  1. Adam Lambert remains something of an enigma to me. Lots of talent but little music personality. He doesnt quite know what he likes or wants, so remains a chameleon basically 'acting a musical character'- which of course reflects his roots in musical theatre. And probably explains why he does a good job with Queen as well....

2 nights in Shepherds Bush, no? :0) Buy hey I'm going to Cambridge and London, should be a great interesting night out!! Preorders on weds, general sale fri...
  3. 8CUBKFAeQPk 9th Place: Rockets Score: 137 Rockets comes in at #9, Kaboom! Co-written with Claude Kelly ("My Life Would Suck Without You", "Party in the U.S.A.", "Wrapped Up") and produced by TMS, Ella's favourite production team. It’s a soulful feel good song and one of my favourites on the album- although it divides opinion ahem Cameron 11 vs Sean -1 !!
  4. Two of my favs as well! I guess I like pop, soul and some gospel--anything like jazz I run a mile!
  5. ZuxucB-W1rk 10th Place: Hard Work Score: 129.5 Into the top 10 and the bigger hitters and quite a few surprises! At #10 we have Hard Work. A nice laid back track incorporating some fantastic whistle notes (Would like to hear them live, we know she can deliver after her great XFactor ‘Loving You’ performance!). It was supported by a cute Vevo video showing some of Ella’s ‘hardworking journey’. The track seems to be popular in the US and in fact charted #73 in Austria, no idea why! Ryan gave it a mighty 10, Cameron and PAJ88 a 9.5.
  6. 9ALEME8MMms 11th Place: The First Time Score: 127.5 Surprisingly beating Giants is one of my least favourite tracks on the album, The First Time. For me a bit of a jazzy mashup with a nasty intro! Although to be fair the chorus is decent. Sean, Ultraviolence and Ryan gave this 9 with most the Buzzjack pack giving it a 6 or 7.
  7. 5mVCj838mqg 12th Place: Giants Score: 127 Giants is the final song on the Deluxe album. Co-written with Claude Kelly, it is an uplifting, feel good song which I think could be a commercial success. Sadly it was left off the US release of Chapter One so obviously ‘her team’ feel differently! Most on Buzzjack liked the song, but it was hurt by Sean 4 and Acidburn 5 grrrr.
  8. ZYZ-Qykbh1I 13th Place: All Again Score: 122.5 A fairly anonymous song on the album, rarely mentioned. But it has a stunning, searing vocal from Ella and has an interesting, almost musical theatre feel at times. Sean gave it a mighty 10, most everyone else a solid 7 or so.

Great classy performance on Chatty Man. Mirror Man up to iTunes #44 and album to #24, shame there's no more promo to push it into the top 40... Her tour dates, venues are announced on Monday, looks to be around a dozen gigs, I guess in smaller venues..that would be sensible at this stage, and I hope they price reasonably at around 12-15 quid....
  10. E5CbplpDe4k Joint 15th Place: Beautifully Unfinished Score: 117 Beautifully Unfinished. An underrated ballad just waiting to be on a film score (move over Yours!). Middle of the road for most on Buzzjack although Cameron 0, Calum Hood 10 think different!... and Cody Slayberry 8 (It's asking for a dance remix!)- yep agreed!!
  11. uZON3AjDAfo Joint 15th Place: Billie Holiday Score: 117 Billie Holiday you either love it (Ryan 9.5) or hate it (Cameron -1)- I love it! A feel good song, with a bluesy, retro feel inspired by her granddad's music. Comes on the Deluxe album as a welcome respite after a few ballads.

Yeah!! In October-- dates in Bournemouth, Bristol, Birmingham, Glasgow so far!! Being announced on her twitter right now!
  13. OWNRkQ2KK4Y 16th Place: Lay Down Score: 116 Lay Down coming in as a surprise number 16, to me anyway! A haunting track about death and loss, is maybe a bit dour for some, but it was the first track to break the iTunes chart in Ireland. Produced by TMS (Sigma Changing, Emile Sande Read All About It), with whom Ella is currently again working with. PAJ88 scored it a 4 and JimmyT a big fat 10!
  14. Sean has passed me the Ella Rate baton, so I'll be restarting it real soon! :)

Ella is performing Mirror Man on Alan Carr this evening... Expecting a smallish boost into iTunes top 50's, but with Radio 1 now dropping this, it's a dead duck! Personally hope she does a collab or EDM single next, maybe in time for the Take That tour...
  16. The video is just ruined by the irritating poor lip synching and needed more Carly. But, after a few listens how can you dislike this song or dislike her? She's cute as a shiny button. Everyone likes shiny buttons :)

    Beautiful performance.
  18. Hope things are OK with your family Sean. Good luck.

Comic Relief isnt all comedy, it has a serious and often sad message. Let's see how they stage Yours. On Mirror Man, it hasnt had that much promo really- this (launch) week the only performance has been on Live Lounge- which is a side show for the cover. She had a chat on Loose Women. It has been hurt most by lack of commercial radio support mainly Capital but also Heart, wearefreeradio. I guess that's partly politics because Syco seem to have given the BBC most the time and exclusives for the launch.

Exactly! I'm sure they'd have loved to do Mirror Man, but it didn't fit. The only way it would of worked would be as part of a comedy sketch, but the song isn't really known so that wouldn't run.... Still great promo, and the album is #7 now so good chance of top 5, with Yours having a strong climb...

Chapter One (non Deluxe) now up to #7 on iTunes!-- mainly due to it being promo discounted at £5.99 I guess, with a bit of Mirror Man promo thrown in... Next Mirror Man promo is Wogan show Sunday, then Chatty Man next weekend....

After Live Lounge, Mirror Man is up to#77 and the album to #21. Performance on Comic Relief tomorrow night, but just found out she is doing Yours....

Ella on Live Lounge today, singing Mirror Man and a cover of James Bay - Hold Back The River! Interesting what she does with that cover!

Not sure this will make top 40 tbh. Currently #240 on iTunes with Loose Women, Live Lounge and Comic Relief this week- Chatty Man the week after. Sure she's doing some radio interviews with Heart etc, but not sure its gonna be enough this week! Hope I'm wrong.
