Bobkiller

Just had a glance down the current top 40, 13 that I liked. What I hate about it is the lack of variety, the mindless pop songs. The songs that really stand out to me are the ones that are different (demons, riptide, f for you, all of me ect.) I also don't like the staying power big artists like Katy perry for example, are getting as it makes the charts stale and also prevents new talents rising up and new music being discovered because of the overshadowing of the current big artists.

Every song is noise.

I am 14 and still listen to radio a lot. I think capital is absolutely abhorrent due to the absolute limited availability of genres (IT'S ALL DANCE POP!!) and the fact that it is terrible genre that it is limited to. They also are really bad at promoting any new artists as all they care about is getting listeners and for some reason half of the uk seems to have fallen in love with generic dance pop. I also hate capital because its bad at promoting new indie acts. Enough about capital, what I'm getting at is that radio 1 covers an absolutely massive range of genre from pop to dance to rock to indie and helps to promote new artists very well, much better than capital anyhow. I do agree that they shouldn't push for a younger age range though, keep at the wide variety of music and it will substantially improve figures over time especially with the promotion of new artists helping them to take off, widening the spectrum of avalibility for genres and people and widening radio 1's appeal as the rising artists fame is build into their brickwork.

Upon hearing wake me up I was like 'oh my f***, this is going to be massive.' From last year I liked get lucky but never thought it would reach a million. Same with passenger although I thought blurred line was abhorrent. However I did think dark horse is a possibility before single release and that still may grace 1 million. Although I did get wake me up right so call me bobkiller the clairvoyant ;)

3rd. Frankie lane, I believe in 1953 and guy mitchell, singing the blues 3 years after that :)

I want tiesto to get a top 10 but I don't want it to outpeak c'mon, such a tune!

It's still at about 25 combined. There is hope!:P

For all the people that said Happy would beat Sam smith to number 1 from the brit effect, i have one thing to say. Told you so :P

If this kicks in before wake me up leaves its going to have a 324 week chart run.

Well shot me down had the worst release plan ever if he wanted to get a high peak with it. It hasn't even been play listed, had no time to build up hype and was only debuted a few weeks ago lol. That's the reason it's doing worse than people thought it would, guetta is not over.

It hasn't stalled? It's still rising rapidly and will overtake Pharell soon.

it's a shame, zedd deserves a no.1 wether its not as good as clarity or not. Hopefully proper moist will go top 40! :')

Since nobody has said this yet I will, in 2011 we had heard 5 of the 6 biggest hits of 2012 already. In 2012 we had only heard 1 of the 6 biggest hits of 2013 How many do you think we would have heard this year? I think clean bandit and route 94 will be in the top 6:)
