Ella pushing Young and the EP again today, with an acoustic version of Young going on YouTube. Sensible pushing hard giving the success of This is Real. But as someone said is this material good enough?? Young is decent I think, better than Glorious. Apparently the next EP track ‘Friends’ is supposed to be more upbeat so fingers crossed for that! Ps. Is it worth renaming this thread ‘Ella Henderson - Glorious EP’ ??

Breaking through up to #15 on iTunes now! Maybe being added to Kiss gave it an good boost? Only 66 on Spotify though, needs a good push there. And Capital to actually give it a play🙄 Hopefully make the top 40 official next week and move onwards ...

Yeah love the video. She is a perfect singer and personality for this. Hopefully it will get more play on big stations soon. Capital haven’t played it at all despite it being in the 20s on iTunes. and that Big Top40 is just bizarre as it includes their own airplay numbers as a parameter.

Ella wrote it and contacted Jax 5 years ago about it. Before he broke through. They knew each other from then and were still in contact. When Selena’s team eventually turned it down and he was looking for a diva I guess she was a choice. Mind you he could have chosen a bigger more current name to help sales... Looks like it turned out well for both!

That did pass my mind... But tbf she did write This Is Real as well and that’s a strong song. I think Glorious was really important to her as a message, and that seems to have over-ridden any common sense re its musicality and suitability for radio play or as an impactful comeback. The EP needs to show a lot more.

Like this song a lot and it really suits Ella’s power voice. Hope it gets some decent radio play. Seems to have a good basis to be a hit.

Ella wrote the song 5 years ago and contacted Jax about producing it but Syco said no. I guess he bought the rights and his label contacted Selena. Obv they proceeded but I think her record company pulled out last minute. And he went back to Ella. (Some of this at the end of the live video, above)
