COMEDY movies
Off the top of my head, Zoolander Anchorman Big Lebowski Burn After Reading Four Lions In the Loop Dr Strangelove Three Amigos Shaun of the Dead

Public Service Broadcasting - "Inform - Educate - Entertain"
They are one of those acts I'd be genuinely happy to see make it big. The more exposure from this kind of thing they get, the better.

Gravity
I've heard some mixed reviews of this, apparently the story doesn't really hold up the more you think about it. But the trailer for it looks so beautiful that I'm okay with it. Weirdly enough, everything you said here could apply to Moon from a few years ago with Sam Rockwell and directed by Duncan Jones (Bowie's son). The best sci fi film I've seen in maybe 10 years. If you haven't seen it, it might be up your street.

Dark alternative Music - DEATH GRIPS, HTDA, ALLFLAWS, EL P
Resurrecting this thread as I just got the new Death Grips album. They've been on my list for a while now (way late to the party on this one), and this is kind of blowing my mind. Like a spiritual brother to early Prodigy.

Movie VILLAINS
Bryan Cranston might have ggiven the performance of our generation with Walter. And Bardem is so unnerving. He was the best thing about the adpation.

Movie VILLAINS
I need to watch Con Air now. Been far to long.

Movie VILLAINS
Not a movie, but Walter White is probably my favourite villain of the last few years. Not in the least because as Breaking Bad goes on you get to watch in great detail how the man transform. The Joker is great but over-used by a mile. I'd like to see Lex Luthor done well on screen. Great potential there.

Panic! At The Disco - Too Weird To Live, Too Rare To Die
I can't listen to this as I'm at work but they've used a Hunter S Thompson quote for their album title so this better be bloody good.

Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
I haven't seen the latest episode yet, but the show is finally starting to improve. It's taken a while for the characters to feel more developed, as opposed to just vehicles for dodgy-dialogue. If Whedon was more involved with this show it would be much better. But the man can't be everywhere.

Captain America: The Winter Soldier
I really didn't enjoy the first one. It had some decent ideas, but it wasn't good enough. The Winter Soldier is pretty much my favourite Captain America story, and the writer of that (Ed Brubaker) said he was happy with the script for the movie. So I'm pretty excited about this. That bit where Winter Soldier catches the shield made me nerd-cheer.

Public Service Broadcasting - "Inform - Educate - Entertain"
Well I found the other night that my housemate had nicked my vinyl out of my room and was playing it to his girlfriend. So I think I have them hooked.

Thor | The Dark World
This was such a step-up from the first Thor. Felt much more self-contained, as opposed to being a stepping stone to the Avengers movie like the first (as well as Cap/Iron Man 2). It set things up for the future, but was much more complete. And it got the balance between serious and funny perfectly I thought.

Public Service Broadcasting - "Inform - Educate - Entertain"
This is up there with CHRVCHES for my favourite album of the year, and from that article, Wildegoose seems to be an interesting guy. I've been forcing all my friends to listen to the album since it came out.

Indie, Rock + Alt. recommendation thread
Has anyone here heard Russian Circles? Listening to the latest album at the moment and trying to pick my jaw up off the floor.

BOWIE//MURPHY ~ Love is Lost
Heard this for the first time on 6 Music last week, it's amazing. When Ashes to Ashes came into it I nearly cheered. I've heard the 4 minute version, but someonetold me there's a 10 minute one as well?
