The Saturdays have more "certified" hit singles that Girls Aloud. I'm sure I read that somewhere totally reliable like Wikipedia.
  3. Una, Rochelle and Frankie were on Sky News this morning doing a bit of promo
  4. Disco Love was played on R1 today followed by a little plug for the album! heard in on my way home just after 4pm
  5. if the new single is a cover (as part of this First Choice promo thing) it wont get played
  6. I expect all the dates to sell out by the time the tour comes, as there will have been the GH album & a supporting single. Maybe not Wembley Arena but you never know!
  7. was just on the phone to The Olympia in Dublin to book tickets for my mum to see Dawn French. I thought I'd ask about The Saturdays. Was told seats are close to sell out but loads of standing tickets left. Do people not like standing? I much prefer standing it has a much better atmosphere. Was gutted we got seats as part of the VIP package and not standing

not bad really for 3rd week
  9. Missing You or What About Us What About Us was the only single handled well from LFTW. They used radio very cleverly, there wasnt a day one of them wasnt on a major radio station promoting. Plus the Alar Carr interview was great!
  10. agreed. they have a few live dates planned in the summer which will help WAU as its a bit of a crowd pleaser for the non-diehard Sats fans

what did Gentleman, Disco Love, and My Heart Takes Over do in their first week?
  13. sorry for double post.... just went on Ticketmaster for the Dublin date. tickets for the seating area are sold up to Row M and there only is up to Row N. so that's good. still some standing tickets left. I actually would have preferred standing, but as I got VIP they gave us front row of the seats. but the standing area is in front of the seated area

they shouldnt be in that position .... but they are!
  15. for Dublin I got Stalls Row A for Birmingham Block B Row A (we managed to get better VIP tickets at 1pm than regular tickets at 10am for some reason)

honestly don't think they pushed hard enough for TV and Radio slots. more interested in personal lives

yes it is sad that "radio never got on board" but if they had got off their backsides and went around all the regional radion stations it really would have helped airplay. It might be hard enough to book an appearance slot on Radio 1, but if they'd went around the country to the regional radio stations like they did with Missing You it would've got more radio play I hate to be negative but I really do blame management & the girls for the poor chart position not Radio 1 / Capital as most people are blaming
  18. The problem with small venues though is in a way they are harder to sell Example: when they played The O2 in Dublin on the AFU tour, The O2 has a huge mailing list, huge billboards outside the arena, and features in loads of "What's On?" type brochures around Dublin. It also has a huge car park, and is the kind of venue people from Dublin regularly check what is happening. This time around they are playing The Olympia which has no parking and isn't as easy to access at The O2, doesn't have all the branding as The O2, doesn't have all the advertising as The O2, etc etc I am from Belfast are there are acts that can regularly sell out The Odyssey Arena here (12.5k) but struggle to sell out The Waterfront (3k) because it isn't as marketed. I would often hear people say "is there anything good coming up at The Odyssey" not "are there any good concerts coming up in the city" Larger venues tend to do their own marketing/promo on a huge scale, whereas smaller venues leave it to the artist really

if you search 'The Saturdays Not Giving Up' on iTunes you will see 2 EP's and the Single
  22. I see Ticketmaster are also selling some VIP packages, they must have held some back for Ticketmaster to sell
  23. I think Dublin will sell out quick enough, it's a small venue
