  3. Eminem Album On Hold, Not On Schedule For '07 Says Rep Wednesday, 01 August 2007 Eminem's publicist recently shut down rumors that the Detroit rapper will be releasing an album this year. According to The Detroit News, rumors have been circulating the internet for months claiming that Eminem will be dropping a project this year. When a website named kingmathers.com surfaced, promoting an Eminem album of the same name, it added more fuel to the fire. The site, which is currently down, reportedly read, "Guess who's coming back? The first new studio album [from Em] in more than 2 years. Coming soon," before re-routing visitors to a hip-hop message board. Dennis Dennehy, Em's publicist, called the website's claims bogus and said that there is no Eminem album on the horizon. "There is no Eminem album on any release schedule," he emphasized. Eminem's last solo project was 2004's Encore. He released his greatest hits set Curtain Call and the compilation The Re-Up in 2005 and 2006, respectively. This year, Em has appeared on album's from T.I. and his protégé Ca$his. He is also set to appear on 50 Cent's forthcoming album, Curtis, hitting shelves on September 11. LifeLight

Bennett's "Unplugged", which introduced his music to a new generation of listeners in the throes of grunge, includes the previously unreleased audio tracks "(Just a) Little Street Where Old Friends Meet" and "When Do the Bells Ring for Me". The DVD boasts the music video for "Steppin' Out With My Baby" and interviews with Bennett and Elvis Costello. Meanwhile, Dylan's release appends "Dignity" to the CD portion as well as "Tombstone Blues", "John Brown" and "Desolation Row" to the DVD. LifeLight

  15. LifeLight posted a post in a topic in Madonna's Madonna
From Daily Mail (via MadonnaTribe) A look into Madonna's cauldron comes from this article by the Daily Mail, which is not exactly sharing anything big but rather re-compiling the most consistent rumours from the past few months, mixed with some accurate and already confirmed news (like the upcoming new 12 "English Roses" stories), and some not-so-accurate reports. "With the future of her son's adoption depending on an imminent visit by a child welfare officer from his native Malawi, Madonna is doing everything in her power to make sure she keeps custody of 18-month-old David Banda. Last week she flew back from New York - where she is recording a new album and house-hunting - to prepare for the arrival of Penston Kilembe, who is due to spend up to five days at the singer's London home. But the 48-year-old star's plans to be reunited with her family are to be short-lived. She aims to return to New York as soon as the inspection is over, to put the finishing touches to her new album. After a short break with her film director husband Guy Ritchie and their children, Madonna will then be working non-stop until mid-2008. "The finishing touches still have to be added to her new album, so she is flying back to the States once the officer's visit is over." Madonna, who has a daughter, Lourdes, 11, and a six-year-old son, Rocco, has already told her husband she will be working back to back from September. "Madonna has promised to take a six-week break to spend time with Guy and the children before embarking on her mammoth ten-month work regime," adds the source. "After the new record is released in November she is getting ready for a world tour that kicks off next June, then she is launching a 25th anniversary box set and a set of 12 children's books." A spokesman for Madonna declined to comment." LifeLight

  17. From http://www.scratchmagazine.com/online/?p=368 WYCLEF: “Lauryn Is Straight Up The Problem” In honor of the new issue of Scratch now being on stands (Pick it up, pick it up!), we thought we would let everyone in on a funny tidbit from the Wyclef interview. When our technology editor Paul Cantor interviewed ’Clef, he gave some interesting insight into why the Fugees reunion is now on hold. Namely, Lauryn wanted to act like a producer. Read for yourself: What’s going on with the Fugees reunion, or lack there of? WYCLEF: I’m officially Paul McCartney from the Beatles now. If the Fugees wanna come back, and Lauryn wanna come back…you can’t break the format. Don’t come back and be like, “I wanna produce a beat.” That’s like me saying I wanna sing an R&B vocal. When we was working on the album, I was like, [to Lauryn], “You need to do this like this.” [And] she says, “How do you know what’s relevant? I haven’t heard anything from you in the past like three, four years?” The minute she said that I was like, I gotta go back to working. So what’s ultimately holding you guys back? Lauryn is straight up the problem, bro. She wants to be a producer. Don’t come telling us how to chop up beats so you can get credit for it. What makes you think she would take the credit? We did a remix [with] Lauryn for John Legend, for the record “How High.” John Legend was saying our names. You know what she had [him] do? She was like, “Take off Wyclef and Jerry’s names.” Because she wanted people to think that she was the one doing the beat…I’m a producer and I’m a beatmaker with my cousin Jerry Wonder, and I’m a writer. She’s a writer, a vocalist, [and] a great [vocal] composer. And she’s great at picking out samples—she got 20 billion samples but can’t chop ’em up to save her life. So she hasn’t made any of the beats she got credit for? It’s real simple—if you did the beats, where are the beats? Show us one beat that you did. If you bring ’Clef to the studio, put an MP, put an SP, put a bunch of stuff, bring a bunch of cameras [and] say, “Clef, do a beat in two minutes.” The beat’s done! Bring Lauryn Hill in the studio with the same camera, say we give you three hours. Matter fact, f*** it, we’ll give you a month—do a beat. She can’t put it together! This is very sad :( LifeLight

  21. From Perez Hilton Just file this under unsubstantiated and possibly true but fun reading material either way. It gives us a sense on where things are going. Here is some info on the songs Madonna has reportedly been working on for her new album! ALL tracks are in DEMO stages and unfinished. The Candy Store clip that leaked is an EARLY demo, and the song went through a dramatic change, apparently. Here is the LATEST list of the 2007 RECORDING SESSIONS: ************************************************ ************************************************ ************************************************ 01. Sleep Deprivation 02. Turn It Up 03. Going Down 04. Little Thang (feat Justin Timberlake) 05. It’s The Beat 06. Tight Fit 07. Black 08. Off The Hook (feat Timbaland) 09. Candy Store (feat Pharrell) 10. Eleven Minutes 11. Do I Care 12. Freelancer.34 13. U n M 14. Starlight 15. Hit It Hard 16. Got This Down Right ************************************************ ************************************************ ************************************************ Now, here is some additional info on the album: *** SLEEP DEPRIVATION is a favorite by both Madonna, the producers and the label. VERY LIKELY to become a single. Apparently it’s ‘’revolutionary and fierce'’. *** GOING DOWN has really raunchy lyrics, and it started as a joke. Timberlake worked on it with Madonna. *** The rumored title PRETTY LITTLE THANG is in fact called LITTLE THANG and it includes a verse by JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE. It’s a ‘’midtempo summer jam with a fresh beat'’ *** BLACK is the rumored track called WIZZLE, and it’s ‘’organic, crazy and it will rumble your worlds'’ *** The rumored track called THE BEAT GOES ON is actually called IT’S THE BEAT. *** OFF THE HOOK is the Timbaland collaboration. Two were recorded, another one he’s saving for his next solo record. Single possibly, the executives loved it. *** CANDY STORE probably WONT be on the record, along with HIT IT HARD and DO I CARE. Apparently, Madonna is ‘’over them'’. *** FREELANCER.34 is ‘’very experimental'’ and still completely unfinished. Might become a sort of intro or outro to one of the songs. *** U n M is another label favorite, supposedly it’s something very new for Madonna. LifeLight
