Olly Murs - Beautiful to Me
Olly, as a charismatic, down-to-earth, straight, white male doing radio-friendly pop music is about as mass appealing and accessible as they come! I'm not sure who all these people are who've continually discredited him, other than an insignificant minority of industry snobs and some internet forum/blog posters, perhaps. His sustained success may surprise people but they're generally not actively against it. Arguably his X Factor roots may have cost him some BRIT nominations but other than that, you definitely tend to overstate his 'struggle'! :P Also, I really think some people's expectations for this album campaign are unreasonable (although fair enough if the current single's release strategy could have been better executed). His commercial peak was clearly 'Right Place Right Time' - unexpectedly huge post-album single with 'Dear Darlin', re-release months later to sustain sales. The fact that he'll have a fourth album easily surpassing double platinum is incredible and with the upcoming X Factor role and media/public goodwill that he continues to garner, I can't see there being any noteworthy 'decline' for his fans to worry about. Also bear in mind that he's at a stage in his career where he's very comfortable and, as a 30+ year old on his fourth album, he and the label may not be particularly interested in him going on extensive promotional trails for post-album singles. He's also got his life to live, other interests/projects to pursue and his success to enjoy so basically...chill your beans etc. B-)

Big Brother: Timebomb // SPOILERS
I'm deluding myself thinking Cristian could have a chance of going, being the obvious 'boring' one in the line-up and save-the-entertaining-housemates vote, helped also by votes possibly being split between Jade and Harry? (Bearing in mind I haven't seen the last few episodes).

Eves The Behavior / Eves Karydas
The song's out now in the UK with an EP to follow next month. bKxpF_WsCm0 Kind of non-eventful but she's perfect so I don't care <3

The X Factor • Series 12
Like him or not (and personally I'm not a big fan) he's spent his entire career working for radio and music-oriented TV shows interviewing/constantly being around popstars and must have a good grasp of what it takes to be successful and the effective marketing of music acts. He doesn't claim to be a singer himself but has a certain amount of knowledge and I'd say could have a valuable perspective given the whole premise of the show.

Noahspike's Top 50 - May 2015
Yep, there's a really effortless, infectious quality to those two, as well as 'Shower' IMO, and I like that her stuff is optimistic and carefree as opposed to trying to set her apart as having some type of 'edge'. It all feels very natural to me, which is surprising as there's surely a huge marketing effort going on behind the scenes to try and make her happen. Would be a real shame if an album never saw the light of day. :( Cheers for the comment, Lee! Thanks Joe! Yeah I noticed you're continuing to chart stuff I'm also enjoying at the moment, a lot of which will likely make an appearance in my June chart, namely 'Body Talk', 'This Summer's Gonna Hurt...' and 'Want To Want Me', among others. :D Hiya Josh! Agree completely re: 'I Bet'. It did relatively well to challenge for a top 40 placing for a few weeks, given Ciara's diminished profile over here, but gahhh I would have loved to hear some quality R&B on the chart show at least once. I definitely felt the spark from 'Shine' from the off, but I guess its appeal is more subtle than that of 'King' and down to its melodiousness (melodiousness?) tunefulness :magic: as well as some of the lyrics. Ah, that's good to hear your thoughts on 'Ship To Wreck' having heard the album. I still haven't got around to it :o and wouldn't be surprised if there's stuff on there I prefer to the singles. I'll be sure to listen out for 'Queen of Peace' anyway. ^_^ Yes, very true re: 'Coffee'! It doesn't drag at all and the section after the rap where he's essentially just ad-libbing over the track for ages works surprisingly well (having not been keen on it on first listen). I can't say 'Bad Blood''s had the same impact on me but then I find it hard to believe Ellie Goulding would make anything approaching a decent ninja so maybe that's holding me back. -_- 'Believe' may be my favourite of theirs too actually! It's continuing to grow on me massively - really lovely lyrics, vocals, sentiment and I love the build/guitar moments as well. I tend to prefer the stuff that fans of their initial material aren't generally keen on/see as 'selling-out' etc. (like 'I Will Wait') so I'd definitely say the band suits its new direction. Thanks. :D

Last night I had a dream in which I confidently declared Una to be the most beautiful woman in the world and my friend just laughed at me. :( I think this is the best place to post this. Ok bye.

Big Brother: Timebomb // SPOILERS
Victor was an objectively amazing housemate in both his original series and UBB but of course committed the ultimate offence of being born male so I'm sure he's despised on Buzzjack. :drama: (just kidding :kink:) I'm kind of excited to see all these housemates return, even Helen for some strange reason :o - probably because I've given up on the thought of this being a vintage series after all the manipulation and am instead just gonna embrace the madness.

US Billboard 200 - 06/20/15
Excellent result for Florence! The album was always going to have a very strong chance at #1 on such a dead week but it's kind of surprising that it outsold the debut of 'Ceremonials' by such a margin, considering that album was released in Q4 and followed relatively soon after the US prominence of 'Lungs', which was nearly at one million copies sold at that stage IIRC. It's also great and quite unusual to see an artist generally improving their worldwide chart peaks with each album, as can be seen here (though I'd imagine 'How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful' will be her lowest selling in the long-run in most territories and is very unlikely to surpass a million US sales like its two predecessors). To put Jason Derulo's lack of selling power into perspective, he only sold half (in pure album sales) of what Marina's 'FROOT' did in March...and that's with a top 5 hit. :o

Tony's Top 50 Tracks of the 2010s
Lovely countdown, Tony. I've enjoyed reading through it all, even the ones I'm not familiar with, and you made me revisit and appreciate a few forgotten gems, namely 'Come On' and 'Retrograde' of the last batch so cheers for that! I'm also one the few of the opinion that 'Born To Die' is superior to 'Video Games' and that 'Scheiße' is a big standout of 'Born This Way'. Loved your write-up of Marina/'Oh No!' in particular. Along with the wonderful production as you said, I find the lyrics of that a real selling point, especially 'TV taught me how to feel/Now real life has no appeal', which would be up there as one of my favourite Marina lines after the entirety of the second verse of 'Obsessions' about her supermarket/cracker related anxieties. Great job!

Noahspike's Top 50 - May 2015
Hi James! Wow a lot of overlap, thanks. :D Hi, I'll tell you what's up! heidy's out of Skype and exploring pastures new :o:o - what a sight to behold! http://emoticons.zone/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/Skype-emoticons-heidy.gif Ciara versus Years & Years was probably the closest #1 battle in Noahspike's Top 50's illustrious eight month history :drama:. It nearly came down to who had the prettiest picture on Google Images! (It didn't, I ever so slightly prefer 'I Bet' right now cos I just can't resist a good R&B slow jam~) I listened to a fair few other Joywave songs post-gig but can't remember which ones by name as they didn't leave a massive impression at the time. I'll check out those ones you've mentioned though and report back. :o Yeah, it's really great to see Buzzjack's got a lot of time for Brandon. A real shame though that there likely won't be a hit from his album as it's brimming with single potential. -_- thx m8 Hi! You know, I really do think 'I Bet' is phenomenal actually! Everything about it kind of makes me ~swoon~ and chilled R&B tracks executed this well can be few and far between for me...so yeah, I agree! I haven't been too familiar with Ciara beyond her big hits a decade ago (!) but the new album is on my to-do list so it's good to see you approve :D. Listening to 'Give Me Love' for the first time right now and liking a lot - v nice breezy chorus. :music: 'Ship To Wreck' was such a grower for me so it's interesting that it clicked with you from the off! Good to see she's winning you over somewhat - I can't wait to check out the album! Nah, 'Hold Back The River' is still sounding marvellous to me. I've definitely appreciated you defending it so well against the regular MOR/hat/long hair haters in the chart show thread! I'd imagine 'Firestone' will sound amazing now the sun might be making an appearance more regularly, cheers Joseph. ^_^

2015 Tennis Season
Safarova's just come back from 4-1 down to now contesting a tiebreak in the second set. Hope she wins this and there's a third. EDIT: And she did it! Can't decide who I want to win as I've always been a Serena fan but love an underdog. ^_^

Ultimate Pop Album 2015 · GRAND FINAL
Oh my God. Say what you want about Ellie herself but 'Halcyon' in its original form is an absolute masterpiece. ~ 'Teenage Dream' is a decent winner I guess. An album of very strong pop songs let down by the odd dud - 'Peacock' being by far the worst offender. :puke2:

Big Brother · Timebomb
I've just finished catching up with a week's worth of episodes over the last two days (and about 16 pages of this thread just now). DRAINED! :drama: I can't say anything that hasn't been said already about the twist. Yes, the house needed a good shake-up but the all-important game element of the show has been completely ruined with the way the producers went about it. I agree with Rob's post about feeling disappointed to the point that I've considered turning off mid-series for the first time (but will more than likely stick it out -_-)! Anyway, a best-case scenario eviction for me would have been Sally & Amy, Harriet, Danny and (regrettably) Kieran so it worked out alright I guess. The twins had minimal entertainment value and I found Harriet tiresome with her constant overreactions so I was glad to see them leave, though I did feel sorry for both as it was a very harsh way to be evicted, particularly through the revolving door :/. Kieran's been good-humoured, semi-interesting and is a different sort of housemate so I would have liked to see his character develop but he's no major loss. Danny's fairly one-dimensional and was only ever shown with (or talking about his non-relationship with) Sarah so he would have been a perfect evictee, however he may come into his own now and was particularly good in tonight's episode when defending Chloe. Sarah is a huge loss for me though :(. I really saw potential housemate greatness in her as it was so refreshing to have a sane, balanced, intelligent person who deals well with conflict/negativity not feel even a little bit 'boring' and, in fact, take on a dominant role in the house, both to housemates and viewers. Re: her argument with Joel, I thought she expressed herself poorly as I felt her point was more about Joel's behaviour directly after Aaron's ejection being strange (which it was - dressing up and walking around the room in a flamboyant way reminiscent of Aaron after the circumstances of his removal struck me as...not very clever and a bit insensitive, especially considering the other housemates were 'mourning' him at the time). Joel was very quick to link what she was saying to 'victim blaming' but I guess it was fair that he may have thought that that's where she was going with it. I don't know, maybe I misinterpreted that conversation but I thought both were in bad moods, had ill-feeling for each other and didn't go about discussing things in the right way so it all escalated very quickly. Glad Chloe stayed as she's fun and I really love her voice/accent for some reason. Regarding the new housemates, I can confirm (not that anyone needs any confirmation) that Marc is an utter tool of the highest order, having had the misfortune of seeing him on an episode of Tallafornia. I was more disappointed to watch him enter the house than witnessing Simon's return, which says it all really. I like Sam a lot on first impression but Harry seems like a typical wannabe without much to her so, very much like the entire series at the minute, I don't exactly have high hopes but who knows...
