Excellent! Thanks for that, Mark :D There'll be a new feature as of this Sunday. Watch this space...

Yeah, though not sure if they would all be able to make it to the studio on the day. Maybe some would have to be pre-records?

Yeah, I had them both on last week so that's why they don't qualify. Maybe a few seconds of each could be played on the Top 10 rundown though. As for Cassie, well I suppose she could feature depending on how much of the video was played over the credits last week. Maybe if she could make it to the studio she could be on. No point in just showing the video again though.

  5. I remember my parents being upset as they were both Lennon fans. I think they played his music non-stop that Xmas!

I think the show should be on a Tuesday, then at least they've got two days after the chart to get all the acts together for the show. Failing that, let's have it back on a Thursday at 7.30 again :)

I think they should go back to letting Radio 1 DJs present it again. Someone on another forum has already suggested Jo Whiley and Scott Mills for this week.

Thanks. Not sure about Peter, Bjorn & John to be honest. I'd like to think they'd be on but no idea if they're in the country at the moment. If not them, then maybe Tom Novy, Panic At The Disco or Primal Scream could be on.

Just based on this week's Top 40. No favouritism. Based on the classic TOTP editions of the '70s and '80s.

Thanks. An album slot could work. When you say 'album of the week' do you mean the current No.1 album or the biggest new album released that week? I agree, it would be great to have TOTP back on a Thursday, though the chart is already 4 days old by that point. Before October '87, the chart was announced on a Tuesday and TOTP recorded the following night (unless it was live on the Thursday) so maybe two days is all they need to get a decent chart-based show together?

OK, I'll probably do this every week from now until I get bored with it. Based on the new Top 40, this is probably what tonight's TOTP would have looked like had the show not been axed. I have kept the length at 35 minutes but have ditched the two archive slots as they were only showing things we'd seen a million times anyway : TOTP 6/8/06 (presented by Colin & Edith) Cascada - "Everytime We Touch" (4) Rihanna - "Unfaithful" (2) (video) Captain - "Glorious" (30) Frank - "I'm Not Shy" (40) Snow Patrol - "Chasing Cars" (13) The Holloways - "Two Left Feet" (33) Paris Hilton - "Stars Are Blind" (5) (video) Similou - "All This Love" (20) Shakira featuring Wyclef Jean - "Hips Don't Lie" (1) (video) The Raconteurs - "Hands" (29) (video/credits) Any suggestions for future presenters or any other features that you think should be added to the show? Also, what day do you think it should be on? The obvious answer is Thursday (or Friday for some) but I think it should be Monday or Tuesday to give them time to get all the bands together for the show following Sunday's chart.
  13. Hi Rob. I would do but Poptastic has really picked up lately. You should take a look sometime :-) Did you get my email about the chart convention in London?
  14. They split in '87 not '97.

"SOS" still sounds brilliant. Apparently Glenn Matlock was inspired by this song when he wrote the melody to "Pretty Vacant"!

My favourites are "Jack Names The Planets", "Kung Fu" and "Jesus Says".

I'm surprised they haven't done better in the charts though. They haven't had a top 20 hit have they, though they have been on TOTP.

Maybe Duran Duran used it too?

Oh no hang on, Lemar is that guy who did "Is There Any Justice" or whatever it was called. I think the animal is spelt 'lemur'. You beat me to it, Jono
  20. Neil B posted a post in a topic in Television
    That's OK :-)

No, it's OK. The mistake has been made before. Brought is a totally different word of course. Not keen on El Presidente myself by the way. Are they named after the Duran Duran song "Meet El Presidente"?
  22. Neil B posted a post in a topic in Indie, Rock and Alternative
Sorry, I just find it odd that some people seem to think there's an R in the word 'bought' :-)
  23. Neil B posted a post in a topic in Television
It's Lamarr! A lemar is some sort of striped animal.

    Don't you mean bought it??
  25. It was number 35, week ending 6/3/93.
