This week sees the 2026 FIFA World Cup commence and there's a whole album associated that has been released today. Shakira and Burna Boy have been given the official record title for the event this year and that lands in the UK Singles Chart at #87 today. As we brace ourselves for a 3 Lions return (there's a CD coming next week!), it got me thinking that over the years we've seen some great, some terrible and some persistently reoccurring tracks. From Baddiel/Skinner/The Lightning Seeds, New Order to even Dizzee Rascal/James Corden, is there a favourite that you have? Share some of them here and let's relive some memories and make some discoveries too. I particularly remember 2006 being quite the year with the likes of Crazy Frog, Tony Christie, Black Eyed Peas/Sérgio Mendes and Infernal (remember From London to Berlin?) scaling the charts. 1998 was also a big one with Vindaloo, Carnaval de Paris (definitely my favourite) and 3 Lions '98. 2010 with Wavin' Flag and its 20 million remixes, plus Shakira's huge track Waka Waka.
  2. Vertical is out today. Boys In Blue has also been added to the Radio 1 playlist.

I do feel like the weekday schedule needs a shake up again. Rickie, Melvin and Charlie can go and they also need to switch up Going Home properly as it's been a total mess since it started with its persistent line up changes. Sam and Danni should definitely move to weekdays. I'd like to hear more from Emil and yeah Minah has been great at covering where needed. Mylo and Rosie can replace Dean on Early Breakfast too as they've been great this week.
  6. We now have a video that displays the live visuals used at their concerts. A remix by Dansyn was played on Radio 1 earlier today.

  9. It gained a fair bit of traction from being a part of his Coachella set which circulated online and built up the hype for it. He's had a couple "bubbling under" hits on the dance and sales charts too so his popularity has continued to grow from there.

If they were to go that way I'd like it to be someone on the Square but new to running the place? I'm not sure who has the capability or the money (Max maybe? Ew). Failing that, Shirley to return with Lady Di the dog please.

Food Hub has been around for a few years now, it's probably my go to app for local takeaways in my area. I recall the Chinese takeaway near me saying they were ditching Just Eat because they took too much of a % of service fees from them whereas Food Hub are better in that regard.

Return confirmed for Spoiler Charlie Fairhead. I do feel like it's too soon? It's barely been 2 years and his exit was so well done (and final) that it'll have to be something major to bring him back surely.

  20. 4 episodes available of this initially then I think it's weekly every Wednesday. I binged all 4 yesterday, it's such an easy and funny watch. Really enjoyed the episode where Jeremy and Kaleb went to the Netherlands. I want Harriet to be in it more, that series where she covered for Kaleb was ace.
  21. Even though I was alive for Diana's death I do not remember it all. I'd say the earliest news story I can remember is 9/11, I was 9 years old and remember coming home from school to it being all over the TV.
  22. This is on the Radio 2 playlist from Saturday

A very good week of episodes really and it just shows with the right amount of effort (dodgy prawn food poisoning aside) that they can execute some fantastic acting, direction and overall storytelling. So many stories were sewn up this week with a couple of new ones thrown in. We now definitely appear to have a proper direction towards New Year, though whose murder Max was being arrested for is yet to be seen so there's still plenty to come too. I was very much prepared to give up on the show again a few months back but I am starting to see that it is worth sticking with again. I guess the show can't be perfect all the time and perhaps the spotlight had been given far too heavy handedly to some stories/characters over recent months. Looking forward to Denise and Chelsea being front and centre in the coming episodes and definitely keen to find out what's going to happen to Ian.
