Kesha - Rainbow
Yeah, I'm hooked on that chorus too - definitely her at her best. Totally respect her bravery on 'Praying' and in its release as first single but I find the vocals grating so don't return to it, whereas this song and video feel like the perfect comeback statement. Something so special/heartwarming seeing her as a youngster dancing to her own music without a care in the world.

One Love Manchester
Wow, what an incredibly special night. I think I've been in a daze for the last hour or so. The sheer scale of this event, the huge support funds continuing to be raised, the tributes to the victims, the diverse range of acts supporting the cause, the songs, the loud singalongs, the unique moments of defiant unity amongst the crowd and performers... and all organised and achieved less than a fortnight after what was such a paralysing atrocity targeting innocent young people and aimed at destroying our freedoms. It all hits especially close to home right now following the horrendous attacks in the capital just last night, which I personally feel very fortunate to have avoided as I was out enjoying myself in a central London bar too at the time. I thankfully didn't witness anything, but there was certainly a palpable fear on the streets as everyone's night out abruptly ended and we suddenly had to wonder how to get home safely. Ariana and everyone who helped make this concert happen should always be commended for it - it's the absolute strongest statement anyone could wish to make in the wake of these attacks. It feels so good for our...'collective soul' to assert and unreservedly celebrate our shared values right now, and on such a global platform. I'm imagining all the families and friends throughout the country watching at home on this Sunday evening after the bleakness of the last couple of weeks, and being comforted and uplifted and inspired. I thought the set-list was so thoughtful too - it had appropriately heartfelt moments honouring the tragic losses of life, catered to both the young crowd and their parents, honoured Manchester's resilience and musical heritage, while also focusing on the carefree escape music provides, and making Ariana and her fans the stars of the show. Just a giant triumph for all involved and something the people of Manchester will always hold dear I'm sure. Also I can't stop watching this.

Yep, and I swear at the very start he said "what's up London"! Maybe he was so busy searching for the love he forgot where he was oops. Omg Imogen Heap <333

We've come too far to give up who we are / so let's raise the bar and our cups to the stars Who knew the pre-chorus to 'Get Lucky' was so on point!

Won't be able to follow proceedings live unfortunately, which is a shame as I thought the quality and variety here was really strong compared to previous editions. Certainly a lot of discoveries I'll be taking away from this contest. <3 I've a feeling my top-pointer will be pretty unpopular - got a real wooden spoon vibe to it. And in contrast, my runner-up feels like a huge contender for the win~ I'd imagine my own entry will be mid-table at best but still intrigued to see if it finds any big fans. I reckon it's the most 'quintessentially me' (for want of a less douche-y expression) songs I've sent to one of these things in ages. Reminiscent of quite a few of my BJSC entries anyway so wouldn't be surprised if anyone's guessed I'm behind it~ Hyped to see the results later!

BJSC 95 || FINAL
Been an eternity since a Desbuanda hype train made an appearance! Usually just have to make do with a DNQ consensus followed by scraping the bottom of everyone's odds (or at least it feels like that). Thanks guys, glad you like it too. <3 Expecting to thunder up to a cushy position in RontBet's third quartile any time now... B-)

Miley Cyrus - Malibu
Two listens in and potentially my favourite thing she's ever done?! That may be heavily influenced by the fact I'm lazing around hungover and this hit me out of nowhere to complement my mental state perfectly, but the song and video make such a heartfelt, dreamy, pretty little package that I know I'll revisit above her other stuff. I'm generally ambivalent to her as a personality and artist but always loved the country tone to her voice. Her 'Summertime Sadness' cover utilises it magnificently and I was immediately reminded of that on hearing 'Malibu', so yeah the Lana comparisons are definitely there for me too. Also, she's got frolicking-around-while-flirting-with-the-camera down to an absolute TEE. The camera loves her~

BJSC 95 || SEMI FINAL RESULTS
Woop, 'The Heart Dies' is Desbuanda's third surprise qualifier of the year! Had thought its raw storytelling and heightening emotion would connect with others, but it's still a rap track with no chorus so it's not like I was confident of its chances. Thanks to the fellow fans it found (whoever you are - there was pretty much zero reaction to it being announced nor any semblance of hype haha ). +12 Q +10 Q +08 Q +07 Avalonia > Jenni Vertiainen - Suru on kunniavieras +06 Q +05 Q +04 Niceland > Torul - Monday +03 Summericia > VNV Nation - Illusion +02 Q +01 Cadelicia > Emrah Karaduman - Cevapsız Çınlama (feat. Aleyna Tilki) No massive loses for me, or at least any are compensated by a few unexpected qualifiers (<3). Disappointing to see Avalonia and Harmonica so low though. The latter just missed my votes but I thought it'd appeal wider, despite being a clear victim of random.org.

BJSC 94 // Semi 2 RESULTS
Aw, was convinced I'd sent a qualifier in 'Lover Like You', but at least it finished in touching distance (and I was lucky to just about scrape by last month). This marks the first time this year that the consensus has correctly predicted Desbuanda's fate! ;o Also good to see Desbuanda originals Sofi Tukker and Mirror Talk sail through, along with Phil Good who I sent to UP last year. B-) (Yes this sentence is serving the sole purpose of highlighting my impact) +12 Pagasa: The Blue Nile – The Downtown Lights +10 Q +08 Mulgracia: VanLadyLove – Mars +07 Q +06 Q +05 Sandeborg: Open Kid - Круче всех (ft. BJSC 94 // Confirmations
Nah I have spare time :P! Just in the midst of a flat hunt is all. Still love these contests so it'd take a lot to cause a Desbuanda absence (e.g. that time Harmonica got the deadline mixed up and we consequently missed our reminder :')). Indeed a big shame re: N DNTN though! Was anticipating their return~ -_-

Noahspike's Top 50 - January 2017
Erm...better late than never! :mansoncheer: Bumping a December chart at this stage is a step too far though so here are your comically overdue replies: Heyyy mdh! Aw wow, awesome that you've seen Rationale/heard the full force of that voice in person . Most definitely on my list of acts to see in the near future. TY. Nu year not nu Noah  (omg it's technically March now :''''')) Yeah the dreadlocks took me by surprise too - voice/artistry/image don't quite seem aligned, but sure doesn't that make things interesting~ (I'm kinda over 'September Song' now lol) Hmm, 'Not In Love' is one of my least faves from M.O, bearing in mind I adore most of their stuff. Good that it seems to be an improvement on 'Who Do You Think Of?' for you though (or at least I recall you weren't keen on that). 'Too Good' is my ultimate fave I think. <3 And well, I'm glad you discovered 'Sickly Sweet' somewhere. (jkjkjk you did v well WD) Yup TBO impact, and I've only recently come to the realisation that 'Lost On You' is a total masterpiece with modern classic credentials. Will be returning to that one over and over I think. ;o Hozier >>>>> Thx m9 happy March bai

BJSC Masquerade: Confirmation
Confirmed! Had been going back and forth between two tracks for the last little while but I've decided the one I didn't choose would be better used in a main BJSC or other forum contest, so no loss . That one's also more obviously something that'd appeal to me, whereas I think the track I've sent here is hopefully more representative of my disguise~ The country I'm masquerading as has an absolute treasure trove of (generally obscure) artists - was tough doing a thorough search and narrowing down. Well worth it for the discoveries though. <3

🔘 BJSC XCI 🔴 SEMI-FINAL KNOCKOUT 🔘
(I should add that it's still sad to see Flynnonda, Hushkanukia, Skall, and Deandria fall here. All were in contention for points from me and would likely have got them in other contests)

🔘 BJSC XCI 🔴 SEMI-FINAL KNOCKOUT 🔘
Yay, thanks all for getting 'Radio' through! <3 This was the most confident I've been of a qualifier on submission since Eves The Behavior ('TV' and 'Radio' hmm ), but that was definitely dampened by the DNQ predictions and I'm ultimately a bit surprised that Desbuanda's starting the year with some success~ Especially nice to have a presence in this final given '91 is my birth year, and to top it off I didn't lose any of my semi votes in the process! First time that's happened *.* Many thanks to Leww for all the behind-the-scenes work/entertaining reveals despite being under the weather. ^_^

"creepy man in a tree: casual Sunday. that's my brother playing the unwanted love interest lol. thanks dario directed by: Alessia Caracciolo" ! Also, 'Trainwreck' has visuals as of today (and they somehow manage to do it justice omggg) vSNqIerZBFs What a babe <3

Joseph's Hit 250 | Year-End 2016 *COMPLETE, FULL LIST PG 17*
Phenomenal effort as per, Joseph! I regret not following properly throughout this time, though if anything it means I'm even more awestruck by your work than other years in being HIT FULL FORCE by that gloriously formatted recap post on page 17(!).   Can get behind 'If I Were Sorry' as the champ here as I found it a real standout on Eurovision night with it being nicely inventive and catchy. I'm also a shameless 'Stitches' stan, and 'Please Don't Go' really crept up on me post-BJSC - definitely among the big growers of the year. :music: Loads of other good stuff but I think the presence of All Saints jumps out at me most from your countdowns. Their comeback album was a complete revelation for me (as I was barely even aware they'd reformed, let alone had any expectations) and I know that I'll continue revisiting it for years to come. It all feels very sincere and well-crafted and polished, and sort of justifies them being away so long, and ACTUALLY (x4 :kink:) I'd somehow forgotten/never properly realised that 'Who Hurt Who' is about their relationship(s) as a band until reading your commentary :o, oops. Pretty touching! *listens again with new ears*

Which Ed Sheeran album do you prefer?
This is actually quite hard. I think they're similar in being about 70% great, so both in need of a trimming down, along with a reshuffle to aid their flows~ (or perhaps it's just that I can only take Ed in small-ish doses - I guess time will tell with this next release ;o). Would agree with the majority so far that 'x' has the higher highs so I guess that edges it. 'Runaway', 'Nina' (great to see that's such a standout for others <3), and 'Afire Love' are stellar album tracks, and I'd say I'm a fan of all the singles to varying degrees. I just find the full album disjointed so wouldn't think to revisit. (Unrelated shout-out to 'I See Fire', which remains his peak )
