I had a brief "I'll only listen to left field music" phase at uni so this might prove really easy or a challenge to nail something down. I was obsessed with Rob da Bank's show on Radio 1 back in the day.

Returns 23rd September. All episodes will be available from 6am on iPlayer or you can watch double bills on BBC One every Tuesday at 9pm and 10:40pm with the news sandwiched in between.

I'd imagine they'll continue with the pre-records if the Dance Party Playlist is anything to go by. They can get in 5-6 weeks of recorded shows, pop them out in the early hours of Radio 1 and then proceed to rinse and repeat them on Radio 1 Dance over and over again like they do with other shows. That's likely to be why it's not going out on there just yet. I agree though that with the DAB+ launch comes an opportunity to introduce more live shows and I hope it does come to fruition on both stations to make them stand out from the crowd.

Clocked that Party Anthems has been binned in favour of a rebranded show entitled Radio 1 Dance Party Playlist. The show is the same but looks to have been changed to fit in with the DAB+ launch of Radio 1 Dance (and it makes sense for it not to be an Anthems show when it mixes contemporary and classic tracks). In additon to the Friday 3pm show, a show is also going out Saturday and Sunday morning with Jess Iszatt fronting it. It would appear Chillout Anthems in its second incarnation has been canned. I guess we'll get more details in the coming weeks of the Radio 1 Anthems and Radio 1 Dance DAB+ launches and what that means for the schedules of those stations.

When the Sugababes did it earlier in the year it was a current single, a classic single and a cover track. I'd imagine they'll follow the same format here though it could be extended/special for the launch of Radio 1 Anthems on DAB+

I'd imagine it'll get explained away on screen by Billy perhaps. Maybe they'll introduce an off screen event like something to do with Bert (or even Les/Pam) that requires Jay to "leave"

Mentioned in the Radio 1 playlist thread that I'd been checking out Hits Radio recently as it's grown its exposure taking over many local stations. They're a rival to Capital/Heart but do appear to have a broader playlist when it comes to a current rotation. Lose Control and Bad Dreams have been dropped for Teddy but it does mean The Door is being played anywhere up to 7-8 times a day now lol. I'm not sure anything is obviously missing from the playlist at the moment, maybe Bieber or perhaps Olivia Dean. I'd imagine Eternity by Alex Warren will be added next if anything.
