I got an early screener of the finale and it's one of my favourite episodes of TV ever.

#22 on Shazam now, it's doing really well on there. #5 on iTunes, too.

They need to pay Brook and Jessie to do one. Calvin Harris' new song hasn't entered the top 200 this week either. In fact I think both songs are doing simiarly in the UK, despite Calvin being a much bigger more established name. So it'll be interesting to see if Calvin gets a HHUK add when Jade doesn't.

The Shazam position is really promising. But honestly, a an easy £14 bundle of all three physicals would have given her a top 15 hit.

On free Spotify they banners alternate between a few every day, so it wouldn’t have just been her’s. That would have been paid for by the label.

Some good news, it's #43 on Shazam. Fantasy peaked at #64, so that's a really good sign IMO.

If the s1 finale is anything to go off… plus it’s one hour and 15 minutes ! Episode 4 and 7 of this season have been two of the best episodes I’ve ever seen.

This is where I stand. Yes we can be obtuse and say there’s many other ways to get hits, the fact the playlist doesn’t always help etc. all of these things are correct but the main detail is that it is such a simple way to give songs a chance.

Excellent post, Jay! I do think Hot Hits has less of an impact than it used to but is still very instrumental in giving UK artists a leg up and more of a chance to do well on Spotify. I think Tik Tok and the fact Spotify is not geo-locked like Apple Music makes things very hard for UK artists, as the biggest playlist is very USA-centric (todays top hits). So it baffles me that given it’s one place that can give UK talent a bit of a chance that they consistently undermine UK artists like they have with Jade ever since Angel of my Dreams. You’d think Hot Hits UK would want to give a leg up to artists like this.

We need whoever runs that "aaron" account on twitter to start making the stans aware online that Spotify is the one who's to blame for this era not hitting since Angel because of Hot Hits UK. I really feel like stan Twitter aren't aware.

It's going to be a real uphill battle for FUFN, now sadly. I guess this week will be its peak, so let's hope it can stay top 40 without HHUK Support.
