  1. Updated sales for 'Roar' and 'Dark Horse' from @chartnews - the former is still just ahead but they'll become Katy's second and third US 6m sellers soon. :D 'Roar' 5,940,616 (9,315 last week) 'Dark Horse' 5,934,448 (17,257 last week)
  2. I'd actually assumed One Direction had already passed the million mark with 'FOUR' but the fact that it'll undoubtedly get there and become their fourth of four to do so is still pretty impressive. Interesting that their last two albums have sold about 500k less than the one before (with 'Take Me Home' on 2m and 'Midnight Memories' on 1.49m). I'd imagine the next one will have strong opening sales as there'll probably be a lot of attention around it being their first as a four-piece which would mobilise their fanbase but, barring a smash hit, I'd say it'd be their most front-loaded yet and probably end their million selling streak. Great to see Ed's '+' finally surpass the million mark. With 'x' at 1.4m and still in and around the top 10 thanks to 'Thinking Out Loud' going strong, I think it has the potential to get to two million in the long-run.
  3. +5 Years & Years - 'King' +4 James Bay - 'Hold Back The River' +3 Ed Sheeran & Rudimental - 'Bloodstream' +2 Rihanna, Kanye West & Paul McCartney - 'FourFiveSeconds' +1 Nick Jonas - 'Jealous' -1 Maroon 5 - 'Sugar' -2 Hozier - 'Take Me To Church' -3 Mark Ronson ft. Bruno Mars - 'Uptown Funk' -4 Steve McCrorie - 'Lost Stars' -5 Jess Glynne - 'Hold My Hand'

http://oi61.tinypic.com/znmxhd.jpg 'No Words' was released on the 10th of April and is the first single from Erik's new album scheduled for later this year. Really loving this! Quite a departure from the sound of 'Pathetic' and the rest of the 'Somebody's Party' EP and probably his most upbeat, poppiest effort yet.
  5. Rex was an amazing housemate. There was an interesting dynamic between himself and Rachel I thought - I think he liked her a lot overall (possibly fancied her) but was disconcerted with how cheery and positive she was, didn't know how to deal with it and took it out on her a lot. He wasn't exactly a particularly nice guy but not (overly) nasty either and definitely one of the wittiest housemates ever. I actually saw him in an airport a few months ago and he still has the same hair. :o Kemal was hilarious. 'C'mon headdress, don't let me down bitch' has to be the funniest first line anyone's ever said on entering the house. Lydia is one of my least favourite housemates ever. I don't understand her supposed appeal in the slightest. She spent the whole time consumed with paranoia that people could have the audacity to nominate her and took every little inconvenience as a chance for her to play the victim. She was also incredibly arrogant and hypocritical. Her eviction was even more satisfying than Arron's for me!
  6. Voted last night. Semi 2 is outstanding! I have five 11/10s and there were so many highlights that it got to the point towards the end where I was hoping the rest would be crap so I wouldn't have to make any more tough decisions. :drama: Hereby throwing some hype Yehesi's way~
  7. Had a listen of Semi 2 last night and this really got me. Such a stunner . Hope (and think) it'll do well for you!

This song is clicking with me majorly right now. She has the best/most satisfying choruses. Delighted this is shaping up to do so well.
  9. Just catching up~ (Enjoyed reading so far by the way - thanks for doing this, Liam) :D Agreed with you about Imogen probably being boring in retrospect. At the time though I just loved the way she operated - she was nicely laid-back (I guess compared to the other females that series), had an amazing accent and I had a major crush on her at the time so I felt I kind of had to honour that opinion when rating! Louise was a spectacularly dull housemate though. Just utterly vacuous (but obviously a lovely girl at the same time). I feel similarly about Gina v Hazel. On the last week before Hazel went and they were arguing constantly, they were as bad as each other but I definitely felt Gina provoked Hazel more prior to that. I think Hazel just wanted to have fun in the house for the most part and wasn't looking for drama, whereas Gina thrived off bitching about people/being rude to them. Both were very entertaining housemates though. I always liked Dan but he was really his own worst enemy. He seemed really concerned with coming across well to viewers and being popular in the house and I think he could have had all that if he just relaxed a bit and enjoyed himself! He had great potential to be an interesting housemate and definitely went too early for me (in a particularly unfair twist as well). I loved his friendship with Hazel - the most genuine relationship in that house (apart from Jackie/Charlie ). Agreed about Caroline. I don't know how she managed to have me still liking her considering some of the stuff she said about/to people but something about her was so lovable and she was obviously hilarious, both intentionally and otherwise! I remember loving the way she'd always apologise to people and then ruin it for herself by laughing or something.
  10. (Sorry to bump this again but just catching up with stuff as I haven't been online in a few days!) 'Mirrorwriting' is one of my favourite albums ever! The whole thing is so effortless - just slick, soulful, melodic excellence from start to finish and it hasn't aged in the slightest. Would recommend to anyone who hasn't checked it out. As far as standout tracks, nothing could top 'Night Air' for me but I also adore 'Street', 'Shoulda', 'Middle', 'Spirits'.....I could go on.

Couldn't agree more and I thought the same when watching it first! Same vein as TLC as well.

I love the choreography (and video in general)! I like the way they just kinda wander around in random settings not putting that much effort into a proper dance routine! You can tell they really get on anyway. Also they're all stunning. :o The song remains a jam. :music:
  13. Nah I'm glad you commented Joe, cheers! 'Make Me A Bird' is utter perfection. Beautiful vocals and I love the drums throughout but especially in that last chorus . It was entered in BJSC so that's how it was introduced to me. You should consider joining BJSC yourself :o - it's a lot of fun and I always make some great musical discoveries from it (and also we'd be likely to give each other a fair few points considering our tastes are similar ).

He somehow managed to take all the life out of 'King', something I didn't think was possible! Also the singing through his teeth and constant grimacing are a bit irritating but he does have a really great tone. I'm delighted 'Jealous' is doing so well over here as it's one of the catchiest songs of the last while. I was sure it was destined to be a low top 10 with minimal staying power.
  15. Another month top 2 in fact :P! I'd imagine if I did a weekly chart it could have about 10 weeks at #1! 'Seasons' is great but I've got slightly tired of it recently. Glad to see it's likely to go Top 40 officially tomorrow though. Cheers James! Ah, delighted you listened to and like 'Perfect Ruin'! And YES to rhythm, piano, melody . I hadn't been reminded of Jamie Woon but now that you say it, the track definitely has that atmospheric quality. Also, the video is essentially Kwabs walking around in night air (don't know if you saw it and that prompted the comparison ) so I've a feeling it'd fit in well alongside Jamie Woon's stuff on my walking-home-leisurely-in-the-middle-of-the-road-at-4am-while-drunk-and-deep-in-thought playlist. :magic: Yeah the production on 'Good Goes The Bye' isn't up to much really but the MELODY . Also I read somewhere that it used to be a country song that was popified, which makes a lot of sense I think (cos lyrics and MELODY). Well it's early days but at the moment 'No Way No' is looking like a potential climber so you're gonna have to be on yo game. ^_^ Thanks! :D Thanks for commenting Harry! Great to see we have a lot of overlapping taste. :D I wasn't aware 'Can't Deny My Love' is likely to flop ?! It's seriously one of the best, most immediate songs I've heard in the last couple of years so yeah, it needs to be a hit! I haven't heard MAGIC!'s album and honestly I had no interest in them despite liking 'Rude' a lot (as I assumed the appeal was solely in the song rather than them) but 'No Way No' is just so damn catchy! I'll be sure to give the album a listen when I get a chance. I much prefer 'Bloodstream' to 'Hold My Hand' so I'm definitely Team Ed tomorrow. And yes, 'Elastic Heart' top 10 would be so satisfying after all the near misses. Fingers crossed indeed. 'Firestone' is glorious. Would sound amazing in the summer (abroad). B-) Thanks Mango! :D Gahhh Radio 1 :arrr: x100000. I think 'Walk' is also my fave Kwabs overall. It's definitely the one I consistently return to more than any other. I am more ready than a Treyc Cohen at a Bootcamp for this album. :cheer: Yep, in fact I think 'No Way No' could overtake 'Rude' in my affections. :o I completely agree with you about 'Bloodstream' as well - nothing to add! Your musical opinions are on point as per *.* Yeah, 'Style' did underperform I guess but when you take into account how well the album's done already, the fact she had no UK promo (I believe) and the streaming disadvantage, I feel like a multi-week top 30 is pretty good going. She'll have no issues getting another moderate hit at the least anyway with the stuff she has to choose from (especially if 'Out of the Woods' gets its rightful time in the spotlight ). Thank you Josh! Hi Jade! All's good, hope you're well. :D Cool to see you're a fan of the top three cos they're all 11/10s in my book! I adore 'U-Huh', especially the chiddybangbangchiddybangbang parts . I hope that girl goes places cos she has star quality in abundance. And yes, that's definitely my favourite of Bré's entries (or of those that I've heard). Cheers for commenting!
  16. 10 Happy 10 Froot 11 I'm a Ruin 07 Blue 08 Forget 07 Gold 06 Can't Pin Me Down 07 Solitaire 09 Better Than That 09 Weeds 09 Savages 06 Immortal Very strong album for me. No duds but I definitely feel the quality dips a little in the middle.
  17. Currently debating whether I should be a pophoahspike this month or go FOLK. :o Either way, hype (!)

Not sure I can think of anyone less shy than Rita Ora but okay.
  19. (jk yay at the return of this :cheer:) Some very nice ones in that section. 'Tough Love' has a real timeless feel to it and is one of my absolute favourite songs from last year. Also love 'Team', 'Dance With Me' (which I'd forgotten about until now so thanks) and 'Comeback' among others. :D
  20. April Fool's Day was yesterday Jay :nono:
  21. (Thanks for that and sorry for the delay in replying!) Interesting. Kate Bush wouldn't have sprung to mind as I don't know too much of her stuff but thinking about it, you could well be right. Still haven't figured it out anyway! I'll definitely get a rate in before the deadline. Just a bit busy with assignments at the moment and need to give the album another listen first. :D
  22. I never got a 'Who is Desbuanda?' I don't think but I got the next best thing:
  23. I appreciate the support at this difficult time guys. Gah, I'll miss that whale. (I'm not too bothered by this news but 'L.I.F.E.G.O.E.S.O.N' and 'Five Years Time' were bops.....so :/ I guess.)

(wait) Gahhh 'One Last Time' is such a damn stunner! I really don't know what it is about the song – it's a fairly straightforward ballad really but something about it always gets me. Superb #1! I heard 'Nobody Love' a while back and found the whole thing very faceless and derivative unfortunately. She has an amazing voice and a lot of potential but the song didn't really say anything about what kind of artist she is, at least for me. That said, I've only heard it once or twice so it may well grow and all that won't matter so much. ^_^ Very nice to see Walk The Moon re-entering (to coincide with the debut of your swanky new avatar as well! :o). Such an infectious track and I'm enjoying seeing it climb high on the Hot 100 at the moment. I'd really love it to be a hit over here too. Speaking of tracks you've put me on to, nice to see 'No Way No' making a decent debut :D. The vocals are its real selling point for me and I also love the long outro. I really like 'Masterpiece' when I ignore some of the lyrics, though I find the chorus a little amateurish. The verses are great though and among Jessie's best work I think (which isn't really a massive feat but still!) Sad to see 'I Lived' finally dying but it's had a good (if a bit erratic) run!
  25. :hi: I am still yet to hear your #1 but shall do so soon due to the crazy amount of praise I've seen it get on here. Actually I was at a haus party yesterday and it came on shuffle at one point but I was too preoccupied at the time to take proper notice cos nachos. Good to see you still loving 'Love You Crazy', as am I, so cheers for the discovery! I actually found the chorus a bit irritating at first and thought it'd be a rare Desbuanda->D'yermak'er snub :o but it worked its magic soon enough and twas great to see it finish top 10! Allday finally making his impact a mere six months after his criminal floppage in BJSC . There's something about the combination of his accent and delivery that I adore, his verses on 'Dynamite' being no exception. Intrigued to see 'Bloodstream' here, considering it's relatively ~swaggy~ B-) (or at least not a ballad) and I've got the impression before that you have a lowish tolerance for Edswag ??? It's always reminded me of Ben Howard's first album's sound (or maybe a particular song, idk), which I know you love, so perhaps that helps explain you liking it too. ^_^ I saw the 'Talking Body' video the other day and it really made the song click. She's so great at conveying the off-my-tits-yet-deep-in-thought-and-feeling-feels-in-the-club type scenario to which I may or may not relate. :o Never felt second-hand embarrassment for a popstar like I did for Jordin Sparks when I experienced that song+video package the other day :drama:. It was like a parody or something! Can't remember if the track itself (minus most of the lyrics) was in any way decent though tbf! Interesting to see 'Doing It' only impact on you now. Funnily enough I thought it sounded great on the radio on Sunday, having disliked it for its repetitiveness/shoutiness/general Rita Ora-ness before. :D
