I didn't realise it was so lazily written and repetitive until my ~eleventh listen or something, after I could finally concentrate on things other than that glorious double chorus. You're right though, it's not like it would've taken more than five minutes to throw some new ideas in and give the second verse an identity of its own. Quite literally an effortless jam. <3

Yeah, I'd kind of convinced myself that he was mounting a proper comeback in the last few games of that fourth set, but he was ultimately outclassed. Incredible achievement for Novak - 12 Grand Slam titles covering all four majors now and he's only 29. Was also great to see Muguruza win her first one quite comfortably yesterday. Must be so surreal to defeat a legend like Serena who she'd have grown up watching!

Yeah, I can't see how 'This Is How We Do' is particularly generic. It's got a lot of character to it in terms of lyrics and vocal delivery, and I still find it irresistibly catchy and fresh (unlike 'Last Friday Night', though I completely get the comparison as it's always reminded me of that).

Very late congratulations to Jake for the resounding win! Absolute stormer of a song and such a satisfying victor, despite any predictability factor. The top three were in my own top four so I've very little to complain about. Seeing Terra Avium at #10 is particularly awesome - what an achievement for a track of its kind. :wub: Great outing for Desbuanda too in placing 27th given the track was always going to polarise. I'm pretty sure it didn't feature in any commiserations yet got two 18s (TY Dandy and Harve!) and a few more big scores (Brade :heart:), so that gives an idea. Lol same, she seems to just blurt out whatever thought comes to her first and it's nearly always shady. And the time delay and blank expressions make it all that much better.

I know it's got solid support on here but I thought Ukraine's song would have quite niche appeal overall, even amongst juries. Never would've put it down as a contender myself but it's so great to see. <3

Have to say Latvia's grown on me just from that recap alone (having only heard/seen it once). I love the way he puts absolutely EVERYTHING into it. Sweden's song's also wound its way into my head from that, and I thought it kind of fell flat live previously.

I want to like Georgia much more than I do, simply because it brings something so different. Afraid the song itself isn't compelling enough though. Lovely performance from Austria~

I think the only explanation is what's been said before here about her wanting to showcase the album when she's promoting rather than focusing exclusively on the single of the time, I'd imagine partly because she's very aware of her overexposure on radio etc. She talks about that a bit at the start of . The 'All I Ask' performances during 'When We Were Young''s stint was still a bit odd as it seemed like it was actively being pushed as a replacement single, but it's probably just a case of Adele being in such a uniquely privileged position that she can choose what song she wants to draw attention to at any point in the campaign and no one's going to have a problem with it. Seems she genuinely has no interest in racking up chart hits.

Finally got around to giving this a proper listen and thankfully wasn't disappointed. Much more downtempo than I was expecting, with a lot of sentimental themes and prolonged instrumentals - the first three singles aren't exactly representative in that regard. Most of those were nicely done, though I did feel it dipped a bit in the middle and lost my interest...until 'Somebody Else' swiftly solved that issue :wub:. A seriously magnificent, gorgeous, utterly captivating song <3 - I'm sad it took me this long to hear it despite it having its time as a single already. 'Loving Someone' and 'This Must Be A Dream' are the other main discoveries, and I've quite a soft spot for 'Nana' and the vocal cracks on 'I'm bereft you see/I think you can tell/Haven't been doing too well'. (:cry:) 'A Change Of Heart' is another highlight and a decent single choice.

Great results! Lithuania is the only qualifier that I wasn't feeling to any degree, but it was far from the worst on show. Macedonia and that iconic whistle note will be missed in the final. </3 Chuffed for Bulgaria/Australia/Ukraine. :cheer:

Only really care that Bulgaria, Australia, Ukraine and Macedonia get through. Georgia would be cool to see too. I usually feel mildly nervous for Ireland at this point but no level of patriotism can muster up support for 'Sunlight'. :/

Her enthusiasm and sunny disposition is admirable but I thought her vocals struggled on that.

That was a little painful and otherwise bland. Georgia was pretty good. Would like it to qualify for variety's sake if nothing else.

Found that really jarring - chorus felt way too slowed down and just didn't work. Excellently sung though. Really willing Ukraine to qualify.
