Re-entered Spotify top 200 at 199... Someone on twitter saying this is now #5 of top played songs on radio.

I think she should be happy enough with the performance of this. It’s has decent radio support and been in the iTunes top 20 for approaching 3 weeks. Just missing Spotify Hot Hits to make it into the top 40. Her next move, when and what, is an interesting one. She probably needs a 6 to 8 week pause then release her EP with another strong single. To me it needs to be an upbeat pop song, not dance or a ballad....

Tbh Since his comments on slavery, his love in with far right extremist Candace Owens, his MAGA hat wearing loonfest with Trump and now this standing for president nonsense Kanye can (let’s be polite) get lost. I personally couldn’t give that guy any of my money.

Added to Radio 1 B list! (Spotify is still a major problem with this going top 40). Ps. That isn’t really ‘acoustic’ is it!? It’s a pleasant enough stripped down version, but has synth on it. Guess we’ll get a remix soon as well..

She isn’t going to write a dance track on her own. She did write the Glorious EP (which is her ‘real’ music) and it wasn’t great... But what would be great would be to establish a longer term close relationship with another writer.

Ella is ending up on quite an odd position. Quite a lot of dance music success (although she isn’t ‘cool’), but naturally drawn, gifted re melancholic ballads and Soul, RnB. Her best chance of longevity remains I think following an Adele 2 type approach. But for that she needs very strong songs. And she probably has to realise her own songwriting isn’t good enough on its own. A tough self realisation.

So why do you think the Ella Henderson song is #26 on AM and not in the top 200 on Spotify?? Is it just promotion on HH or something to do with her audience demographic??

Ella joining Will Manning on the Big Top40 show today. Earlier was on the Kemps TV show. Already been on Lorraine and Sunday Brunch. Her management are earning their corn on this!

I agree about the chorus not being great but her voice is so listenable I still quite like it.

Apple Music promo making a big difference! Obviously The Pop List on Spotify doesn’t cut it, even with a cover photo. She seems to have good management this time, same as Becky Hill, so hopefully they’re sorting out some high profile radio.

Some boost today, up to iTunes #18, with Sunday Brunch appearance and being #31 on Big Top 40. Doing really well on Apple Music #26, not in top 200 on Spotify! See if Radio 1 or Capital playlist it and if they can do anything else with the Spotify problem (they’ve done quite a lot there already tbf)!! Still think it’s a strong commercial song.

Very touching. Indeed I hope more and more people speak out and more name names. The effect on people’s lives that exploitative liars like Dan Wootton and others make needs to be put in the spotlight. The fact that guy has been repeatedly promoted, even appearing at Covid briefings, is utterly shameful.

Not a bad start. Obviously needs major radio support and hopefully that will sort the Spotify problem. I still have a good feeling about this.

Ella on Sunday Brunch and that ITV Kemp programme Sunday Best. Should get a nice boost. (Although I think acoustic versions of these dance tracks never do that well...)
