  1. Thanks for clearing that up zeus555 - I've got my glasses back tonight so hopefully no more mistakes! I must have looked at Bing's name at the top of the list for December 17th 1945, and did'nt pay attention to the title.
  2. Not sure why you've not included 24th December 1945.
  3. I'd like someone to check this, as i've left my glasses at work today. I make this the missing chart dates in the book - 1940 30 DEC 1941 29 DEC 1942 28 DEC 1943 27 DEC 1944 25 DEC 1945 1 JAN & 24 DEC 1946 30 DEC 1947 29 DEC 1948 27 DEC 1949 26 DEC 1950 2 JAN & 25 DEC 1951 1 JAN & 24 DEC So maybe the 9 missing weeks, included for White Christmas (1942 & 1945-51), includes one of the January dates? Great book - I've been sorting my 78s alphabetically, and reached the letter G - so far i've found hit 78s in my collection from AMBROSE, ANDREWS SISTERS, Winifred ATWELL, Charlie BARNETT, Max BYGRAVES, Nat 'King' COLE, Bing CROSBY, Deanna DURBIN, Percy FAITH, Reggie GOFF & Georges GUETARY.

Time slot changed for a while during the sixties to 5pm-6pm 1965 JAN 3 - From this week onwards Fluff read out the whole Top 20 after the number one over his theme tune instead of reading out the Top 10 and then playing his theme tune as before 1967 SEP 24 Last show on the Light Programme. 1967 OCT 1 - First show on Radio 1 - extended to 2 hours - 5pm-7pm and now includes the full Top 20. 1972 SEP 24 - Last Pick of the Pops on Radio 1 until the various oldie versions appeared on various stations from 1982. The above information has been compiled from various sources - if anyone has any corrections or furthur information for me I would welcome that. Interesting to note that all the presenters on the Light Programme had their own theme tunes and format. Alan Freeman changed his theme tune during the sixties but from around 1970 returned to the 'Sound of the Swinging Symbals' in a brand new recording - the one that Tony Blackburn uses today.
