  2. Kurt Russell Talks Elvis: Actor Kurt Russell is known for a myriad of roles in movies that span throughout his 52 year career, he even stared as ELVIS (photo right) in John Carpenter's 1979 biopic of the same name. Kurt Russell is an icon that many fans adore to this day. When Kurt Russell first started his career, he appeared in a number of television shows and supporting roles in a couple of movies. Not many people realize this, but when Kurt Russell was 10 years old, he was able to act alongside the King himself, Elvis Presley in 'It Happened at the World’s Fair' (see pic below) . Recently Melissa Molina asked Russell whether he remembered anything from his interaction with Elvis. When the topic of Elvis came up, he leaned up against the wall, a small twinkle gleamed in his eye as a smile spread across his face. ... “It was my first brush with a real celebrity. I’ve never seen anything having to do with a real celebrity before. I didn’t really know who Elvis Presley was. I was a 10 year old kid. I knew Elvis Presley was a name that everybody knew. If I’d seen him, I didn’t know it. I wasn’t into music and I didn’t listen to music that much. So the first time he came on the set, a car went on the set, round 5000 women just broke through there and jumped on his car. We were all staring and I was thinking what’s going on there. This guy says ‘Well that’s Elvis. We won’t be able to get him in on this round.’ They backed the car up… it was just watching them attack the car. Wow. To a 10 year old kid it’s like ‘What are they doing? What are they thinking?’ He came out later, through a different way, and he’s just this really nice guy. I was just this kid and I asked him ‘What’s the deal with all those girls jumping on your car?’ He could see that I was just this innocent kid and responded with ‘Ah they get crazy.’ I told him ‘You should never come in that way again, you know.’ So I remember that. I remembered him having his car completely jumped up with girls.” Kurt Russell's filmography continues to expand as he recently starred in the upcoming heist drama/comedy 'The Art of the Steal'. - Go HERE to see the full interview on ShockYa.com http://www.shockya.com/news/2014/02/13/exc.../#ixzz2vRXNdyiB (News, Source;NP/ShockYa/ElvisInfoNet)

Cheers for the clips, MusicMaster B-) He certainly looks the part! I'm not really a big Elvis collector, in that I don't go for rare records etc. I just enjoy Elvis music. I have got a lot of Elvis CDs, FTDs etc that I have bought. I particularly enjoy listening to the outtakes as it's good to see how a track evolved. I know though, that there are a lot of serious Elvis collectors out there :D

I was wondering who actually owns it right now. I know he didn't actually wear it at Aloha, but if EPE owns it at the moment, it's a shame that they're not keeping it for posterity. After all, it is part of history as originally, it was made for Elvis to wear at the concert.

  11. Not heard any more about a possible name change, but 54 years ago, a certain Elvis Presley was there B-) Elvis Mobbed by screaming fans in Scotland: Fifty four years ago this week, Elvis was mobbed by screaming fans as plane stops at Prestwick Airport, Scotland on March 2, 1960. The heartthrob was flying back to America after finishing his military service in Germany. However, their plane made a stop in Prestwick - which would turn out to be Elvis's one and only visit to Scotland. Wearing his full military uniform, the 25-year-old, posed for pictures, hugged fans and then asked: "Where am I?". Fans, mostly teenage girls chanted 'We want Elvis' as he made his way from the plane into a waiting car. Elvis chatted to the fans for a few moments then walked into the terminal buildings. Inside the terminal building the singer told them that he was looking forward to seeing his family again. He said his plans for the future, "Well, I want to see my friends and relatives before I do anything" There will be more movies. But Elvis said: "I would like to branch out and do something more serious. But nothing like Shakespeare . . . I know my limitations." 12. Great news that the Elvis stamp was the Postal Service’s top-selling stamp, when it was released in 1993
  13. Thanks for letting us know, Brian! Looks like ticket sales have been really good in the UK and I'm sure that Europe will probably be similar. Can't wait to see the show. I guess it will be just a little different to the ones I've seen before with the TCB Band B-)

'Elvis… Through His Daughter’s Eyes' New Video Tour: After two years the acclaimed VIP exhibit at Graceland, "Elvis… Through His Daughter’s Eyes" recently ended its run to make way for an all new VIP exhibit coming later this month. The exhibit looks at Lisa Marie's experience of growing up with a famous father and features items assembled by Lisa Marie and the Graceland Archives team. Home movies, toys and rarely-seen family mementos are among the many items that were on display. The new VIP exhibit - "60 Years of Elvis" – will open in this space on February 24, 2014. In this new exhibit, guests will explore the birth of rock ‘n’ roll music in July of 1954, with the recording of "That’s All Right" at Sun Studio. Click on the link for a 20 minute video tour of the now-closed Exhibit with Graceland's Director of Archives Angie Marchese and Sirius XM Elvis Radio's DJ Argo. http://new.livestream.com/accounts/5071764/events/2751988 (News, Source;EPE/ElvisInfoNet)
  20. Thank you for posting the clip! It's always good to see the younger generation enjoying Elvis music and he did a great job! Looks like the lad comes from my neck of the woods judging from the football banner behind him ;) not that I'll hold his taste in football teams against him
  21. It looks a great collection and the packaging is great! Fantastic to hear you wrote the synopsis. I always enjoy your contributions to the Elvis world, particularly in the Essential Elvis magazine B-)
  22. Thank you for the update, Brian! It was good to see a 'new' Elvis album in the record stores and the programme on national TV :cheer:
  23. Great to see that tickets are selling so well and that many venues are sold out! Looking forward to seeing the show in Birmingham in May
