Doctor Who • Joy to the World
^ very much enjoyed the new regeneration sequence and editing of the ending of that episode. Despite the heavy editing it was easy enough to follow the story and the right bits were shown. I'm yet to be disappointed with these newer versions of classic episodes.

EastEnders
Surely Whitney would've said to Zack she's not heard from her? Jack? Kat? Sometimes the finer details are lacking. I know they can't cover everything and I'm sure it'll be addressed on screen at some point because of the storyline cycles

Kelly Clarkson - Underneath the Tree
Looking back on the 2013 posts in this thread calling it a future modern classic shows Buzzjack has got a good ear

EastEnders
I don't think I'm ready for next week to turn focus on Suki, Eve and Nish. I seriously hope the New Year's Day episode sees him gone for good. Spoilers suggesting that

Doctor Who • Joy to the World
In your opinion. Can we not railroad every Doctor Who thread into these repeated wafflings x

Gavin & Stacey • The Finale: 2024 Christmas Special
I've had a little time to digest this now and can see why people weren't impressed. It was very much 95 minutes of the same stuff from each episode that has aired previously. Select moments were funny but it didn't feel like it was supposed to be *that* funny? The whole thing felt more of a fan pleaser than an actual attempt a finishing the show. I thoroughly enjoyed it but then I rewatch the show regularly so perhaps my opinion is blindsided by my general love for the show/characters that I can't see anything wrong with what we were given

EastEnders
Oh it's got to be Anna surely! There was a missed joke opportunity to call Cindy out for being found on her back again :kink:

What current chart hits could re-peak in January?
Yeah definitely here for The Days rising a lot, Dirty Cash too. No Bad Vibes from Jazzy could be big

Doctor Who • Joy to the World
Possibly my favourite episode of Ncuti's tenure so far. Echoing the comments about the Doctor's year with Anita. The Villengard is so intriguing I hope they continue to explore that arc some more. Nice touch to see Ruby appear too

EastEnders
4m and 4.4m viewers last night respectively, Part 2 put the show 5th overall. Up on last year a fair bit and really strong in the 10:30pm slot to increase viewership (though could just be people not switching over after Gavin & Stacey). Last night showed how "event television" still works on major holidays

Radio News
Emil Franchi has brought the 00s strand of Absolute Radio to the main Absolute station this evening 7-10pm to do a bit of showcasing. It does make me hope that they'll start putting some more effort into the decade station itself in 2025. The weekday daytime schedule is fine but it'd be good to see some genre specific shows, classic charts etc like they do with the 80s and 90s stations as the 00s grow more popular in terms of nostalgia.

EastEnders
Anna would be interesting. They can and will go there on occasions, just look at Bobby/Lucy and the shockwaves that's had for over 10 years. (Please can it be Jane )

EastEnders
The little nods to the past too like Ian smashing up the living room (reminiscent of Arthur doing exactly the same on Christmas 86) and Cindy collapsing under the tree (like Pauline Christmas 06)

Gavin & Stacey • The Finale: 2024 Christmas Special
I was literally shouting f*** off from the moment she came on screen

EastEnders
Nigel was before my time too but I've seen clips of him over the years. He was very good friends with Phil and Grant so I hope Phil gets to see him. We did get a brief (random) return of his daughter Clare in 2008 where he was mentioned sporadically, it would be good to see her too!

Pick of the Pops: The Noughties
Still lots of Christmas music floating around on that upcoming 2003 one as the 28th was also the day the chart was announced (Oops at my earlier post saying the last chart was the final one of the year. Could've sworn they didn't have 2003 confirmed for this week previously)
