Yep I agree with all of that. Robbie Williams will hate seeing Take That outselling him in the UK and I bet his next album will pull out all the stops. I also can't help thinking: is Gary Barlow planning to relaunch his solo career when Take That split up again! He must surely be thinking he could get another solo number one when Take That break-up!

I wonder if Take That could be bigger now than ever before? Robbie Williams became the most successful UK artist in the past decade because he reached out to fans through all generations young and old. With his splitting from Guy Chambers and his move to rapping, he has lost a large chunck of his audience. His music is vastly different from Angels or his swing Album. Meanwhile, Take That have mellowed. They have lost that camp boy band image. People aren't ashamed to say they like them and Mark Owen's Shine will move them closer to being cool. It's an amazing acheivement for them to come back and move their image on. Perhaps Take That are about to become the new Robbie Williams and will be Britain's biggest act? That they didn't pile on extra sales in week one that they didn't need to get to number one, could be an advantage. I think they will definately be number one next week and they will sell over a million copies. The media bandwagon with all their appearences and remaining at number one might keep them there longer.

How many weeks will Take That's album be at number one and how many copies will their new album sell? Consider the following: The album only just scraped into number one last week with 169,000 copies. This could bode badly or well. After a record speed sell-out stadium tour in the Summer And chart-topping Patience single. December TV, Radio and Magazine Publicity Blitz Most notably on TV: Take That documentary repeated on ITV last Friday. An audience with Take That on ITV straight after X-factor results. Take that Ultimate Tour on ITV2 repeated various times. T4 on Channel 4 today. Record of the Year Show with Patience likely to do well. X-factor Final performance Patience at number one for second week ensuring airplay remains high. TV advertising for the Ultimate collection and Beautiful World New Gary Barlow autobiography a best seller (currently 35 on Amazon) Little competition from Robbie Williams (who has frequently dominated album sales on run up to Christmas) Will Take That beat off the competition? Are there enough old and new fans for this album to see a Christmas gift rush like Oasis or the Beatles?

Take That will win. Take That are so big that they are the new Robbie Williams!
  5. So Take That need to sell what to get number one album next week? 150,000?

An audience with Take That next Saturday on ITV could help them stay at least a couple of weeks at number 1.

Not sure if these records would still hold.
  8. I have searched the net for info on this 104 million award. It looks genuine.
  9. There is confusion here. World Music Awards, yesterday: He got an award for selling over 100m albums Guinness Book of Records, the day before: He got 8 other awards. That photoshopped image is based on a fictional Guiness Book of Records Award.
  10. That certificate is photoshopped. I believe it is DOUBLE the sales of Thriller He received the following awards: Most Successful Entertainer of All Time Youngest Vocalist to Top the US Singles Chart First Vocalist to Enter the US Single Chart at Number One First Entertainer to Earn More Than 100 million Dollars in a Year Highest Paid Entertainer of all Time First Entertainer to Sell More Than 100 Million Albums outside the US Most Weeks at the Top of the US Album Charts Most Successful Music Video Source: http://uk.news.launch.yahoo.com/dyna/artic...tml&e=l_news_dm

This could have been number 1 without Take That. As has been said, Bunton's profile is sky high with Strictly Come Dancing where she is favourite, plus she will be on Children in Need on Friday. Charity singles usually reach 1 or 2 Telethon Charity Singles in the 2000s: Mar 01 "Uptown Girl" Westlife: Comic Relief: 1 Mar 03 "Spirit In The Sky" Gareth Gates/Kumars: Comic Relief: 1 Nov 03 "I'm Your Man" Shane Richie: Children in Need: 2 July 2004 "Some Girls" Rachel Stevens: Sport Relief: 2 Nov 04 "I'll Stand By You" Girls Aloud: Children in Need 1 Nov 04 "Do They Know It's Christmas?" Band Aid 20: 1 Dec 04 "Father And Son" Ronan Keating ft Yusuf: 2 Mar 05 "All About You" McFly: Comic Relief: 1 Mar 05 "Is This the Way to Amarillo?" Tony Christie: Comic Relief: 1 Nov 05 "A Night to Remember" Liberty X: Children in Need: 6 Liberty X was the poorest performing. Downtown is one of the best selling singles ever selling nearly 5 million copies worldwide in its orginal release. I do not think Emma Bunton does it justice. Her voice is too passive for this song, but I think she will be top 3.
