Been checking out Hits Radio Dance today. I know it's more of a playlist, for now, rather than an actual station as there's no presenters, news etc. I assume it's designed as a Heart Dance competitor, but they have to distance it from Kiss Dance as there wouldn't be a point to having it if it was playing the same stuff, so I get that it isn't "that" up-to-date. When compared with the main Hits station and the post Jay has made above there's a few tracks I think are missing like Think About Us and even Satisfy. The station has the tagline "The biggest dance hits and throwbacks" but I don't think they're playing anything at all from 2026 (maybe Milky but it's not come back round again for me to check what mix it is). In fact this all they're playing from 2025: Disco Lines & Tinashe - No Broke Boys (June 2025) MK feat. Chrystal - Dior (June 2025) Calvin Harris feat. Clementine Douglas - Blessings (May 2025) The variety is good, albeit highly repetitive. There's some groundwork done here but I think there's a lot of room for improvement if they want it to take off properly. The Country strand seems to be much better thought out in terms of playlist and is different to Absolute so it can be done.

Giving it a listen now and I'm into Disc 2. I actually think it's a better, solid collection of songs than 123 was. Okay there's not many "hits" on there but as a compilation of actual good music it's there. That Duran Duran track is incredible and I'd not heard it before; there were occasions in the 00s and 10s where I'd buy a copy and find a song I'd not heard before and end up enjoying it so I like that continuing, especially in an age where everything is readily available.
