Riser Monthly
Hiii Jord! Diplo looks like he's concentrating incredibly hard in that gif and still managing to get it all slightly wrong, poor fella. :/ Awesome #1 and top three - all songs which have stood the test of time so far for me. For some reason it's taken me til now to check out 'Want To Want Me', despite reading good reviews about it being a welcome return to pop for Jason/it heading for a UK #1 etc. Sounds predictably great on first listen though - I know you're somehow fond of abominations like 'Trumpets' :puke2: and 'Wiggle' :puke2: :puke2: but it's good to see you appreciate him at his best too (which is clearly infectious, throwaway pop/R&B like this)! :D Interesting to see 'Tomorrow' only charting for you now. That's been a really great BJSC discovery for me and has grown a lot since its very unjust DNQ a few months ago. Still play it regularly so cheers for putting me onto it. ^_^ Also cool to see 'What Kind of Man' making its debut this month  - was that mainly down to Florence's SNL performance or have you been hearing it a bit on the radio? Oh to have mod powers to clean up little errors like this without edit lines. :drama: :kink: gr8 chart! (heidy)

The JoeyP Chart /#5
Hi Joe! I'm scared to overplay 'Shine' so I'm currently on an enforced break from it! I find the verses and bridge just as catchy as (if not more captivating than) the chorus, a rare occurrence and the sign of a near-perfect pop song, I think :magic:. The lyrics are also great, my favourite being those of the pre-chorus: 'I was biting my tongue/I was trying to hide' etc. Wasn't keen on 'Bad Blood' beforehand but Taylor's team have hit gold with that remix/video package - love Kendrick's contribution. The song's still not up there with its two predecessors for me (not too fond of 'Shake It Off') but at least I can get behind it being a single now. ^_^ Triple Brandon in the top 10 is great to see! 'I Can Change' worked particularly well in his live show by way of some inspired crowd interaction~ :o. I don't think I really 'got' this song at first but I really love its disjointedness and quickening tempo now. Sooooo much other stuff here I love - excellent chart! <3

Mango's Top 40 (25/05/15)
:hi: there Mango! Really liking 'Dream Lover' at the moment too. The vocals in the chorus remind me of an Imagine Dragons track and overall I find it quite Arctic Monkeys-y. Such an anthem. :music: I checked out Charli's 'Famous' a while ago and found it overly trashy but it's been in my head regularly for the last week since hearing it in an advert. Gurl knows how to write a good hook~ :o Great to see 'Ship To Wreck' on the climb. It seemed to get the worst (online) reception of the preview tracks/singles from the album and didn't appeal much to me originally but it's been growing a lot since seeing her perform it on various TV shows. I really love the instrumental especially . Can't wait to hear the full album! Still love that #1 by the way!

Buzzjack's Ultimate TV Presenter • The Results
Konnie has always been a fave, ever since her Blue Peter days . She's charismatic, charming, fun, hilarious (intentionally and otherwise), self-deprecating - I used to tune into Xtra Factor almost solely to watch her troll the entire show. I'd definitely say she's underrated at only #12!

Josef Salvat - Night Swim
Video makes the song ten times better (and I already liked it a lot)! I've no idea how he manages to make such high quality videos - the level of effort and execution is extremely impressive for an artist of his standing. oOCtm0bUC08 Bit of an overreaction from Example with the knife there. :o

This is excellent! Her songs have such an effortlessly mesmerising quality to them. Love her lyrics as well.

Florence + the Machine - How Big How Blue How Beautiful
Gah I have such high expectations for this based on the four tracks I've heard and, like Jark, I've seen near unanimous praise for it online. It seems that she's got the album's sound absolutely spot on, with it feeling mature, engaging, cohesive yet not overblown, like 'Ceremonials' was to many. Really looking forward to checking it out for myself. :D 'Ship To Wreck' didn't originally make much of an impression on me but the live performances are really winning me over. Love the intro and first verse in particular. B1ifoMkOgTI

Brandon Flowers - The Desired Effect
Nope, I would have loved to hear 'When You Were Young' as well but he didn't do that! 'Only The Young' was never a big favourite of mine or anything but I thought it worked incredibly well with just the organ/as an understated encore and I definitely appreciated the lyrics more - I'd be interested to hear how it went down with someone like yourself who wouldn't particularly like the song. 'Lonely Town' was another of my highlights actually and has overtaken 'Can't Deny My Love' as my current favourite from the album ever since :magic:. Sounds even better live!

Hurts - "Some Kind of Heaven"
That's a massive chorus! Really like it on first listen and definitely agree about its hit potential. Would be great to see Hurts return successfully as I randomly revisited their debut album a few weeks ago and found it much better than I'd remembered. A really well-executed, polished collection of songs - been playing 'Illuminated' in particular a lot ever since . Still never checked out their follow-up but I'm excited to hear more from them based on this. :o

Brandon Flowers - The Desired Effect
Thoroughly enjoyed Brandon's show in Edinburgh on Monday! I would go so far as to deem it FLAWLESS if it wasn't for the inexplicable snubbage of 'Mr. Brightside', despite him performing several other Killers tracks :drama:. I'd thought afterwards that he must just be sick of doing it but I've since discovered he performed it on other UK dates and changes up the setlist a bit from night to night, so it seems I was quite unlucky. <_< Anyway, the album sounds incredible live with the backing of a full band, especially 'Dreams Come True' and 'Still Want You', the former having not clicked with me until experiencing it as the show opener. I've also got a newfound appreciation for 'The Way It's Always Been' since hearing it live - really lovely lyrics and melody . 'Crossfire' was probably my highlight overall but I was delighted to see 'Magdalena' performed as it's always been a big favourite from the first album and I wasn't expecting it at all. 'Read My Mind' and 'Human' were also great and massive crowd pleasers - I very much enjoyed watching middle-aged, middle class couples absolutely getting their LIVES to those ones . He ended with 'Only The Young', accompanied by the huge ornate organ at the back of the Usher Hall stage, which was a real moment. I've never seen a gig end with such a slow, sad song and kind of admire him for doing it, even if I (along with the rest of the crowd) was convinced it'd be followed by 'Mr. Brightside' for a good minute after the lights came on! </3

Brandon Flowers - The Desired Effect
Unsurprisingly, this is an excellent album! A little too short for me with there only being 10 tracks, and for whatever reason 'The Way It's Always Been' didn't feel like a natural conclusion on first listen, but there's nothing even approaching a weak track and plenty of variation, while all sounding remarkably cohesive. Will need to give it further listens to form any stronger opinions but 'Untangled Love' would be an immediate highlight of the songs I hadn't yet heard. Very excited now to see him live on Monday! :D

There's definitely something infectious about this song because I'm also a little obsessed with it at this stage! The chorus is just spectacular - really can't get enough of it. Hope this'll be another big hit for you. :D

AEROCHE/n a t i o n a l // ps1 & adam griffin - late night lover / 175
Gave the final another listen last night and this was a huge, unexpected highlight :o. Completely irresistible, especially that bongo solo! My favourite of your entries since Henry Saiz.

Desbuanda
Arguably thrice :magic: with the double/repeated chorus towards the end (which is just soooooooo good gahhhhh ) but yeah I agree it could do with another! That was actually exactly what I thought when I heard the song first. :o Glad you're liking it anyway, cheers!

'Black Magic' • 1st single
Definitely a strong, catchy pop song but I agree with others that it lacks identity and seems too 'young' for them at this stage, especially after the more interesting and inspired stuff on 'Salute'. I really like the verses but the chorus is way too cheesy.

Big Brother · Timebomb
It's incredible how many housemates thought it was perfectly acceptable to emphasise Eileen's age so much in their nominations of her. Granted, they were struggling to find reasons to pick people, especially with it being face-to-face, but I really thought they'd be decent enough and smart enough to base their choices solely on behaviours, interactions etc. instead of something she has no control over! I agree with Jonjo that BB shouldn't have allowed what they said as valid reasons. Fair dues to Jack (the housemate!) though, who was the only one who never brought age into it when he nominated her. Also, Eileen's very eloquent little speech before her own nominations broke my heart slightly. It's unfortunate that three interesting characters are up and it's definitely a loss whoever goes but Adjoa being evicted would be the best case scenario for me. She's has a lot of potential but hasn't actually delivered much of interest or entertainment beyond very openly discussing her sexuality, so she seems a bit one-dimensional right now. Sarah's really impressing me with her directness and ability to deal with any issues, take criticism and get on with things, especially as most of the others are so oversensitive. I'm particularly interested to see how her bond with Nick could develop as they seem to really get each other. Eileen's a warm, lovely woman with a great sense of humour but part of me wonders if she knows exactly what she's doing in endearing herself to the public (not that I mean that negatively as there's nothing wrong with game-playing - it's just a thought I have about how genuine she is :o).

Years & Years - 'Communion'
Quite a bold album opener. Very atmospheric and I like how its starkness draws attention to the lyrics rather than blowing you away with melody and synths like their most recent output (which I still absolutely adore ). I do find the vocals towards the end a tad whiny right now but I'm sure that'll pass.

Brandon Flowers - The Desired Effect
Performance of 'I Can Change' and short interview on Graham Norton, for anyone interested: KKUER1L-6ZQ I really think 'Can't Deny My Love' would have been a smarter choice as it seems much more instant and accessible for people and it's simply an extremely impressive song IMO. I don't get that decision at all. 'I Can Change' is very good but definitely my least favourite of the tracks I've heard and doesn't translate particularly well live for me, based on that performance anyway. Still, it's holding well on iTunes (currently #23) and has drawn a lot of attention to the album so it's not like it hasn't done its job. ^_^

Big Brother · Timebomb
I'm not a fan of Danny and his bitching but I can sort of see why he'd get the impression Joel could be a bit false. Something about the way he carries himself and his delivery is extremely composed, if almost robotic sometimes. I do think he's genuine though but he's unusual for a 19 year old and probably takes some getting used to. I'm really liking the bond he seems to be developing with Nick anyway. Sarah's very hard to warm to but I thought she dealt well with Cristian and the others taking what she said about money out of context. There'd be others that'd overreact and be bothered that they were coming across badly at such an early stage but I thought she explained herself clearly and seems like quite an assured, unapologetic character, which should make for interesting viewing as the series goes on. I'm not strongly disliking anyone so far really, but Cristian seems unnatural and very aware of the cameras (not to mention extremely vain), so he'd come the closest right now.
