So #26 in the chart today. I think we can assume this will chart top 40 this week! Ella still seems to have major problems getting traction on Spotify. Dunno what this issue is. All the other numbers seem very good.

To clarify. OCC have made it clear that only the first named artist will be recorded as a lead artist. It will be treated as if it’s a feat for him by the OCC.

Except the OCC won’t count the one with Ella as his name is second [rolls eyes] Assuming they make top 40, it will be tight this week due to poor Spotify...

It is now, it wasn’t before this single release. Good move, the way the song is building should be helpful. And he does a really good job on the song.

It’s not really a solo hit as it’s & Tom Grennan, but sure she’ll get a well deserved credit if it indeed charts! Seperate discussion as to whether she should be credited re This Is Real where she was an ‘&’ at it charted #9 last year...

The OCC guy accepted it was a joint release not a feat (as per the album credit, iTunes and Amazon) but oh no the jar has spoken! :0) I guess the issue is more pertinent for 1st timers like Tom Grennan, as he’s named 2nd on Let’s Go Home Together apparently he won’t be credited for a top 40 placing...

The OCC author replied to someone on twitter saying ‘Jax Jones is the lead credit [as] his name [is] first on the track’. Then again he did mention incorrectly it was a ‘feat’ later... High drama :0) Edit: the author now says he is removing the ‘feat’ reference in the article and saying ‘collaborator’ Instead :0) Ps. Of course the logic of this is that Tom Grennan won’t get credited as a top 40 lead artist on Let’s Go Home Together, as his name comes second......

Don’t think they are right re the database entry on that. On Jax Jones album, iTunes, Amazon etc This Is Real is definitely an ‘&’ not a ‘feat’. But hey not gonna lose any sleep over it.

Sure. Just seems odd when artists/labels agree it’s not a ‘feat’ and they're consciously going for equal billing. Wonder if the OCC formally define ‘lead artist’? Anyway as usual with Ella, Spotify remains the weakness if that improves she/Tom probs make top 40 next week. It will be close.

And #2 today on Big Top 40... Spotify is usually Ella's downfall. And again it isn’t looking great atm. I do think this song will push through though it seems to have a lot of momentum. Right song at the right time and 2 really good vocalists.

Well over 50% lead as iTunes #1, so it’s going to sit there for a few days. As of yesterday #48 AM and #194 Spotify, hopefully that should improve a lot the next few days. Any thoughts where this might chart next week? Top 100? Top 40 no chance??

I suspect Ella’s team have wanted to release this for some time, but James/his label didn’t fancy it. I actually prefer Tom here, James slurring style is beginning to grate on me tbh Interesting what bounce they get from Graham Norton and then Sunday Brunch... (It obviously suits an acoustic treatment more than her recent dance tracks).
