I thought I heard that "Lovelight" was a cover version - can anyone confirm?

I've heard the album 3 times now and it's a very mixed bag. I have bought every Robbie album so far and downloaded this one to preview it before buying as I was a little apprehensive about it. I enjoyed "Intensive Care" but it lacked the spark of previous albums. The "Rudebox" single grew on me but can understand why it wasn't a huge hit. I know that it has put some people off of buying the album but it's not a good representation of what is on there. There are so many different styles of songs on there and I'm sure that I'll come to like most, if not all, of them. What I do think though is that some of it sounds a bit underproduced and unfinished. The album lacks direction. I'm a huge fan of The Human League and Robbie's version of "Louise" sounds like a demo recording using really cheap electronic equipment. I wish he'd got the Pet Shop Boys to produce this song. His cover of "Kiss Me" is good but not as good as the original. There are some really good moments... "Lovelight", "The 80's", "The 90's" and some lyrics which will make you laugh out loud but it all sounds a bit disjointed. "Summertime" is a great song and it's a bit strange seeing it on this album as it's a few years old and has been released before. It leaves you wishing that Robbie would work with Guy Chambers again. "Dickhead" is just a stupid song which should have been a B-side. If you really like Robbie's previous work then you will enjoy this album but it's not a classic album. It sounds like a bit of a clearout of material. I will buy a copy of the CD so it can't be that bad but ROBBIE PLEASE GET BACK TOGETHER WITH GUY! PS Can someone tell me how many cover versions are on this album?

Thanks to all who take the time to provide the new release info. Also, I think it's time that "ANNIE LENNOX - BEST OF A DIVA" is removed from the album listings. She has confirmed that she is working on a new album therefore a best of must be a couple of years off at least.

Popjustice has just posted a review: Robbie's 'Rudebox' is the best thing he has ever ever done. (We mean the album, not the single. Obviously.) It's funny and sad and danceable and sitdownable and just generally VERY GOOD INDEED. I think that the album will do well but maybe not be among his biggest sellers. I'm still looking forward to it (the single grew on me but it wasn't a good 1st single)

Even when the physical single dies, there will still be a download chart so no change really.

I thought that the BBC2 controller disliked having TOTP on his channel which was why TOTP2 was "cancelled" (at least in series form anyway) so it's surprising to hear that it's coming back (a pleasant surprise though). TOTP2 had good ratings on BBC2 and must be fairly cheap to produce so was surprised that the BBC didn't exploit it more. There was a DVD release a couple of years ago. I don't know how well it sold. I know that the BBC charges a fortune for artists to use TOTP footage on DVD releases which is why few artists release their TOTP appearances. I wish UK Gold would re-run the full shows from the 70's and 80's again. I didn't have cable or satellite when they first aired them a few years ago.

Is it coming back for a proper series or are you referring to the "special" episodes we get once or twice a year? Do the BBC realise this? They've hardly gone out of their way to make money out of these archives. I would love to see a "TOTP" channel (similar to "The Box" etc.).

I think top 15 for this one. It's hardly had a lot of exposure. It's an ok song - not one of his best. Didn't realise that he'd moved record company again. Has the tracklisting been released for the new compilation?

I didn't know that Sugababes had released a new single until I saw it in HMV. Even though I personally think that he's a t***bag, I would have expected at least top 10 for Duncan James' first proper solo single. I was really surprised that both hadn't made the top 30.

I think that it will struggle to reach the Top 40 without major promotion. It's a great song from a great album - a real return to form

Whatever happened to her "comeback" single. She performed it on Children In Need last year (in Scotland only, I assume). It was pretty c**p.

Good choice of single but don't know how well it will do considering how old the album is.

We only have a WH Smith in my town plus one small independent store which gave up on singles long ago. I order any singles from HMV online but find them a bit slow to deliver at times.
