I seriously don't consider 'Woman Like Me' to be an underperformance. The rest of the era though is a different story.

 

 

It's basically an under-performance if you expected them to do do Shout Out numbers forever.

What I do find funny is how Taylor Swift was so anti-Spotify in the past and now she's inking massive deals with them! If only she had done that for her last era..

 

The Rep era had pretty massive Spotify support though?

I’ve seen a couple of people with ‘the why didn’t Nebula tell them about the soul stone’. She didn’t know. Nobody did. Gamora only knew when she got there that the sacrifice was needed and all Nebula knew was that Thanos killed Gamora while he was there. I assume she presumed he did it because Gamora tried to stop him. Natasha put two and two together when she said ‘Nebula told us he came back without his daughter’, after hearing Red Skull.

It’s partly because she wasn’t on the top 50 playlist yesterday I think. If she was, I think she would have only fallen to like 3 or 4. Overall given the huge Spotify deals she’s got I am surprised she’s not doing bigger numbers but I’m sure it’ll rise again tomorrow now it’s in the top 50 playlist.

I remember being in the minority when everyone else was calling it awful at the time. But, fair few people came around in the end. But yes, I agree it was time and place for Katy that didn’t help the song. The first single after “the haircut” too. I don’t think it would ever have ended up being one of her smashes though, it was a little too unique sounding and the rap was too long for the kind of song it was.

2 years after this flopped was released it has a sudden surge of popularity on YouTube over the past 9 days, really peaking over the past 2 days where it’s become the top 4 most viewed video (was 2nd yesterday).

I saw Detective Pikachu today and she’s kind of awful in her small role. But it was iconic and I stanned anyway. Praying for that Oscar.

A quick calculation shows that her movies (Harry Potter, 50 Shades, Fast and Furious, Southpaw) have taken around 2.4 billion dollars at the worldwide box office (and this is without any Pokemon takings yet) which makes her one of the most bankable actresses of the last few years.

 

I’m baffled too I must admit. I’m surprised that the majority of people dislike/hate it! I feel like they only hate it because it’s Taylor!

 

Hmm no. Taylor has one of the best musical outputs of the past 10 years, that’s certainly not why me or anyone else I’ve seen say they dislike it.

It will 100% smash. I get why she released this it’s very American AC radio hit, and she needed something that the radio would stick to. After the first week or so LWYMMD’s hype wore off and it was a lot less stable than her other leads, they needed a radio deal to get it a pop #1 over there. So it’s wise to go with something safe that will smash and have longevity even if it does end up being one of the least popular songs on the album.

The general reaction to this seems very positive, I just have a feeling this will be a very fun era (like 1989) to be a part of <3

 

I hate to be that person but it’s actually being slated outside of Buzzjack and the core fanbase.

 

What I will say is that the video is a beauty. I’m so happy she’s working with someone new. I hope Khan is fuming!

It sounds like so many things. Emeli Sande, the Panic hit, Jess Glynne, Pink and most of all The Greatest Showman.

Glory Days charted higher than LM5 this week. They really let this album die.

 

The benefit of having more than 2 singles for streaming. If they'd released two more singles by now (which they could have) and they were all similar sized hits to TAU, it would have at least helped the album a lot

The payola is massive and will make sure it’s massive in the first week or two. Who knows after that.

 

It sounds like an attempt at Roar but comes off like Pink covering Next To Me. It REALLY sounds like Next to Me.

It was promising up until the chorus, which is very American radio juvenile. The Spelling is fun bit...really?
