Hi Seven! Just checked out The Honourable Sir's latest offering after seeing it as your Track Of The Month (:o) and am in the process of listening again, such was its sheer magnificence . Very very infectious and I like that he hasn't strayed much from the sound of his debut, despite trends possibly having moved on. Hope it'll do well for him! :D Also listened to the tracks from Clarence Clarity and HEALTH, the latter being my fave. :music: Great to see so much representation of the Everything Everything album! I saw your very high praise for it in its thread last week and as a result am all the more excited to listen for myself. ^_^ Intrigued that Kacey Musgraves has two tracks here :o. Joseph and Jordan will be beyond thrilled to know you're a fan if they don't know already! I really liked 'Biscuits', mostly for the lyrical content, when I heard it a while ago and her debut album is also very strong for that reason - would recommend if you haven't checked it out! Nice chart log! B-)

Heyyy Joe :D Needless to say I'm all for that top two , and 'Black Magic' is finally starting to grow on me :magic:. I still find the chorus overly 'cheesy' (for want of better word :arrr:) and the Americanised video is a bit off-putting (albeit very well-executed) but it's a catchy song and definitely enjoyable for what it is. Glad it'll be such a smash for Little Mix regardless but I'm also hoping they have stuff lined up that's more in the vein of their last album, rather than just pure pop. ^_^ 'I Can't Feel My Face' is also great, particularly the sort of monotonous yet funky :funky: chorus that really sticks with you. Much prefer it to 'The Hills' but I'm enjoying seeing The Weeknd rack up some hits post-'Earned It' as he's always been such an underappreciated artist prior to that (on the charts at least). 'The Morning' would still be my fave of his. <3 'Eyes Shut' is another track I've been playing a lot over the last few days. I think it was you who suggested it could make a good single and I'd definitely agree. Lovely song and a nice change of pace from their big hits. Interesting to see Miguel's 'The Valley' so high :o. Haven't heard anything of his new material aside from 'Coffee' so I'll be sure to listen out for that one when I inevitably check out the album. Loads more excellent stuff to be found here as per!
  6. Currently on my third listen in a row to this :magic:. A really solid effort overall and will most likely be my go-to album for the foreseeable future! Not a surprise considering I'd heard and liked/loved ~3/4 of it already but of the tracks that were new to me, 'Border' is the biggest standout right now, if only for its beaut of a chorus . 'Memo' has a very nice sentimental charm which works almost as well as the closer as 'Foundation' does opening the album. I also have a newfound appreciation for 'Eyes Shut', which never properly caught my attention before but is perhaps the lyrical highlight of the whole thing now :o. 'Take Shelter' remains the best thing they've done though (but I'm yet to hear a disappointing track from them). <3
  7. Apols for lateness! :drama: Hiii, Wasn't sure of your opinion on 'Coffee', so that's good to know! Haven't been keeping track of its chart progress in the US so I'm just gonna delude myself that this 'lack of airplay' you speak of is simply down to ~swag~ deficiencies in your radio stations of choice. ^_^ Selena isn't a very talented vocalist so I'd argue that the 'restraint' in those tracks is more so her being aware of how to work within her limits :kink:, nah but I do get how it and THWWIW could be underwhelming :P! I just think both of them are very slick affairs and manage to make a much more interesting statement than most of her pop stuff, and I think they'll stand the test of time (but she's also had a few very catchy bops which will probably be worth revisiting too). :D Yep, I hear similarities to Danny's vocals in the verses of 'Let It Go', especially on the delivery of 'getting drunk', aptly enough (cos IRISH geddit ). Ah, well 'This Summer's Gonna Hurt...' will probably continue to grow on me, you'll be happy to know! And I agree with what you said about it sounding like it was the result of an experimental hour in the studio, in seeming kind of thrown together (but of course working incredibly well as an end result). Gah I obviously wasn't paying enough attention during the all-important Preview Post stage :drama:. Thanks for that - hopefully I won't have to utilise your editing services next month :magic:. Oh and yes, 'Run Away With Me' deserves all the hype and is only so low on here because I haven't heard it enough. Definitely worth checking out! Not heard 'My Gun' but Tove can't do much wrong for me so that's unsurprising :o (I'm so used to finishing sentences with a :o so here's one anyway even if it's contradictory~). Yes I do. :jump: Woop @ overlap :cheer:, thanks for commenting! Hi Joseph! Nice! I much prefer the original and love Wale's contribution but I'm glad the song's getting exposure in any of its forms~ ^_^ Yeah Selena's new sound does sound like a natural progression, oddly enough. 'Good For You' would be already up there as one of my favourite tracks of hers too so here's hoping it ends up charting well. :D Yep it's a great follow-up and a really gorgeous song. I actually unwittingly listened to a playlist of James' songs on Youtube the other day after I played 'Let It Go' and never turned it off and was really impressed - it seems he has a lot of potential singles :o (though I doubt he'll ever avoid the 'dull' comments in the chart show thread no matter what he releases, but such is life). -_- Thanks! :hi: Harry! Yeah 'Breathe' is their Blu Cantrell cover which I've been hearing a lot because my Student Union hammers it for some reason! It's subsequently really grown on me and I think I might prefer it to the original at this stage. :o I prefer 'Jealous' to 'Chains' as well but I find them hard to compare, with 'Jealous' being so much more instant and catchy and 'Chains' a bit of a slow burner. Haha, I wouldn't call myself a Chris Brown fan but I tend to like most of his singles (or those he's featured on), 'Fine China' being my favourite of the last few years. 'Post To Be' is a jam as well though of course. :music: TY! :D Hi Jade :D Indeed, I find it hard enough to keep on top of a monthly thread so I'd flop horribly in charge of a weekly one! But yeah, 'Coffee' would have had a more gradual climb to #1 by the week - always been a fan of Miguel's smooth vocals on it but it's definitely grown a lot. Yep, I'm starting to think 'Cheyenne' could be Jason's 'best' single ever actually, in the sense that it suits him perfectly and seems like it could only be his, when I find the majority of his songs are pretty faceless, catchy and enjoyable as they can be. Foxes really impressed me too as I kind of had her down as having peaked musically with 'Youth', and 'Trap Queen' has been a major grower for me as well, having disliked Fetty's rapping style/delivery at first. :magic: Cheers Jade!

As typos go, 'I Was Gonna Cancer' is very unfortunate.
  10. I played this on Youtube just now and genuinely assumed the intro was some shit advert at first. It would be nice to enjoy this on some level because Sarah's always been extremely likeable but I really can't see that happening. Absolute mess. :/

76 For this month's contest, Desbuanda proudly presents an enchanting remix of the latest single from electronic duo Wol WHARRA FLOP     Falling just short of getting Persephonian (would-be) votes and thus definitively ending one of Desbuanda's proudest traditions is an even tougher pill to swallow than DNQ'ing tbh :(...buuuut not as traumatising as losing to a David Jordan album track obvs :') Lol thankfully we're not relevant enough for a Hayden James-esque legacy and can just sweep this whole thing under the carpet~
  13. Gah. I did think 'Beauty' could get a bit lost in the mix after listening through the semi, as well as noticing a distinct lack of hype coming its way (other than Bré once saying that it kinda sounded like something he might like...or something :magic:!), but I never expected last place :( only attracting three sets of votes :( :( LOSING TO DAVID JORDAN?!?!?! :///// Ah well, Desbuanda's had a fair few surprise qualifiers (Heathers, Nothing But Thieves, MONAKR), and Amber-Simone was lucky to have been an AQ for us, so we were due an almighty flop, I guess. -_- Desbuanda's votes: +12 Avalonia // Lifehouse - Flight +10 Q +08 Q +07 Q +06 Q +05 Q +04 Q +03 Q +02 Ajanaeda // Milo Greene - 1957 +01 Q Not the best contest for us then . And what's more, I really thought Lifehouse would defy the odds :( but YAY for Skall who I assumed wouldn't make it!

:hi: That's quite a seasonally appropriate top three you've got there :magic: - 'Lean On' is probably my song of the summer , 'Cheerleader' is obviously inherently summery and grew massively on me as the weather got better over here, and Maroon 5's new one is self-explanatory. I'm quite impressed with how the band's taking risks with the stylistic changes on 'This Summer's Gonna Hurt...', when they've seemingly had a winning formula for so long, though I guess a lot of people would say that a bit of inspiration is long overdue ! Not sure I'd ever guess that chorus is Maroon 5/Adam Levine anyway. :o Great that 'Pray To God' got a fair bit of US radio play and subsequently grew on you. That's been one of the most baffling underperformances for a single, I think . Listening to it, I still think it has all the elements of a smash without sounding in any way generic and although it could have been helped a bit more by radio over here, I would have thought it had enough exposure to become a decent-sized hit at least. :( 'One Last Time' must be/close to being your favourite Ariana track with that run, I'd imagine?! How would it compare to 'Break Free', assuming that is/was your fave? For me, 'One Last Time' is pretty much on a par with 'Love Me Harder' at this stage (and she's yet to really disappoint me with her singles). Glad you deemed 'Shade of You' good enough to make an appearance on here as I know that's a rare feat for a BJSC track! Was impressed with Daniella's other stuff so cheers for the recommendation! Was all very melodic and lovely. <3 16. Tove Lo – Talking Body [13-7-16] 18. 17. Hi Mango! Haha, much as I love Oasis, the subtitle's just a reference to the somewhat ~lewd~ lyrics of 'Coffee' (with 'glory' also referring to its #1 status here :magic:)! Agreed re: 'Cheyenne'! I've been very pleasantly surprised by Jason's recent output - a real return to form after 'Wiggle' and the like. :puke2: Interesting that 'Ship To Wreck' is already your favorite Florence single! It'd be fairly high on my list but there's just so much competition :drama:. Not sure anything could ever overtake 'Dog Days Are Over' for me as it's among my favourite songs ever! Definitely with you on hoping 'Good For You' will be a nicely-sized hit. I'm actually a little surprised with the level of appreciation for it on Buzzjack and elsewhere given its understated nature but it's great to see. :D I never heard Foxes' album but from the stuff I know of hers, 'Body Talk' would be a departure into 80s roller-disco-esque territory for sure. :funky: 'This Summer's Gonna Hurt...' was a big grower for me, having really not got the fuss initially, so don't give up on it! 'Run Away With Me' has been a bit of a revelation cos I wasn't really feeling the comeback single. Think it's already my favourite of hers and I've only heard it a few times! :o Ooh I'll have to put 'listening to 'Trap Queen' in the sun' on the agenda then B-)! And yeah, things are looking good for a Little Mix #1, which is pretty amazing when you consider they're an XF girlband 3.5 years into their career! I'd be happy to see it happen, even if the song itself is far from their best. ^_^ TY! :hi: Josh, thanks for the comments! Our Derulopinions seem very aligned based on what you said  (although in saying that, I know you're not much of a fan of 'Cheyenne' -_-). That's a nice insight into 'Not Letting Go' as I haven't listened to it enough to have noticed all that! I'd definitely agree that Jess sounds great on it though, and I'm usually indifferent to her stuff. ^_^ I can't say I like it more than 'Hold Back The River' (yet) as that's had very good staying-power with me but 'Let It Go' is really beautiful, especially the chorus . I actually prefer James to George Ezra so I'd agree with you on hoping he attains that level of success. Ah, interesting - I'm not familiar with Elliphant beyond 'Love Me Badder' so had no expectations for it, unlike yourself. I'm not even completely sold on that one but it's quite catchy at least. Yeah, would never have called 'Trap Queen' being so big and a bit of a hip-hop revival in the charts would be very much welcome. I used to find the vocals/rapping overly whiney and annoying but I've recently changed my mind and see it more for the jam that it is. :music: Heyyy Seven! I haven't really given the solo version of 'Coffee' enough of a chance as the Wale one has always been my go-to - either way though it's a truly sensational track . And it's gonna take about a half-dozen more top-notch pop bops from Derulo over the next few years to fully compensate for 'Wiggle'-inflicted traumas but he's on the right path at least. :D Agreed with you on no subsequent Foxes singles touching 'Youth' (not to say they were bad at all - just a little throwaway) and though it's too early for me to say, I can see 'Body Talk' potentially being a real return to form. ^_^ Ah but I've decided to withhold the debut of Sir Newman CBE's latest gift to the world for my July chart in order to coincide with the two year anniversary of his first solo UK #1 and OPUS 'Love Me Again' :teresa::teresa::teresa:. That, and I haven't heard the new song yet. Bye.
  18. 'Open Heart' sounded pretty great in the sunshine today, Jordan B-). Rooting for it to be a rare Harmonican qualifier but of course can't do anything to help make that happen due to random.org's continued disdain for the Harmbuanda alliance. <_< I'd forgotten how much I like Lissie's voice <3 (actually I'd forgotten about Lissie altogether so cheers for inadvertedly reminding me of 'When I'm Alone' among other gems of hers)!

Yeah, was nice to hear Serena speak about Heather needing to raise her expectations regarding her potential to climb way up the rankings. Also very interesting that Serena considers the match one of her toughest ever wins on Centre Court. :o
  20. Noahspike posted a post in a topic in Sports and Fitness
Tuned in 3-0 up in the final set as soon as I heard about it! Some seriously impressive athleticism, defensive play and mental strength on display from Heather. A real shame she couldn't quite close it out but WHAT an exciting match!
  21. I'm not sure what other options he had as potential singles but I feel it was quite a risk following 'Jealous' with 'Chains', the latter being very much a grower and not particularly radio-friendly (in complete contrast to the obvious smash that was 'Jealous'). I guess its performance in the US would have been encouraging but he's not as known or established as a solo act over here to pull off a more subtle type of single so soon, so in a way I'm not surprised radio aren't jumping to playlist it on his name alone. In saying that, I would like it to be a hit as I'm a fan of it myself.
  22. Evict: Marc (To prevent him winning - if it was somehow guaranteed he wouldn't win, I'd prefer a Jack eviction) Save: Harry (As I think she's a bit misunderstood but I don't have a strong feeling to save any of them) Win: Danny (Joel's a close second but is just a little too perfect  - I prefer more flawed and relatable (yet ultimately good) characters who've been a central part of the show to win and Danny's the closest to that right now for me) Return: Jade (Ooooooooh did someone say they don't like me???)
  23. There's perhaps an element of herd mentality but I think for the most part they're justified in their individual views of him so I don't find that to be particularly relevant. Also, he's such an unpredictable character in terms of his reactions/what can come out of his mouth and isn't exactly always honest or trustworthy (I've definitely see him rewrite history when recalling incidents in the DR etc. to make himself look better) so I'd imagine it's very easy to believe others over him. Like you do, I dislike people just going along with the popular opinion or that of their friends but I haven't detected that too much really, maybe with the exception of Cristian supporting anything Danny says. With regard to Joel, he's definitely an individual thinker however Marc generally treats him with respect so he's had a lot less reason to vent about him or challenge him than others have (and he's also very intelligent and seems to choose his battles wisely). I'd imagine if Joel was sat down and asked about his take on Marc's behaviour, for example that towards Brian, it would largely be in line with the popular opinion. Same with Sam (although she'd probably underplay it compared to the others) and Harry (who, despite agreeing with him on people not being able to back up their arguments, still despises him for how he treats people). I disagree as well about the reactions to Marc's behaviour being disproportionate. He regularly completely overreacts to things, such as Nick's nomination reasons, and pushes people continually for an argument which obviously winds them up. He's can be very good at 'winning' these because he gets a bit riled up, shouts, curses, interrupts and never allows others to get their point across properly (as seen even when he was in character as hotel staff and insisted on making remarks on John McCririck's 'review' of him). Just because people can't back up their argument with examples doesn't mean their observations and points are invalid - I feel in this case, his behaviour towards Brian may have been hard to pinpoint as it was more to do with how he made him feel with little remarks, jokes, looks, supporting Helen etc. Coupled with that, clear examples may not come to people on the spot when they have to deal with Marc's aggressive arguing 'style'. I'm inclined to believe their/Brian's account of Marc playing a part in antagonising Brian (with Helen being the main culprit of course) as they've lived with him and pick up on these more subtle factors rather than "the time he splashed him" or whatever. Having said all that, his argument with Aisleyne last night was pretty impressive in how calm he kept throughout. They were both pretty much being as nasty as each other but she clearly came off much worse by getting aggravated, losing her cool and storming off (not to mention some of her cringeworthy comebacks!). He can definitely be very effective and clever in those situations too. (Lol didn't mean to write so much but caught up on the last four episodes last night so it's all pretty fresh!)
  24. "I have a Wikipedia page and you don't!". Oh my, Aisleyne. Also I don't think I've cringed as hard this series as I did watching Cristian trying to flirt with Jasmine in the smoking area. I like the guy and he's clearly quite insecure which is somewhat endearing but I really wish he'd stop putting on such a front for the cameras (for his own good as well as mine). He's unbearably unnatural :arrr:. Agreed that the bit at the end with everyone watching through the mirror was hilarious though. I think it's pretty unfair and overly cynical to say housemates are simply on an anti-Marc bandwagon for tactical reasons. Can you imagine living with him 24/7?! He's incredibly argumentative, constantly goading people with often very nasty remarks to try and get himself a reaction. On top of that, nobody really knows where they stand with him because he's paranoid about 'game players'/'brown-nosers' and gets highly offended by anything he doesn't agree with or that makes him look bad (e.g. the antagonising Brian 'accusations'). I actually do recognise his entertainment value as a housemate but he's an obnoxious, extremely volatile character and would be an absolute nightmare to live with so I think their (seemingly) collective stance on him is completely understandable.
  25. Hopefully the 'shock' winner last year will mobilise (sane) people to prevent history repeating itself with a Marc win. *clutches straws*
