  1. I feel like you guys may be underestimating the portion of the audience with actual brains and sound judgement, as it's beyond ludicrous to think Marc is a victim in any way. I really hope you are anyway. I guess I don't have much of an argument considering who won it last year! :/

Not embarrassing necessarily but I'd say it's likely to reinforce how 'inferior' the show is to the X Factor in the eyes of the public, along with possibly blurring the lines between their supposedly different premises as talent shows (not that The Voice probably even cares that much about differentiating itself as being more noble than its rival anymore). But yeah, any publicity is good publicity I guess.
  3. Probable Desbuanda shade aside <_< a Skall DNQ would be most unjust so am happy to hype! A big standout for me as well. :cheer:

They'll probably try to spin it like they're 'swapping' judges with the X Factor but that'll be hard when most people are aware Nicole was let go from that show due to a clause in Cheryl's contract . Otherwise I can't see how hiring a fired former X Factor judge could be a good move publicity-wise for The Voice when they already have the mild embarrassment of Rita clearly jumping ship, but regardless, Nicole seems like a great personality so it'd be nice to see her get the job and do well out of it.
  5. Yeah I don't agree with the DNQ predictions for Lifehouse. Would have thought the vocals combined with the build/final portion of the song are pretty undeniable. <3 Reminiscent of 'Graveyard Whistling' in more ways than one amirite.

This is beauuuuutiful . Really hoping its subtle yet arresting charm will be enough to once again upset the mountain of odds stacked against Trifoski and nab you a place in the final.

  8. Whatup Haus B-) I have to say I thought the thread for 'Good For You' was suffering from a severe overdose of hyperbole after I first listened to the song :kink:, probably mainly because I found the vocals a bit unclear/odd, but I definitely get the hype now! It's quite surprising how well-suited Selena is to this new sound - she really pulls it all off wonderfully. I know you're a fan of 'I Want You To Know' but this for me is a much much better direction for her so I really hope that materialises, regardless of how well this song does commercially (and I guess things are looking good for it as of now :D). Nice to see 'Give Me Love' doing well with you. I'm a huge fan of 'I Bet' so my expectations were high before I heard it but it's definitely a satisfying follow-up - really love that relatively understated chorus. Happy as I am with the choice of first single, I can't help wondering how well this would have done on the charts in its place. It's really great to see you still enjoying 'Hush'! I obviously love it too but it wouldn't be among my favourite entries and I was a little hesitant to send it for that reason, however seeing it become such a big discovery for yourself and a few others helps make it all worthwhile. <3 Soooo many albums in your chart I have to check out, particularly new Miguel and new Florence (and I'd imagine that Wynter Gorden EP is pretty flawless :o) but your approval is very encouraging!

What a predictable top 5. Seriously though, that's an excellent #1! Carly's comeback single wasn't overly impressive for me, though I'm glad she managed to get a decent sized hit out of it, but 'Run Away With Me' is an undeniably gorgeous, well-crafted pop song. Haven't heard it in about a week but I remember the pre-chorus was a particular standout. Would love it to do well for her. :D 'Poison' hasn't really clicked with me at all although I recognise it's a bit experimental and a departure from standard Rita fare, so fair play to her for being on course for another big hit, I guess. At the moment it just feels quite disjointed to me with an overly abrupt chorus but I've a feeling it'll grow in time. ^_^ Loving the slow jam representation in your top 10 thanks to Selena and Miguel - particularly great to see the longevity for the latter's 'Coffee', which is still sounding very fresh to me too.

Aw that's a real shame about Ferrer :(. Always puts in such a great effort. Would love to see him finally win a Grand Slam sometime. -_-
  11. I've always been a fan of Davina and never quite understood the level of criticism she'd receive, particularly during her time hosting Big Brother. The fact that she's so excitable and scatty is part of her appeal for me and suited the nature of that show, though I seem to be fond of these 'qualities' in other TV hosts (see: Konnie and Jameela) and I guess it's fair that people would rather presenters have a bit more professionalism! I think Emma Willis is spot on in that respect as she's a more organised and competent presenter without compromising the fun, passionate elements Davina brought, as she's clearly also a big fan of the show. Ant & Dec are the definition of likeable - always a pleasure to see them host anything. It's pretty amazing that they've retained their charm after being prominent for so long and haven't become in any way tedious (for me anyway). Graham's by far my favourite TV host so it's great to see him finish high here. There are very few presenters who could handle the format of his show - dealing with guests from various fields who often have completely different backgrounds and personalities, and managing to make the conversation incredibly natural, funny and entertaining. He definitely gets the most out of celebrities of any other chat show host and it always seems that his guests genuinely love being on the couch. Jameela seems like a lovely person but her sarcastic sense of humour can be hit-and-miss and can come across a bit rude when she's interviewing people (for example here) so I'm glad she didn't win (and also I barely even associate her with TV anymore). I don't watch The Great British Bake Off () but I've seen Mel & Sue on a few things and they seem like a laugh so well done them. :cheer: Interesting results all in all - cheers for doing this, April!

Yep, not even a single week in the top 5 for that one!
  15. "Carry on, it's my turn after" *Interrupts her to reiterate this every time she speaks*
  16. Yep, sounds like a smash. Very very catchy and exactly what she needs as a follow-up. I still think it was smart to lead with 'I Really Like You' though, as she was gone so long and that song's cutesy novelty appeal was in the same vein as the only thing she was remembered for, so it was a clever re-introduction (and I say that as someone who's actually indifferent to the song itself). If she'd led with this, I'm not sure it would have made the same impact from the off, however now she's regained the profile for it to fulfil its potential.
  17. Wasn't completely sold last night on first listen but having given it a bit more time, it really is sensational! 'The Heart Wants What It Wants' is one of my favourite tracks from last year and showed so much (unexpected) promise as to the type of artist she could become so I'm delighted she's sticking with that type of sultry, alt-R&B sound. Suits her and her voice down to the ground and sets her apart from her peers so it's a very smart direction. Can't stop playing this now.

Hey Josh! Can't quite get behind your #1 but at the same time, I'm happy that Little Mix have returned with such a smash-in-waiting as I've always liked them. Definitely a catchy track but it just feels far too faceless and cheesy to me, like a Disney star's debut single or something, idk . I don't quite get why it's doing SO well but I'm hoping it'll mean they're set up nicely for the album (which should have some stuff on it more to my liking I'd imagine). ^_^ Love that run for 'Lean On'. Should hopefully be a rare long-running chart hit that unites Buzzjack in praise rather than complaint. :D Out of interest, was the re-entry for 'Ship To Wreck' caused purely by the album release or was it a live performance you saw or something else? It's really clicked with me only recently as well. Nice to see 'Want To Want Me' still doing well. What's your feeling on 'Cheyenne' (assuming you've heard it)? I think I prefer it overall but they're both absolutely top-notch Derulobops. 'Post To Be', despite some ~questionable~ lyrics and the downright offensive title to anyone who values the English language , is suuuuuuuch a jam! So weird to see Omarion back as I haven't heard from him in about a decade and didn't think I ever would again. :o Loads more I'm liking here - great chart!
  19. Hi thurrrrr :hi: Hope exam season has been going well for you so far - it seems you've had/still have a bit of a rough schedule but at least the end should now be in sight :D. Best of luck with the rest of them! Haven't actually heard your #1 yet  but I'd imagine it's solid with those names attached. Looooove your #2 though! Something wonderfully atmospheric about it. Ziggy made the top 20 :o! I was too much of a flop to remember to join BJfestivalen on time and have generally been out of the loop here so hadn't (re-)heard it until plug (and was amazed I remembered all the lyrics ). I loved Arthur back in the day but despite that, I don't think I ever contemplated what type of animal he is and only found out recently that he's actually an aardvark :o, which kind of blew my mind! Who knew?! (probably most people tbf :/) Interesting that 'Shine' is falling pretty quickly here as I'm truly amazed I'm not sick of it in the slightest, having absolutely hammered it for the last month. Intrigued to see how it and the album will do on release. ^_^ Also really liking your BJSC-related longish runners, namely 'Time', 'Habib Galbi' and 'Distant Past'. Very nice chart! <3
  20. Heyyy Harry! Excellent to see Walk The Moon up to #2! Incredibly infectious song that refuses to get old for me so I was delighted to see it become an official UK top 10 last week. :D Great that 'Want To Want Me' also seems to be growing on you. I wasn't looking out for Jason's return at all as I didn't like the singles from his last era (apart from 'The Other Side') but he's definitely back to his best now. Very catchy tune and deserved multi-week #1. <3 A lot of other stuff here I like, particularly 'Ship To Wreck', 'Bad Blood', 'Dream Lover', 'She Ain't Me', 'Holdin' On', Itch' and 'Believe' to name a few. Also, I notice Hurts' new song isn't here (and I know you were interested in checking it out ^_^) so either you're not a big fan of it or haven't got around to it yet . Here's a anyway! :music:
  21. :hi: there Harry! Great to see you loving the ~swaggier~ stuff on here, especially 'She Ain't Me' as I really thought that deserved a much better result in BJSC. Yeah, definitely check out Hurts' new one! I really think it could be a long overdue hit for them if handled right. Thanks for commenting!

All caught up~ Jade really can't win with the housemates, can she?! Cristian's cringing at her going from Nick to now 'throwing herself' at Brian while Nikki's criticising her for ignoring Brian all day and supposedly flirting with Nick instead, when those two have always had a close bond and have made clear numerous times that their relationship is purely platonic. I think the idea that she goes from man to man is unfair - she just seems like an open, friendly person who's tactile with nearly everyone. The only 'phase' I feel she went through was being quite close to Cristian. With the rest, she's had pretty much the same type of relationship with them from the start. That said, she's absolutely terrible in an argument, as entertaining as her facial expressions and random insults are! Reacting with an unintelligible, obnoxious rant to what Cristian said at the table will get her evicted if nothing else (though I really hope she stays as she's generally great value as a housemate). I don't see her as playing the victim at all. She's done pretty much the exact opposite from what I've seen, just not in a way where she's tried to integrate herself back into the group. There've been numerous times where people have reached out to her and acted sympathetic towards her and she's just coolly rejected them, including refusing to admit to BB that anything's wrong when they've been concerned about her welfare. She just seems very aloof at times and likes to be by herself a lot, which isn't exactly great TV but doesn't mean she's trying to be seen as a victim. For me, what it showed was that he was bothered about what Cristian had insinuated the night before about him changing alliances once the Time Warp housemates entered and essentially not staying true to himself. Of everyone in there, Nick seems to care the most about how he's coming across to viewers and I think this is the beginning of him realising he has to stand up for things he believes in/people he cares about, even if it won't do him many favours in the house. Also, I don't think he's using Harry necessarily, but I definitely agree he's connected more with Jade, albeit in a brotherly way, as Jonjo said. There's a difference between being constantly defensive (of Harry) or argumentative, and simply expressing his disagreement with certain negative opinions of her. I get that he dislikes confrontation but he seems very weak-willed and a pretty lousy friend when he tends to sits passively, even nodding along sometimes, when people are tearing into her. He's definitely shown himself up to be cowardly IMO but I'd imagine he's slowly learning from it, which'd be nice to see.

Melvin, not Marvin. (I assume you made that mistake anyway, as otherwise...erm?!) ~ Rochelle seems like a competent presenter based on the little I've seen but, in fairness, I think that's only ever been alongside her husband who's a complete charisma vacuum onscreen so she may have just seemed good in comparison. ^_^
