaborators. His most recent aide-in-chief, Stephen Duffy, recieves a sole co-write, the Black Grape-lite of Keep On, plus a Hi-NRG cover of his 1985 solo hit Kiss Me. Elsewhere there's assitance from the Pet Shop Boys, fashionable New York hip hop DJ Mark Ronson and veteran dance producer William Orbit, among others. Inevitably, Rudebox is all over the shop, although not without flashes of excellence. On the few occasions that song, collabarator and the Williams chutzpah chime, it is indeed a blast. Lovelight (penned by UK soul man Lewis Taylor) is nimble RnB that channels the spirit of George Michael's Fastlove. Cheek is added to the swagger with the cover of world music nabob Manu Chao's King Of Bongo (retitled Bongo Bong here). The Gypsy punk original - about misunderstood musical prodigy, "a King without a crown" - is now a thumping OTT romp, with chav princess Lily Allen chirruping, "King of the bongos/I'm King of the bongos/Bong!" in the background. The Pet Shop Boys offer their usual class and polished synths, producing She's Madonna, an ode to the titular star's pulling power with a killer chorus: "I love you, baby/But face it, she's Madonna". And that's largely it for high points. All good pop stars are magpies and great ones - such as Madonna - make pilfered styles their own. Left to his own devices, without a Duffy or, God forbid, a Guy Chambers, to bounce off, Williams seems incapabale of editing hit output. The two junior baggy tracks, Keep On and Good Doctor, are particularly woeful. And not just because of Williams' ludicrous bid to out-gibberish Shaun Ryder ("Can't speak/Ting tong ting!"), but because he also mimics his intonation, attempting to plunder some kind of street cred into the bargain. Anyone who's heard the album's title track will also realise that what's currently fun for Williams isn't quite so terrific for the listener - it's hip hop as interpreted by Michael Barrymore. For Williams this may be the point; he's happy being "some end-of-the-pier entertainer", as he recently described himself. After all, it's helped endear him to the nation, not to mention baffle perfectionist America. Sometimes, though, being a bit shonky isn't charming, it's substandard. More worryingly, Williams sounds trapped, obsessing over his past during a final, vaguely themed section of the album that covers his childhood (The 80s) and the blissful interlude of acid house (the otherwise lovely, Orbit-produced Summertime). Sometimes he sounds like he's trying to bottle fleeting moments of happiness, others like he's still not grown up. (As Q went to press, The 90s, a track which covers the Take That years, was hauled off the album due to remarks about their manager, Nigel Martin-Smith). He lashes out even more wildly on barmy "secret" track Dickhead. A psuedo-Eminem rant arriving seven minutes after the close, its venom is aimed at anyone who's ever crossed him, especially rock critics: "What do you expect?/Dickhead!/Radiohead?/Dickhead!" It doesn't do him any favours, especially not when he warns "Size 10s, dickead!/Break your shins, dickhead!/My security is a dangerous crew/They'll kick f***/Out of you". If, as its authot insists, Rudebox showcases the "real" Robbir Williams, on this showing he's bored and directionless. Of course, he is also the leading British pop star of his generation, someone who's earned the right to do exactly what he wants. Including relase a confused folly of an album. But just because you can do something it doesn't mean that you should. ** - Average Download: Lovelight, She's Madonna and Bongo Bong Further Listening: The Human League - Hysteria Sly & Robbie - Rhythm Killers Mano Negra - King Of Bongo Pet Shop Boys - PopArt: The very best of Neil Tennant and Chris Lowe, electronic pop veterans and world-class songwriting duo, who lent their skills to Williams on the arch She's Madonna. ***** - Q Classic Lewis Taylor - Stoned, Pt.1 LifeLight

DVD Petition
Thanx truly ! I think I spotted the trick, btw ! It's It's not saying that there won't be a dvd, but it's saying that it's not happening this year. (when will the tour be over ?) Maybe they are planning a Valentine release... If Will's taking a break from recording, the chance to have it out next year is quite good, I suppose. Maybe it will be a dvd witha bonus live cd Official statements have always to be read very carefully :) I know I mighjt be wrong, but I wouldn't be surprised if a dvd would be out before Spring 2007. No new Coldplay album for five years?
No GH, please ! maybe 5 years after X&Y release... btw, I don't believe this... At early 2006 he said he wanted to release a new album on late 2006/early 2007 and then take a long break. Then before summer, he said the band wanted to wait a bit longer. Then on early summer, they said they planned studio session for the new album to be released quite soon. then they said they had new songs and they wanted to record them. then the webmatse of Coldplay.com said the new album was posponed to early/mid 2007 and then the break... And so on... I really don't know why they not confirm the dvd release, tho' ! LifeLight

Foo Fighters - Skin and Bones era
From Billboard Foo Fighters Acoustic Trek Heading To CD, DVD September 29, 2006, 12:05 PM ET Jonathan Cohen, N.Y. Three Los Angeles performances from the Foo Fighters' recent stripped-down tour form the basis for the live album "Skin and Bones," Billboard.com can reveal. Due Nov. 7 via RCA, the 15-track set was taped in late August at the Pantages Theater and spotlights an expanded eight-piece lineup featuring violinist Petra Haden and keyboardist Rami Jaffee. A DVD from the shows, boasting additional songs and extra features yet to be announced, will arrive later in November. The track list blends material from the band's half-electric/half-acoustic album "In Your Honor" with vintage cuts like "Big Me," "Everlong," "My Hero" and "Walking After You," plus the Dave Grohl-penned Nirvana B-side "Marigold," which the Foos had never performed prior to this tour. As previously reported, the band is keeping the acoustic concept rolling with a host of fall dates, including three shows early next month in Australia, Oct. 21-22 appearances at Neil Young's Bridge School benefit outside San Francisco and a run of support slots for Bob Dylan through early November. Here is the CD track list for "Skin and Bones": "Razor" "Over & Out" "Walking After You" "Marigold" "My Hero" "Next Year" "Another Round" "Big Me" "Cold Day in the Sun" "Skin and Bones" "February Stars" "Times Like These" "Friend of a Friend" "Best of You" "Everlong" LifeLight

Eve - Here I Am era
From Billboard Eve Drafts Top Producers For 'Here I Am' September 29, 2006, 10:45 AM ET Clover Hope and Hillary Crosley, N.Y. Eve is sifting through tracks for her upcoming fourth album, "Here I Am," a joint effort between Dr. Dre's Aftermath/Interscope imprint and Swizz Beatz' Full Surface. Eve will put the final touches on the disc by heading to the studio with Dr. Dre. Though no release date has been set, a single and music video are expected before the year is up. Eve refers to the album's production lineup as "the hip-hop all-star team"; the list includes Pharrell Williams, Timbaland, Cool & Dre and up-and-coming producer Neo -- not to be confused with Def Jam singer/songwriter Ne-Yo. The Swizz Beatz-produced track "Tambourine" is being weighed as the potential lead single, which will follow the unofficial summer release "Cashflow" featuring T.I. "It feels like a first album," Eve tells Billboard.com of her new offering. "I haven't been out in four years and I felt like I had to roll the dice. Why put out an album that sounds like [all the others]? I had to get out of the box -- for myself." "Here I Am" will be Eve's first solo effort since 2002's "Eve-olution" (Ruff Ryders/Def Jam), which bowed at No. 6 on The Billboard 200 and has sold 630,000 copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan. Eve describes the sound of the album as more experimental and instrument-driven. "I didn't want it to be too serious," she says. "When I get up -- no matter what time -- if I turn on music I move a little faster. If I'm driving it clears my head, so I just wanted to make a feel-good album that people can listen to and rock out to." Eve describes the Timbaland tracks as "really out there" and along the lines of the producer's recent Hot 100 No. 1 hits, Nelly Furtado's "Promiscuous" and Justin Timberlake's "SexyBack." "All Night Long" was produced by Pharrell and finds Eve singing, something the rapper had previously been reluctant to undertake despite persuasion from her label. "[Pharrell] made me sing a whole song. I finally got up the nerve [but] I feel like I was bullied into it," she jokes. "But it's one of my favorite songs on the album. I was really stressed about it but it was fun to do. I consider myself somebody who can maybe hold a note on a good day. I sang hooks before, which is super easy, but I had to get out of my comfort zones." Reggae artist Sizzla is also featured on a song and Eve is currently lining up another reggae cameo. "I listen to reggae all the time. It's always been my favorite music because of the melodies," she says. "I also listen to a lot of Brazilian music [and] a little bit of rock, so I wanted to bring all those elements, along with hip-hop." Not making a comeback this year is Eve's titular sitcom, which ran on UPN for three seasons. The rapper says she found it difficult trying to juggle both music and TV acting. "I was really excited about it but I needed to get away from it to do music 'cause there's no way you can do both," says Eve. "I'm sad on one hand 'cause I really fell in love with the cast but this is something that I really want to do. I missed music." In addition to perusing movie scripts in search of the perfect role, Eve is also revamping her fashion line Fetish to better reflect her style, and she recently partnered with a friend to form the film production company Shape Shifters. NEW ALBUM OUT BEFORE 2007 !!!
this is quite longer ;) from MTV Gwen Wants LP Out This Year, Finds Fashion Inspiration In 'Scarface' 09.19.2006 6:00 AM EDT Singer calls LP 'part two' of debut at Fashion Week show. NEW YORK — Gwen Stefani has great news for fans who want the singer to bring back her "Hollaback" vibe. "It's part two to the [Love, Angel, Music, Baby] record," Stefani said of her second, yet-untitled solo album. On Friday, the No Doubt singer presented her spring 2007 L.A.M.B. collection to rain-drenched fashion insiders such as Mena Suvari and Vogue Editor-in-Chief Anna Wintour. The new mom dished to MTV News about her upcoming LP, her fashion inspirations and 4-month-old son Kingston James (see "Gwen Stefani Delivers Baby Boy"). Stefani hopes the record, which she calls "ear candy," drops before 2007 (see "Gwen Stefani Holding Off On That Second Solo LP — For Now, Anyway"). She said she won't stray too far from what worked on her successful solo debut, even recycling some familiar collaborators. "There's a lot of songs that were left over from the last album, and there's some new songs I did with Pharrell," she said. "There's a lot of Pharrell on this record. I did some stuff with [No Doubt's] Tony [Kanal] and some stuff with Akon." MTV News also caught up with Swizz Beatz during Fashion Week (see "Fashion Week Update: Christina Milian Hikes Up Her Pants, 'Project Runway' Final Four Debut"), and he said he's working with Gwen too. "She's always taking it to the next level," he said. "I love her background for music. She likes a lot of Caribbean sounds with hard beats." As for her fashion line, Gwen took a page from Elvira Hancock's handbook. The "Scarface" blond bombshell, played by Michelle Pfeiffer, halted all conversation when she entered a room, wearing tight silk gowns, draping chemises and slick white suits with bold confidence and a no-nonsense attitude. All these qualities made Hancock the perfect inspiration for Stefani's L.A.M.B. collection. At the intimate show Friday, models wore blond-bob wigs and showcased more than 45 looks, including braided gowns, sweater tube tops, scoop turtlenecks, khaki suits, long cream gowns, off-the-shoulder dresses, yellow track jackets, gold motorcycle jackets and white skinny pants. There were lots of funky prints in the mix too, ranging from origami to cheetah to tie-dye. It was a much broader and more sophisticated line than last season's thuggish collection (see "Gwen Previews New Songs, Clothing Line For Diddy, Kravitz, Others") — which means L.A.M.B. could replace even more fashion lines in department stores like Bloomingdale's and Macy's. Stefani had on a long, sultry black gown with cheetah trim, wearing red lipstick with her hair in pin curls. "This was the dress that inspired me," she told MTV News about her outfit. "And it was a friend of mine that had this silhouette, and that's what made me start thinking about that time period — the Michelle Pfeiffer late '70s, early '80s. "And then I always have that Jamaican 1970s rude boy [look] in there," she added. "And there are scenes from some international, global-print inspirations as well. There were some old vintage men's kimonos that we got some of the prints from, and we always add in an animal print, so this time there was a mama cheetah and a baby cheetah. And just trims from India and stuff from Guatemala and stripes." Gwen's favorites include a gold motorcycle jacket that was "a vintage coat that I had bought while I was pregnant and we copied the fabric." She also loves the cheetah print and the "high-heel jean." "You can wear them tight or loose and with heels," she said. "They make you look really skinny. And I think the cheetah print will look good on anyone. It goes with everybody's personality. I always love an animal print." Stefani said she still has fun with the collection and calls it her "art project." "It's a no-brainer, fun thing to do compared to doing music, which is very emotional and hard," Stefani said. "That's the thing that weighs me down, but it also is the fire for everything. It's a draining, emotional process compared to designing, which is very greedy and easy." Gwen's hubby, Gavin Rossdale, told MTV News he was "clearly very proud" of his wife's fashion work. "From what I've seen, it's good," he said. "It's very stylish, and it's got lots of good attitude." Gwen's baby, Kingston, was backstage during the show. "The baby is amazing," Gwen said. "He just had his little food backstage, and now he's having a nap. It's bizarre how he fits in, and I didn't know how it was going to work out. He's just there, and it's just exciting to know that I can go around the corner and just kiss him if I need to. He's the most delicious thing you've ever experienced. It's like a three-dimensional amazing thing to my life." — Farrah Weinstein LifeLight
