Brexit has fractured and divided this country in a way that I thought Inwould never see in my lifetime, and this division will not suddenly be healed when we leave. It will continue and deepen and ultimately lead to the break up of the union. I would not be suprised if eventually, many number of years down the line we see a much weaker less influential England wanting to come back in, with the terms we are offered being much less favourable than what we have now, and quite rightly so, for all the S*HT we have caused.

What a ridiculous statement, and dare I say with the use of the quotation marks around wrong rather baiting. Firstly, if you mistakenly use the wrong pronoun then you apologize and use the correct one moving forward. No drama, no hate crime. Secondly, if you make a conscious effort to refer to somebody who goes by 'he' as 'she' for example, then that is on YOU and you ARE in the wrong. Mental and physical gender are two completely different things. You cannot force the mental to align with the physical. People who decide to live their life as the opposite gender(reassignment or not) to the one they were born into are not doing it for fun, y'know? You think they put up with the finger pointing, harassment and much much worse just to get attention? If after all that pain and suffering you can't recognize that refusing to acknowledge them as they want to be seen then that IS hateful. To admins, sorry for going off topic 😂😂

Well they would do if your explanations contradict evidence and fact.

If history has showed us anything, it's that forceably trying to cling to the past and become protectionist never works out for a state in the long run. It may satisfy oldies and near-deads but eventually younger generations who have to live with it will strive for something better, and they will here too, eventually.

It may disappear from the front page for a bit but the UK's exit from the EU will be an ongoing issue for some time. Especially as more and more people realize the implications of doing so. Especially under someone as reactionary and reckless as Boris Johnson.

It's not Fleur. In previous years when they BBC have selected internally the acts have NEVER dropped hints on Facebook. The beeb really doesn't like it, and the one time the act was leaked/guessed early(Blue) they confirmed it shortly after. So if it was Fleur, we'd have a statement by now.

This is a forum. It's for discussion between people. Yes by all means air your opinions, but when your opinions are challenged with factual evidence don't be surprised to be in a position where you have to defend them. We could have some very interesting conversations on here between two groups of people with opposing views who are willing to listening to each other. Better money? Living conditions? Weather? Easier to save? Experience different cultures, get a different perspective on life. This is the bit that still up in the air for me too. I'm perfectly fine to stay in Iceland, earn money, recieve healthcare, put into my pension etc, but the minute I set foot into Europe where do I stand with my UK passport in 2020? :(

I feel so shitty about all of this for everybody. Yes, as far as tourism goes there will probably be a similar system in place like what the EU has in place with Australia for example which I believe has 90 days visa free travel. So aside from longer airport cues I don't think tourism will change THAT much. Work is a whole different matter. :(

I don't necessarily agree with disrupting the celebrations to be honest. Was there deceit and a misunderstanding/lack of communication about the good and bad aspects of the EU during the campaign in the run up to the referendum? Absolutely. Will many people be celebrating something that in the short to medium term at least is going to make them considerably worse off without really knowing it? Absolutely, but remainers disrupting the celebrations will only cause further chaos. I'm sad that we're leaving, I truly believe it is absolutely the wrong decision, I will not be joining in the celebrations, but I'm not going to ruin someone's night of fun by doing something that will only cause further divide.

I'm guessing so since although I'll be living and working legally in Iceland I'll still be a legal foreigner with a non-EU passport. Theres still smaller details that are still up in the air. All this to please knuckleheads that won't even see any benefit of leaving. :angry:

I feel so bad for you guys. :( I've been very fortunate that a deal was worked out and ratified with the EFTA countries(Norway, Iceland etc) so that Brits who were registered as living here prior to Brexit can carry on as they do now. The only precautionary measure I've had to take is exchange my UK driving licence over to an Icelandic one as the UK one probably won't be recognized on Icelandic roads this time next year. That'll be another inconvenience for tourists who find that suddenly they need to get an international licence.
