  1. I made the title about Gary, because on that day his huge picture and this story was on the front page of The Times, and above the fold.
  2. It's about Gary Barlow, because he is the most famous. He is the frontman of the band. He is also a TV personality with X-Factor and his documentaries. Most people in the UK cannot name all the members of Take That. They only know who Gary Barlow and Robbie Williams are. This is about Gary Barlow, because he is the most famous in this scheme. He is very current right now, and has built a squeaky clean "do good" image. Therefore, he is the most newsworthy. It is his reputation that is being trashed. This is his worst publicity since the media turned on him in the Robbie V Gary days. He needs to take control of the story by doing the right thing or face long-term damage to him and the band.
  3. It's not B.S. He has an OBE, largely due to his charity work. He has been on TV telethons pleading to poor people to give their money to charity, when he owes millions. As much as a fan that I am, unless he makes a statement to say he will pay back his taxes, he should be stripped of his OBE.
  4. Okay, this bad publicity is exploding. Gary Barlow needs some public relations to fix this, because the damage to his image is getting serious. Fans call for Barlow to be stripped of his OBE after tax dodge http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-26...heque-owes.html David Cameron attacks ‘aggressive tax avoidance’ as he is pressed on Gary Barlow court judgment http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/polit...nt-9353156.html He needs to give a news conference and say that he is sorry and announce that he will pay all the tax avoidance back.
  5. Wow! Just saw that, So saved from falling out of the top 40, and almost getting number one! All we need is for the England to do well in the World Cup, so Greatest Day helps keep it in the charts longer, maybe a new Take That documentary and then we'll be into promotion for the new Take That album, and Since I Saw You Last COULD remain in the charts until next year! A lot of Ifs there!
  6. http://tomorrowspaperstoday.com/ I figure all publicity is good publicity at this point.
  7. The album is now 15 on Itunes - or on the Artists' chart (without compilations of various artists) number 8!
  8. Here's the video - looks like they were cautious about spending money!
  9. Here's a link to the song if you haven't heard it: http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/new...rld-cup-3271024 Gary Lineker - don't give up the day job. Mel C steals the show.
  10. Well, he's got the tour starting Saturday, Mother's Day - including special offers and airplay for the new single, so maybe back in top 10 is possible.
  11. Surely this is destined for number one? Gary Barlow seems to have modeled his recent career on the Pied Piper--a musician that encourages others to follow along and join in.
  12. Could the next single sales be boosted by Gary Barlow publicity and airplay surrounding Greatest Day?
  13. Very true. It was a good show, but I don't think the sound quality was there. His voice often seemed drowned out by the music. But the whole thing was a Gary Barlow concert. I expected something more of a New Year show - maybe a bit of fun with the audience - a couple who were going to get married on New Year's day up on stage, a serenade to a fan, a bit of talk about the past year, a few more guests. So, I see why some people are critical.
  14. I watched the concert and I had to smile because suddenly I realized why so many people were critical of the show. I did enjoy it, but I think the format wasn't right. He should have had more guests and maybe some humor in there.
  15. The TV special next week should help: Face to Face with Elton and Gary. Gary Barlow's dream of recording a song with superstar, Elton John, is documented with exclusive interviews and behind the scenes footage - only kidding!
  16. I hope the New Year gig makes its way to Youtube - I've not seen it.
  17. The midweek could only have two days' impact since his New Year gig, plus Face to Face has gone straight into the A list on Radio 2 playlist, so it could be tight.
  18. Face to Face has gone straight into the Radio 2 A playlist.
  19. That's incredible! At its peak, he reached nearly a fifth of the UK population! How can he not be number one?
  20. Bond Bug posted a post in a topic in UK Charts
Gary Barlow's album is number 28 on Itunes - he was on 70 at the New Year - goes to show how strong supermarket sales are. Also, it's the first time I've seen him on Amazon number 1. Looks like he's going to number one on Sunday! Who knows? He might even be there for several weeks!
  21. Gary is a bigger star right now than at any time in his career. Not only that, but Robbie is back with his biggest album for eight years. Just imagine how big the next Take That album will be! It's going to be flipping big!
