As well as X Factor actual appearances,there's always the chance that a super rendition by one of the contestants of a song will push the original back into the chart. Let's hope it's something different and not yet another cover of Read All About It/Clown/A Thousand Years....

But the old songs coming back are always Adele or Emeli Sande or Beyonce that seem to be the staple diet of the X Factor. It would be very nice for a long forgotten track to be dragged up by a contestant-there are plenty of killer tracks on 60s and 70s albums that never get covered and if they got a week or so in the charts it would be well deserved.-let's have someone doing a Neil Young or Van Morrison or Johnny Cash or Pink Floyd track on the X Factor and introduce people to some classic songs.

30th Sep looks a killer run-there's easily a dozen songs there that could feasibly make the Top 40. Unfortunately,I have a feeling it will be the Dizzee Rascal/ Nelly/ Nicki Minaj ones that go in high,but there's some good stuff by bands like 2DCC that wouldn't be amiss. The Hugh Laurie single would be an interesting addition to the Top 40. And what's with 23rd Sep?-The Christians,Depeche Mode,Gary Numan-Have we gone back to 80s week?
