ROBIN BECK - THE FIRST TIME 16th - SIMILOU - ALL THIS LOVE Once again in this round, 3 songs will be eliminated to get us down to 12 tracks remaining, the contest now really starts to heat up. Please start voting, TAW p.s. once again no question, Fedde Le Grand
  2. OK voting has now closed the result is given in the next topic (15-12).
  3. Well every vote counts, maybe Babs won't hold on for long. Please keep voting, this round's voting will close shortly! Thanks so far, TAW
  4. Round 1 has ended and the 2 tracks that have been eliminated from the list are as follows: 20th place - Mish Mash - Speechless 19th - Hi_Tack - Say Say Say (Waiting 4 U) These 2 tracks are no longer in the list. Round 2 has now begun so now choose the track you wanna see in the final 15 (the other topic is now irrelevant). Many thanks and happy voting, TAW p.s. once again my vote goes to Fedde Le Grand!
  5. OK voting is now closed. I did say sudden. The result is now given in the results page and the next round of voting will begin as well. TAW
  6. Well I'm sorry I don't know who exactly is this panel. But it's made up of 7-10 judges who decide from all international dance tracks (mainly Europe and the UK) for each month which are out. The panel was originally DMC (supposedly) and it's now supposedly handled by the ADM (Australian dance music industry or something over here). That is all I know, I'm just as puzzled as you are who this new panel are. Look mate, if you don't like what's going on with this competition. If you think it's fake, mythical or something then don't vote but there are plenty of others who have been voting for these tracks. The panel only decides the final 5, the rest is done to each of the 5 areas (see the november DROTY result for those areas). TAW
  7. Well I'm sorry but if you don't like the list then you don't have to vote but this is the list compiled THROUGHOUT THE YEAR from votes in all 5 category areas (just like this month was which BUZZJACK participated in). If you don't like it then go elsewhere but don't ruin this final. This is the 7th final that is being done since this competition started in 2000 and we've had no complaints about any of the tracks in the final. Agreed some of the tracks are weird (scissor sisters, Robbie Williams, etc) but the panel as I told you before and all the voted from people have decided it and there's no way of changing it. The reason those tracks are in is because if there's a decent remix done of the track: eg: Kurd Maverich on Robbie Williams, Paper Faces on Scissor Sisters, Armand Van Helden on Justin Timberlake. Then it counts as a dance track. That is the rule that is given because the track would be recognised in the clubs by that remix done. Anyway, if you have problem you don't need to vote but there are other forums (which I don't know about) which are involved in voting and since 2000 there has only been 1 major complaint. So this competition seems to be working very well to people's liking. Thanks for the votes so far keep it going, TAW
  8. Hello again sorry for the delay, busy things to do you know. Anyway here it is, above are the final 20 songs in all their glory from the past 11 or so months. Now the rules are the same as they are every year. JUST VOTE FOR YOUR FAVOURITE DANCE TRACK ABOVE. This is the first round so the 2 lowest scoring songs will be eliminated immediately meaning we have 18 tracks left. Here how the rest of the rounds line up Round 2: 18 down to 15 Round 3: 15 down to 12 Round 4: 12 down to 10 Round 5: 10 down to 7 Finally, Round 6: 7 down to 5 Then with the final 5, a final round of voting to determine which track is the DANCE RECORD OF THE YEAR 2006 and I can tell I'm looking foward to this year's final as it's going to be a close one in my opinion. With 5 no.1's up there and 3 top 3 hits in my opinion it has been an improving year for dance from last year. So enough talk from me, LET THE FINAL BEGIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Please start voting. You have 1-3 days to vote and the voting this time could close unexpectedly so get in your vote asap. Happy voting, TAW p.s. A tough choice for the first round but to ensure it gets through I vote for Fedde Le Grand - Put Your Hands Up For Detroit, a very worthy track from Data. Well Done!
  9. No Cascada didn't win but it was a very close race apparently. 1 of 3 songs could have got it. But in the end David Guetta got it so it is the final track to be placed in the final 20. Voting will begin for the final on Monday where 20 songs will go down to 18. TAW
  10. Well here it is the result. It was a three way race for the first wildcard round ever done in the Dance record of the year but the track that is the 20th track to go through to the final is: DAVID GUETTA v.s. THE EGG - LOVE DON'T LET ME GO (WALKING AWAY) Just if you're interested, Cascada was a very close second place. Anyway here is the list for the final 20 this year for DANCE RECORD OF THE YEAR 2006: Hi_Tack - Say Say Say (Waiting 4 U) Meck - Thunder In My Heart Again Madonna - Sorry Shapeshifters - Incredible Joey Negro - Make A Move On Me Mish Mash - Speechless Barbara Tucker - Most Precious Love Beatfreaks - Somebody's Watching Me Sunblock Feat. Robin Beck - The First Time Solu Music Feat. Kim'Lee - Fade Danni Minogue - So Under Pressure Bob Sinclair - World Hold On Supermode - Tell Me Why Similou - All This Love Justin Timberlake - Sexyback (remixes made this eligable) Scissor Sisters - I Don't Feel Like Dancing (ditto) Fedde Le Grand - Put Your Hands Up For Detroit Robbie Williams - Lovelight (remixes again) Bodyrox Feat. Luciana - Yeah Yeah David Guetta v.s. The Egg - Love Don't Let Me Go (Walking Away) Well here it is then the final 20. Voting will begin on Monday. That's all for now speak to you soon, TAW
  11. I think it's good. A possible "Raw Filler" on my show this week, it would be out over here in Oz till about May June. Mr.Exclusive here has done it again. Thanks JJ.
  12. so farm? ooh dear it must be late I meant so far. Anymore comments would be appreciated. The more points for or against are very much received.
  13. Very strong arguments here. The result will be announced shortly
  14. OK votes are now closed! The result will be given shortly. Many thanks again for voting! TAW
  15. Wow well spoken words there
  16. Well basically I'm the host for the radio show, since It's impossible to have no presenter on the radio for the Chart Show and I would announce the facts, micellaneous and chart information just before cutting the song of and moving on to the next track or advert break. Some of my friends have heard a little snippet of it and they agree that it could be a really good idea to do the Chart Show Radio Show. Thanks for the address and telephone numbers, might send them an e-mail sometime. Thanks for the votes so farm look as if I'll be going ahead with it. TAW
  17. Please keep voting you have one more day until I announce the final song through. It's going to be a close one this.
  18. This is looking good. I just hope the Australians will look it. I've got to prove that its a good idea to listeners. Hope it works! Thanks for votes so far, it looks as if I'll be going ahead with it.
  19. Well it's looking good so far
  20. Hi, In March here in Australia, I'm going on to my university's radio station (USU FM 90.9, University Of Sydney) and was going to use some of the effects from The Chart Show that was on ITV as part of my show. Unfortunately, Australia has never had The Chart Show on TV and some of my friends here are being quite neutral about it. However some of my radio show ideas have been given priase by some of the commitee board. I wonder if you could vote on whether The Chart Show would be good as a radio format as well as the obvious TV format. Please post replies, I'd love to hear what people think. Many thanks, TAW
  21. Yup this is true, THE CLASSIC CHART SHOW is returning to the vault on December 2nd at 11 am. I cant believe that this is happening but it is. However I'm a bit annoyed about this because I'm in Australia and unfortnately can't pick it up. Can someone please put the first repeat up on YOU TUBE so I can possibly watch it. I used to love watching as I think most of you did and I'd love to see it again. CAN SOMEONE PLEASE PROMISE TO DO THIS??????????? Anyway out of the darkness and into the light eh? Great news
  22. So this is the wildcard round to see which song out of the above list should be put through to the final 20 next month. This is a new round which gives tracks that have done well throughout the year who were unsuccessful in a particular month to have a another try at the final. As you can see the panel (as they are so called) have chosen 1 particular track from each of the big record labels. The choices are as follows: AATW: Cascada - Everytime We Touch Independant record labels: David Guetta v The Egg - Love Don't Let Me Go Data/MOS: Til West - Same Man Apollo: Route 33 Feat. Alex James - Looking Back Positiva: The Source Feat. Candi Staton - You Got The Love (2006 Remix) So due to this new round, 3 songs with the lowest amount of points from this year have now been eliminated from the final leaving space for the wildcard track. I will give the final list after the wildcard track has been chosen. In case you're interested the 3 songs to be eliminated are as follows: Sunblock - I'll Be Ready Chocolate Puma - Always & Forever Chris Lake Feat. Laura V - Changes These songs will not appear in the final 20 list. Anyway happy voting and the result will be given soon. Many thanks, TAW p.s. My vote for the wildcard I think goes to Route 33 - Looking Back, one of my favourite tracks of the year.
  23. OK so here's the result for the final month of the competition before the wildcard round and the final itself. So here we go: DJ's (non-superstar, general) 5th - Madonna - Jump (1 point) 4th - Fireflies - I Can't Get Enough (2 points) 3rd - Booty Luv - Boogie 2 Nite (3 points) 2nd - Robbie Williams - Lovelight (4 points) (the jurd maverich remix was popular with them) 1st - Bodyrox - Yeah Yeah (5 points) Clubbers (clubbers outside random nightclubs supposedly) 5th - Fireflies - I Can't Get Enough (1 point) 4th - Madonna - Jump (2 points) 3rd - Robbie Williams - Lovelight (3 points) 2nd - Booty Luv - Boogie 2 Nite (4 points) 1st - Bodyrox - Yeah Yeah (5 points) Forum (internet forums (including your votes)) 5th - Robbie Williams - Lovelight (1 point) 4th - Fireflies - I Can't Get Enough (2 points) 3rd - Madonna - Jump (3 points) 2nd - Booty Luv - Boogie 2 Nite (4 points) 1st - Bodyrox - Yeah Yeah (5 points) Magazines (journalists and writers supposedly) 5th - Madonna - Jump (1 point) 4th - Booty Luv - Boogie 2 Nite (2 points) 3rd - Robbie Williams - Lovelight (3 points) 2nd - Bodyrox - Yeah Yeah (4 points) 1st - Fireflies - I Can't Get Enough (5 points) and finally: General Public (random people in a street supposedly I don't know if this is true or not) 5th - Madonna - Jump (1 point) 4th - Booty Luv - Boogie 2 Nite (2 points) 3rd - Fireflies - I Can't Get Enough (3 points) 2nd - Bodyrox - Yeah Yeah (4 points) 1st - Robbie Williams - Lovelight (5 points) So the final scores for this month are as follows: 5th - Madonna - Jump (8 points) 4th - Fireflies - I Can't Get Enough (13 points) 3rd - Booty Luv - Boogie 2 Nite (15 points) Unfortnately 2nd place goes to: 2nd - Robbie Williams - Lovelight (16 points) and the top record for this month is: 1st - Bodyrox - Yeah Yeah (24 points) Now you can curse all you want at me but I had no control over this and remember the final is not far away so you can have a chance to vote it out shortly. If you do curse and be synical about this I will not be replying this is the result and It can't be changed. Still, Bodyrox has the highest amount of points for any winning track in any month of this year which is excellent. Definitely new rave is starting to impact on the charts. Coming next from DANCE RECORD OF THE YEAR is the wildcard round which I will be putting up in a couple of days time. I'll tell you more on how to vote in this round when it is posted. See you in a couple of days time when we start to finally do the final. TAW I will put the list for the final 20 up when I post up the wildcard round.
  24. What do you mean why am I here? I'm here because I'm part of an international team that does "Dance Record Of The Year". I have no idea who runs the whole thing and I'm doing cos It's a great idea in collaboration with ROTY on ITV. Anyway the results will be in shortly p.s. Robbie Williams is in their because it has a Kurd Maverick and Soulwax remix on it I'm afraid and the panel of 10 judges voted it in as well. THAT's WHY!
  25. Thanks guys, voting has closed. The result will hopefully be given tomorrow.
