  1. Ah that'd make sense then. Just did a quick search and the 25th is mentioned here so I'd imagine that's the case.
  2. Well there was method to the madness with 'Skyfall'. From Wiki: No idea why this one is being released on a Monday though.

Very satisfied with that winning track! Congrats Jade on another victory. :winner: As for my song, I actually thought it'd appeal to a lot more people and was my best shot at a top 10 finish in months, so #21 is a bit disappointing! Regardless, I loved the whole concept of this contest and weirdly enjoyed trawling through the largely horrific output of Uzbek record labels on Youtube to find my entry! It was a good challenge and the variety among the stuff others found was interesting to hear. Thanks Adam for all the work that went into hosting this. Definitely a big success and I echo the calls for more Worldvisions down the line. :D
  4. I hadn't realised how highly regarded 'Dark Paradise' is on here :o, considering the competition and the fact it didn't get much of a push as a single. I remember listening to the album for the first time soon after release and that being a huge highlight - probably my favourite chorus melody of the whole thing. Always thought it would've done well if given an earlier single release so it's great to see it appreciated enough to finish top 10. 'Blue Jeans' really crept up on me when it was a single. Didn't think much at first but it's subtly effective and there's some pretty fascinating lyrical content in there. Very happy with that top six anyway. I'd want 'National Anthem' out next if I had to choose but it's a ridiculously high standard!
  5. Hi there, I see that throwing some sort of ~shade~ at my chart is becoming a habit of yours now :) ...and everyone thinks you're such a nice guy. (jk) Indeed, 'Save My Soul' is just :cheeseblock: all over! When that chorus hits, oh my *.*.*.*.*.* Hmm, I'd thought 'Graveyard Whistling' was a single last year as the title track of the band's EP, but after some quick research it seems it only made the 'BBC Introducing' list and wasn't pushed in the same way as their later singles...so to (sort of) answer your question, I don't know why it was 'snubbed' in that way . I feel like it'd still flop if it was made a proper single now though :(. Remains my favourite track of theirs overall anyway~ 'Black Magic' is really only climbing due to me being impressed by some US promo performances actually! I still wouldn't choose to listen to it much but the song translates fantastically well live, and it's been great to see Little Mix making a bit of an impact with it stateside. :cheer: That's great but I don't care what Ryan thinks of me cos I'm gonna love myself, no, I don't need anybody else (HEY). Gonna love myself, no, I don't need anybody else (I LOVE MAY). Can't help myself, no, I don't need anybody else, anytime, day or night tbh. I LOVE MAY. I really like 'Cheyenne' but just haven't been listening to it much lately. It'll probably climb a bit when/if (worry) it gets a good push over here. I still think it's perfectly suited to him and doesn't feel in any way faceless to me, which is extremely rare for a Derulobop :o. The video is also one of his best - would recommend if you haven't seen it. Haha, not us subtly and inadvertently taking sides in the Disney-child-star-turned-popstar stan wars :teresa:. Demi's waaaaay more talented vocally tbf but hasn't been serving the jams like Selena has for me :music:. 'Cool For The Summer' is pretty good though and I'm reading great things about the new single so looking forward to checking that out. Oop 14 sounds quite low but nice that it's an improvement at least! Cheers Jordan. :D Indeed! 'Stitches' is a tune and he has a lovely voice. Will almost certainly climb next month too so YAY. :cheer: Thanks James, great to see you're liking so much. :D 'Nah' though! :') Hi Mango! That's interesting re: Jess. From what I've seen, it's more that people like/love certain songs of hers, rather than loving Jess as an artist and everything she puts her name to...but then her album sales would seem to disprove that so maybe I'm wrong there! I find her very hit and miss anyway, 'Don't Be So Hard On Yourself' currently challenging 'Rather Be' as the best thing she's done. <3 Yep, 'Eyes Shut' is the next single! Seems like the perfect choice to me - strong melody, accessible, change of pace from the previous singles, lends itself perfectly to the colder months...not to mention it's one of my favourite tracks on a very strong album. :D Ah, I love seeing Nothing But Thieves in other charts as well! This is among their better tracks for me and I'm very much agreed about the chorus. I find their songs tend to have a nicely casual delivery of gentle vocals in the verses followed by a properly anthemic refrain :music:, and 'Trip Switch' is one of the best examples of that. ^_^ I'd agree with you about 'Drag Me Down'. Solid song but not a standout in their discography. Indeed, I'm looking forward to 'Cheyenne' (hopefully ) making a big impact here soon as it's so much better than some of his past hits. Yeah, it's a shame in a way that Lana is looking less and less likely to ever have a big hit single again, but it's also clear that she's built a very strong fanbase and has a significant amount of casual interest in her, so once she keeps delivering the goods, her albums should always do pretty decently. I'd imagine she's a lot happier with the level of prominence she has now as well, if it means she has more creative control. /ramble ('High By The Beach' is wonderful and has been growing majorly on me)! Thanks for the comments!

'Gold' and 'Tennessee' are both stunners but her new track 'Feels' is another level of bliss for me , and I'd say the most accessible and infectious of the three: Strongly reminded of early The Weeknd on this one but that's no bad thing. <3
  7. Yeah, 'Walk' was actually a #1 hit in Germany and always seemed like it had the potential to be much bigger here than it was (#71) so it's fantastic to see this version doing well now, especially with the album coming next week. :D

I saw this a couple of weeks ago, having not read the book, and wasn't particularly impressed. It had real potential from the trailer as I love a good clue-solving ~mystery~ case but the whole thing ended up feeling way too far-fetched and subsequently underwhelming, but I guess it also didn't help that I never really bought into the fascination around Margo's aloof character, which is strange as on paper Cara seems perfect for the role. For me though, while a decent actor, she lacked the charisma needed for the whole plot to work. All that said, I did appreciate the non-obvious ending to an extent, there were some funny moments throughout and the Inbetweeners-esque dynamic and chemistry between the three friends/their love interests was particularly well done and kept things engaging...but yeah, I wouldn't recommend the film overall.
  9. VMA perfmormance: gsiEuoWO3Do Certainly gave it all she got. :o Can't help thinking the song sounds a bit too dated to catch on properly but regardless, the verses are really slick and the whole thing works fantastically well live. What a voice *.*

Album is coming next week so get excited! :cheeseblock: Old school ballad 'Cheating On Me' is scheduled as the new single: Also, the reworked version of 'Layback' was premiered today. Apparently it was one of the first tracks he ever wrote and is delighted it made the album~ Two other songs; 'Look Over Your Shoulder' and 'Forgiven', also surfaced recently: Album's shaping up to be even more awesome than I'd thought <3! 'Look Over Your Shoulder' is particularly special - I'm thinking it could challenge as my favourite track of his with a bit more time. :o
  13. I've always thought 'Love Story' is awfully saccharine and built on the laziest clichés imaginable but it seems to be really well regarded on here and in general ? It's never done anything for me but maybe I'm just dead inside. -_- I'd be happy to see either of the other two win. :D

Agree with both points. 'Lovin' So Hard' is just pure youthful exuberance, much the same as what makes 'Shower' so great, so I don't consider it a misfire at all. Not completely sold on 'Break A Sweat' yet due to the repetition but it's clearly a jam that I know will only grow on me. Her songs really have no right to be as good as they are but she just keeps delivering. :o
  15. I've just noticed that 'Photograph' climbing to #12 means that all of Ed's US post-album singles (excluding 'Bloodstream' as it didn't seem to get pushed) have outpeaked the album's lead single, which must be highly unusual! :o ('Sing' #13, 'Don't' #9, 'Thinking Out Loud' #2, 'Photograph' #12)
  16. Hey UV! Not majorly keen on your #1 but love the rest of that top three. 'High By The Beach' has been growing on me since you introduced it to me on plug - cheers for that by the way cos I'd been meaning to get around to listening :D. It'd still be lowish down on the Lana singles ranking for me but that's just a testament to the quality of her back catalogue. ^_^ 'Love Myself' is something I didn't think I'd be fussed about before listening but OMG wharra tune *.* The sort of frenzied production in the chorus is particularly awesome. <3 'We Broke The Sky' is definitely the best thing I've heard from Alexa (think it just scraped my votes in BJSC ) but my favourite Ultraviolenceland entry would remain 'Je Te Suivrai', so it's great to see that still holding up extremely well here. :D A lot of other stuff I'm liking and others I need to check out, such as new Lana and Foxes. Great chart!

Hi thurr B-) Nice #1, though I'm avoiding listening to it anymore as I still haven't figured out what the chorus melody reminds me of and it'll only frustrate me further! Can't help thinking it sounds Christmassy for some reason so maybe that'd help explain the connection. Excellent that 'Don’t Be So Hard On Yourself' is so high . I'm really impressed with how that song manages to do the 'empowerment' thing yet feel completely uncontrived. Just a genuinely uplifting, joyous track with a lovely sentiment, to which anyone can relate I'm sure. The post-chorus is sooooo good in particular. <3 I hadn’t realised you never charted Becky G until now :o. I know you liked the song a while ago so was it a case of hearing it a bit on the radio and it clicking more? She has such a (surprisingly) good hit rate in terms of quality singles and her new one is definitely keeping that up - would be great to see it return her to the Hot 100 after 'Lovin' So Hard's undeserved misfire. ^_^ Hmm I see what you did there  sarah11 Great to see debuts for 'Cheyenne', 'Drag Me Down', 'Run Away With Me' and 'How Deep Is Your Love', as well as the climbs for 'Should’ve Been Us' and 'Come And Get It'. :D

Tori was outstanding! Glad she made the absolute most of that opportunity (no idea how she managed to nab a performance slot but not complaining) as 'Should've Been Us' deserves more appreciation. <3 This Kanye speech.

Simon's refusal to be styled has never distressed me more than in those group shots. He could at least wear jeans that fit him. :(
  21. I'm glad 'Story Of My Life' has overtaken 'Little Things' (and will hopefully stay ahead) as, to me at least, it seemed like a much bigger hit and will be the better regarded of the two songs down the line. 'Steal My Girl' was on 389k (including streaming) at the end of 2014 according to Vidcapper, so it's surprising that it's still behind 'Live While We're Young' (367k) on pure sales.
  22. I've just checked Youtube which tells me he performed on Sunrise Australia last week and Dancing With The Stars on Sunday, presumably along with other promotion/a radio tour, which'd explain it. And yeah, I'm pretty sure JLS didn't impact Australia at all so this solo success is all the more impressive. EDIT: Oh wait, the Dancing With The Stars performance wouldn't have affected the above chart then but I'd imagine the fact he's currently #4 on iTunes is down to it.
  23. Hey Mango! Liking your whole top five, 'She's Kinda Hot' and 'How Deep Is Your Love' in particular. The latter really clicked with me when listening to the radio in the sun the other day B-). I've a feeling it could soon become one of my favourite ever Calvin tracks, which would be a major achievement given his incredible back catalogue. :o It's good to see Nothing But Thieves' 'Trip Switch' climbing here, especially as it's just been taken off the Radio 1 A List :(. They've been so consistent in terms of the quality of their singles yet have shown a fair bit of variety among them, so it's frustrating that the band's yet to really break through with anything. And I certainly can't claim they haven't had the radio support to do so! :/ The Rita Ora/Chris Brown collab is surprisingly great and another I've been playing a good bit lately. She's always had a strong voice but I think it's the best she's ever sounded on a track for me, and the whole style of it suits her perfectly. A much better direction for her than 'Poison'. <3 Great chart. :D
  24. Excellent news! I actually wouldn't be surprised if their team took on board the 'Eyes Shut' love on here and in other forums and subsequently changed plans, because didn't Olly say in an interview that they wouldn't release a ballad/'Gold' was pretty much confirmed as the next single anyway? I can see this strategy working out very well in keeping the album high in the charts over the coming months. :D
  25. Noahspike posted a post in a topic in Television
I'd imagine they wouldn't do that due to the running order also being dependent on logistics like stage set-ups as well as the need for the spacing out of different types of performance throughout the show, but I may be wrong. :P I like the change they've made anyway. I bet Louis wishes it had come into effect back in his day as he'd have less chance of getting the groups or overs again.
