  1. Pleasant enough on first listen. Expected the chorus to kick more but it might grow! Not a very strong sample actually- is it actually a sample! Doing v.well on iTunes up to #54 already but not added to Spotify NMF (Becky Hill is). Wonder if she’ll get the same lack of streaming problem as Take Care of You?
  2. Marty posted a post in a topic in Dance and Electronic
I love how down to earth and honest Becky is. Hope this does well.
  3. Think you were dead right on this! A sample of ‘Another chance’!
  4. Interesting that Ella and Becky Hill have the same management who have chosen to release new music on exactly the same day! I guess no particular problem other than stretching your management resource! It would interesting to compare these two artists actually, how they’ve ended up in a similar place... l
  5. I’m not getting that. But maybe that’s Roger’s feel on mixing, production? We’ll find out soon enough!
  6. A top 40 would be good as a start!
  7. A middle section... Still up for the sound of this!
  8. @1308449582133764107 More clips of the song. I’m beginning to get a good feeling about this...
  9. Must say Roger Sanchez wasn’t on my Ella EDM bingo card! The 5 second clip on her insta stories sounds a bit soporific I hope it breaks into something upbeat!
  10. Wonder when that was done. Sounds like Hillary Duff in 1993 for an American teen show :0)
  11. Think this was a good solid song. Let down by lack of Spotify HH, it did well on iTunes and AM. From her insta—> Next single is out in October, currently being mixed.
  12. She does get an official credit on the (pretty good) acoustic version. Tbh I’m not sure she wanted her name against the chipmunk version! As long as she gets a few bob I suspect she’ll be happy enough... (Now she’s done EDM with Sigma, Kygo, Sigala, Jax, Sam Feldt and Nathan Dawe— who’s left? Joel Corry, Clean Bandit?
  13. Of course This Is Real was a joint release not a ‘feat’ so she’s kinda achieved that already. They are still plugging away at this. Better on Spotify but I think it will run out of sales legs real soon. Still not a bad result though. Her next single choice will be very interesting!
  14. This was the Suns argument for page 3 against women’s movement critics. The topless models choose to do it, they are proud of their bodies, The Sun just provides a platform for them to express themselves. The reality was The Sun were filling their boots by objectifying women which had consequences for women in society as a whole...
  15. I don’t think anyone is saying women and men shouldn’t be able to freely express their sexuality. But to think this is just about artist personal choice is beyond naive. As Sammy said artists and their images are largely controlled by label executives. Sex sells. Pornography is Culturally pervasive. Big money and the sexual objectification of women for profit was a major target of the women’s movement.
  16. To be clear I mentioned the possibility of ‘a generational thing’ because I am old enough to have personally spent years joining women on demonstrations, protests and marches for women’s rights and opposing the likes of page3, beauty contests and the pornography industry because of the way they pigeon holed women, even though some argued the women ‘choose to do it’... Of course women and men should be free to express themselves sexually and lyrically in music. The issue now as then is whether the adoption of sex object stereotypes for male gratification and/or $$$, with little else expressed as a human dimension, just damagingly objectifies women and young girls. If any women post on here it would be good to hear their views.
  17. I have plenty of energy to call out male sexism thanks, most of us would because women won many of those arguments and battles over the years. I just doubt women artists choosing, out of a spectrum of hard fought freedoms, to be a stereotyped sex object is particularly helpful to women as a whole. That was the page 3 argument. Maybe this is a generational thing. Anyways, peace and love.
  18. Women spent decade after decade after decade fighting for equality and not to be treated as sex objects. Now we have endless arguments about women having the freedom to choose to make a music career out of being a sex object... Using hard fought freedom to ‘choose’ to be a sexist stereotype seems an odd one to me. Call me old fashioned. Funny old world.
  19. Ace of Base rather than a Gaga/Boney M combo. I think this will actually do ok. People like Ace of Base :0)
  20. Tbf Ella did post ‘who dat chipmunk’ on her Insta...
  21. This has performed really solidly. Just lacked Spotify to fully break through.
  22. Yes it is Ella Henderson on the Nathan Dawe track! He did a remix of Take Care Of You maybe that was part of the deal? But I always find it annoying when the singer doesn’t get a credit....
  23. @1286398611551641601 It is Ella Henderson! (Not mentioning the singer annoys the hell out of me, but hey we don’t know the details). Like the song though!!
  24. Apparently Ella does a vocal on the Nathan Dawe ft KSI song Lighter out tomorrow... (Apologies for posting this here, but people might be interested)
